  1. tempting but I want a U1 black...I'm willing to wait for different version of the U2 although the gen dial seems really thick in one of the pics provided....perhaps the recessed spot was not possible due to dial thickness.
  2. Doubtful that the gen dial would fit since the subdial of the gen is in a different position. Too bad about the dial details tho, I wish they would have implemented the contrast between the background and waves like the gen. That feature gives the watch a unique appearance, IMO. Perhaps we can matt the dial ourselves with some precision abrasion? many thanks for the review. bosk
  3. I have one and it runs great...I think its just the luck of the draw. Very happy with it and one prize pieces. -bosk
  4. However you measure the rep, its size is correct. There have been a few comparisons of the AP ROO rep and gen (side-by-side) and the dimensions are identical.
  5. MBW jubmo's only come with light gold screws.
  6. The 15300 reps are really nice (newest version). The bracelet is well done (dimensionally) but lacks the fine finish quality of the MBW jumbo and the screws are sometimes stripped. The watch case of the 15300 is awesome and the dial rivals that of the jumbo rep (which has an incredible dial). Logo is abit small but it does have white paint filled between the A and P. As always....the AP RO reps do not fit small wrists that well.
  7. Painful...but here are 2 for $19... http://apbands.com/shop/merchant.mvc?Scree...Product_Count=2
  8. Watch looks great but the pics do not look sharp...perhaps u'd get better results with natural light in the day time. Or increase the exposure time and put the camera on a stand with a timer? Any chance of a pic of the endlinks with the strap removed? Is there a ridge on the endlink piece to secure the strap? TIA
  9. What about? To strengthen the damaged tool?
  10. Yup pics 1-3 are definitely rep. http://replica-watch.info/forum/viewtopic....f=9&t=55041 there is a direct gen / rep comp on DS that shows this very well. I have a gen dial and the date window is exactly in the same spot as the rep. The issue is more with the inner bezel ring on the rep covering too much area. Pic borrowed from above post.
  11. I'd like a rep of the Las Vegas Strip (LE of 300) 30K retail but I've seen it for 25K in this economy:
  12. great looking watch...I have the black version and a Paris version. Is it 42 mm? or is the a new new 39-40 mm version? I'm waiting for the correct case size to come out before buying more AP RO chronos. Instead of using the ROO case the rep factories could easily use the RO 15300/jumbo case.
  13. Very nice but I'd like to see the modified cases needed for these movements... I need a proper case for my AP ROO project.
  14. AR takes about 1 month +....so rent a condo. Its super easy to remove the crystal youself with a $20 investment in a press.
  15. No supposedly the gen does not have AR....the AP crystal is completely flat so no AR is really needed but it makes the dial look soooo much better.
  16. Very nice purchase! I was debating to buy it myself. I'll post pics of my two 15300 jumbo's after they are modded with some superlume. My MBW jumbo had chief's DAR and it looks awesome...a highly recommended mod. Could u please post a pic of what the endlinks look like where they meet the strap? Are there ridges on the endlinks for better strap fitting or are the ends of the endlinks flat? TIA bosk
  17. I'd considering finding an old school case with the correct He placement...there are no good options. Stan (WBK) sells a decent bond SMP with gen like crown guards that u could switch with some gen parts but it'd need an ETA movement and black bezel. Perhaps look for a decent black asian SMP to minimize the modding of a couple of parts needed. These tend to have the best crown guards.
  18. many thanks for the comparison. The gen seems thinner than the rep...seems like it would sit on the wrist a bit differently. Lume is a must IMO....I'm about to re-lume mine too. -bosk
  19. once again awesome watch. Did The Zigmeister remove some of the old lume or was the C3 applied directly over old markers? TIA bosk
  20. I remember some1 mentioning significant lume discoloration before but it seemed to be an isolated incident.
  21. the 4th gens are hard to come by...most of the versions out now have He valve positioning problems. I hear that Sead over at repgeek may have the 4th gen but its >300.
  22. steel...and I would pass on that particular model. if u want gold..there are nice jumbos out there with better bracelets. look at how the bracelet does not tapper to the watch head on the sides. This problem has been fixed on the newer models. Markers are also too short on the model shown.
  23. these are not yet available...the ones you see are incorrect in case size (the ROO case is used). The factories could use a jumbo case but it might be too thin. I'm waiting for an AP RO chrono myself.
  24. seems like the movement problems are with the newer AP ROOs. My first gen sec at 12 Rubber clad is running great still.
