Don't know him, but read that article months ago--fascinating. The amount of $$$ that guy's got in his shop tied up in machinery is astounding.

I've never seen a swiss GMT 50th aniv rep or gen on a jubilee bracelet. I think the major flaw here (other than the GMT hand being gold instead of red) is the crown & hands are gold on an StainlessSteel watch, but the bezel isn't? The gold GMT hand makes me think it's Asian, like the ones I've personally seen; swiss GMT hands are usually black or red. The triangular 24 hour-marker on the green aniv (gen & rep) bezel insert is wider, unlike the regular GMTs. Either that model needs a TT bracelet & gold bezel to match the crown & hands, or you should check out this one: http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...109e6e0bb1aa0a8 I've got this specific model, which runs better than the Asian, and (minus the hand-stack sequence) the bezel, rehaut & dial are very similar to the gen 50th aniv edition, which only comes in full gold. I think the SS version looks much better than the gen, imho.

I got one from him a well--the "perfect" sub model. It does work--but only after it's adjusted by the end-user. Most of my experience is when the new ones come from the factory, they put the scuba extension in so it's folded up & protected under the clasp--it will not deploy like this, no matter how hard you try. You have to completely undo that end of the bracelet from the clasp, open the extension, and re-attach it so it folds up & closes correctly. I don't know why they can't do this before it's mailed out to the consumer. On the bright side, it only takes 2 or 3 minutes.

My Perfect Sub From Josh Arrived Today--flawless.

I asked them to send me some before/after shots of their lume work and I plan on visiting their shop, so we'll see. Actually, my handle is more an homage to Giorgio Armani, my favorite designer--we are America though; I get that alot. As soon as the 005 arrives I'll do a shoot with it too. -

It had not been relumed, I was told. Keep in mind though that this had the direct beam of a flashlight on it for about 3 straight minutes, and was then photographed in almost complete darkness. It was almost completely faded after about 10 minutes. -

And the pearl is the only obvious downfall of this piece to me. I've ordered a black bezel insert from Raymondjeweler off eBay. -

It definitely feels smoother and less sharp to the touch--more like a gen. -
Another express delivery on a Sunday afternoon! Josh definitely delivers. Because it looked so damn good, I dressed Josh's model up in a gen Rolex Sub box & accessories kit. The piece is so fantastic, I decided to let it write its own review: The whole enchilada: Case, bezel & crown details: Sides of case & band: Exact crown & correctly modified CG's: The clasp: The scuba extension: Modified band (sanded, rounded edges & brushed/polished finish): A truly fantastic piece. Here's the link, in case anyone is interested: http://perfect-clones.com/rlss10005-perfec...362-p-1045.html And, as promised in ealrier threads of mine, here's a few pics my girl was gracious enough to pose for to model it. (I didn't want to remove any links, so it might look a bit big on her) Hope you enjoy them. She goes to prove how versitile the Submariner can be. It can dressed down to be casual. It can also be dressed up to a level of sophistication. Or it can just stand alone to be sexy. Have a great week, guys.

Awesome--these people are only 45 minutes from me!

I just bought the new 005 logo watch myself from Davidsen on the 14th--he says it'll ship on the 18th, hopefully. Hope it gets here soon--I can't wait. (my first Panerai)

As an ex ABO certified optician, I can tell you it's well worth it. Judging by your prescription, your myopia isn't too far advanced by any means-- a negative 3 diopter with moderate astigmatism isn't too bad--I've seen "legally" blind patients regain quite a bit of sight from a negative 10 in both eyes; I suggest looking at it as a worthwhile investment. Regardless of how clear your contacts/glasses were, nothing beats having the correct refraction & focusing of light taking place in your eye itself rather than on a piece of plastic, before it even enters the eye and is then directed to the retina; it's a completely different quality of visual experience. At most, it will take 2 (maybe 3) days to fully recover to normal functionality & operability. However, contrary to popular belief, the procedure is not permanent but is for the better. At a certain age your crystalline lens (located behind the cornea) will inevitably "short out" and you will require reading glasses; usually only a +1 diopter or so, tops. This generally occurs with the myopic at 40+ years of age, or at 45+ for the hyperopic. You will also notice a definite change for the better in your depth perception--making it easier to spot those fakes. Hope this helps.

I love the fact that all 3 glasses are completely drained.

Looks pretty complete--what's the project?

If I remember correctly they have to use the word "vintage" because the only way he's allowed to sell the whole genuine kit is to use the old 2005/2006 calendar card instead of the 2006/2007 one. The one I bought does check out as completely Kosher from our Rolex dealer. And I bought the newer calendar card here: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...A%3AIT&rd=1

I got the same thing from Andrew here: http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...f717f01b74f8bb0 I've used them before and they're pretty damn good.

Yes, again this one was ordered over a month ago.
