  1. the gen has silver-grey nummerals, 1-2-4-5-7-8-10-11. the contrast is very interesting. the rep has for all numerals the same color, that's incorrect and ugly. i thought they make a high end upgrade version, and what we get to see is a big disappointment. here some gen pics. rolli
  2. hi frankt. my lug mods are not a question of springbars or not. the basic model what i used is the same on your picture. the aim of my lug-modification was, new better and downward curved lugs with laser-welding technology worked into the case. thick and only 18mm long springbars, and the position as near as possible to the case. the basic model lugs have a bad position with a very ugly shape and bad material. rolli
  3. it's not so easy to find a goldsmith with laser welding technology. in my city are only 2 goldsmiths with this special laser machine. maybe you have to ask by the goldsmith guild. the gen 3646 models have 1,9mm watchmaker round steel for the lugs. the 249 california has 1,8mm. for this 3646 rolex i used 1,8mm. the lug holes was 1,8mm. but for my 2533 new project i will use 2,0mm. you know between the lugs are springbars ( 18mm long ) for a better strap change. a friend of mine has three 3646 vintage models and the 249 california. so i get all detail informations what i need. the original plexi shape is one of my next theme. rolli
  4. yes, it's made with laser welding technology by my goldsmith. rolli
  5. pam 3646 with rolex dial and manifatture firenze strap 1942 enjoy !!!!!!!!!!!!!! rolli
  6. in camera technology is generally known, that 35mm has the 1:1 ratio of the real object. that means eveything on this picture is in real size. and as a template you can enlarge the picture with photoshop. but if you make a shot very near to the object or with macro, then you'll get a fish-eye effect. that means the object ratio is totally displaced. i think to get a correct dial size is only possible direct from a gen 201A with a 35mm camera shot. assumed you have this possibility, then you can use this 1:1 picture as a template for a cnc-machine. or the engraver makes a picture-print and can use it for an engraving stencil. i think that's the simplest way. i hope davidsen is flexible in his work. it's very easy to say rep is rep, but today we have all possibilities for the technical realization to make a very good result. rolli
  7. dear babola, thank you for your comment. you know and i know that the 2,1mm palp crown looks much better in connection with the crown-guard, but before i make an investment for modifications i wear a pam model with different straps and see, is that my acceptability for a longer time and find it a place in my collection. now the answer is yes, but after a series of strap tests. i'm not a blind collector and keep everthing. in the new year it get the new palp crown and the dagger regulator movement plus the polished rework of the hand pinion. rolli
  8. pam250 with mario paci 8 !!!!!!!!!!!!!! rolli with strapmasters gen alligator.
  9. each dealer can buy a pam case as a spare part for you. my tip, the pam000 case. rolli
  10. hi babola, i have understand everything, but please explain your criticism point substandard crown-guard ??? thanks rolli
  11. hi mates, i've thought about what you've said. the theme with the better look of the palp crown has a long beard, very very old theme. please don't mention this theme again. more interesting is the theme with the crown-guard and maybe the other flaws in connection with this pam111h. dagger or arrow regulator movement that's the same, we have here an old song -- thousand times heard and thousand times happened nothing --- so, please clarify your criticism point substandard crown-guard. thanks rolli
  12. before i wear a watch i use from time to time a disinfectant from the apothecary's shop for the casebacks, and also before i wear a strap the first time. rolli
  13. merry christmas and the pam111h with mario paci 2. rolli
  14. dear friends, first, merry christmas for all of you and your families. it's a contemplative and thoughtful time with a lot of good intensions for the new year. we should'nt forget that the pam modifications are only an enjoyable challenge for our passion. without pressure and without time limit. everyone has his own intention and the most important is that we never lose the fun thereby. our modifications should'nt give the picture who is the best. it's only a nice and friendly guide for those who want to learn, which are the possibilities for modifications, and at this point i would like to mention ziggy. i think without his knowledge, which we got for free, nobody would have the possibilities and understanding for the different modifications. for my part i can only say thanks to ziggy and all the members here on board, merry christmas. rolli
  15. hi kruzer, merry christmas for you and your family. i have always some palp crowns on my desk here, but i thought should i post this pam without palp crown, and the answer was why not. you know the most pictures from the dealers are really bad. my help with this picture quality is to give the newbies a better impression about the pam models. it's only a little help on this board. we all know how hard it is for a newbie to see the differences between the pam details. one of the criticism point is still the pam111h dial. the numerals shape are totally wrong. and no corrective in sight. rolli
  16. hi mate, please... i'm not a newbie. reps are reps and not a sainthood. watch my signature area, the gallery, you will see that the most of my handwinding pams have this thick palp crown. i know, it looks much better with a palp crown. it's xmas time and my watchmaker had no time to install the palp crown. assembling a pam that goes very quick, but assembling a palp crown, that needs time. the modders know it. so, when you see here the pictures without the palp crown, that's not the end of the world. no offence, buddy, rolli
  17. hi fitmic, first, merry christmas. yes, i wear my straps always inverted, it's much better, i wear my watches right wrist. rolli
  18. i never buy pam parts on ebay or blowflybay. my watchmaker is only there for my technical wishes and unfortunately he have to do it always very quick. rolli
