  1. Lol--Condemore, your monologue is creepily reminiscent of Pyle's gun cleaning monologue in Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket. "Smooth, Charlene...smooth...so your action is perfect. Beautiful Charlene..."
  2. I whole-heartedly agree. Every time you witness an economic crisis (i.e. recession, etc.) the cheaper means of living always flourish. NPR has reported on the income of cobblers, for example, going through the roof due to those willing to repair shoes rather than replace them. Stocks on cheaper retail lines such as Wal-mart and Dollar General have also returned huge gains. Everyone from Amazon to car dealerships are now saying that the quantity of their sales of used & refurbished merchandise is almost exceeding that of their new merchandise. And even CNN reported yesterday that high-end manufacturers like Armani, and Louis Vuitton--among others--are moving operations from Europe to China, due to production costs. To extrapolate on the later point, due to the inherent nature of the Chinese manufacturing sector and their well-earned reputation for bootlegging whatever "legally" comes their way, having in-country legal access to the technical aspects of producing the real thing will also send the quality of the reps up as well; not to mention the demand for them.
  3. Quite nice!
  4. In horology, the term "complication" refers to any feature beyond the simple display of hours, minutes, and seconds in a timepiece. A timepiece indicating only hours, minutes, and seconds is otherwise known as a simple "movement". In other words, let's see your complicated pieces.
  5. Some of the newer complicated reps like Ulysse Nardin, Graham, and the Corums look phenomenal compared to their gen counterparts, so lets see your pics!
  6. Once hooked, I'd say it stands for "removing wallet, gladly".
  7. Oh yeah, and you need to get a bucket of Damp-rid & put that camera in it, ASAP. It will successfully remove all internal moisture.
  8. LMAO! C'est la vie. Sorry, but it was too good to pass up. If it wasn't before, I guess your member-name is now well earned.
  9. I figured as much, but wanted to see if someone actually ran the numbers before I buy one. I know these are only reps, but I've always had mine tested to at least 6-10 ATMs, as I dive in mine like it's going out of style.
  10. I'll take the silence as a "no".
  11. Deep Sea water-proof test? Specifically the V3--not the other releases. Maybe the board's search is failing in the results it gives, but has anyone actually pressure tested this watch (i.e. with a proper Bergeon or other true equipment--not simply dunking it in water). I'm curious to see the results on the weak-spots; not just the dual piece case-back or the HEV, but the domed crystal and its gasket, as well. Thanks.
  12. This won't work, as the cases are completely different sizes. Not to mention ceramic vs metal inserts.
  13. Bitteschoen.
  14. Bump to see if there's any new word about this model. I've seen dealers carrying the black ceramic version, but have yet to see the blue. Anyone?
  15. Bump, for those who keep pm'ing me about sources.
  16. Don't buy anything from Bob, period. He's a mouthy little cocksucker.
  17. On a side note, I find it interesting (unless the pics are Shopped) that there aren't any band or clasp markings visible....
  18. I love the new blue lume. THAT had better make it to the rep...
  19. A little cheesy perhaps, but rep-related. Let's see some of our members Newman inspired Daytonas.
  20. This tutorial didn't mention gen inserts; only aftermarket. Most people just beginning modding shouldn't waste money on gen parts for fear of destroying them, through lack of experience.
  21. Always enthralled.
