Yup and you can end up with something like this although this is an original dial. The after market case with caseback engravings are hard to come by and are not interchangable with MBW 5513 cases.

Hi Guy's,
Thanks for yer comments much appreciated. Mickey, thanks for the info looking into those pearls right now. In the meantime working on the date version, Randy this might put you over the edge...

P.S bosk, yeah same source for hands, expensive but i've seen them elsewhere for over $100
Thanks for yer comments guys, glad you like it. I guess i got lucky with the hands i saw a photo of them before buying they look pretty close but in fact as you can see they are a perfect match.
The case i tracked down on the Bay. I've only ever seen two, this one and another i also bid on but the price went through the roof. Crazy wot people will pay, could have brought a whole watch.
As for gen pearls you're right, i need a few so if anybody can help...

Haven't seen a Rep Tudor Sub apart from Randy's and By-Tor's so thought i would post my newly finished Military Sub inspired by By-Tor's MBW version. Spec is as follows:
1:1 aftermarket case.
Original Tudor Dial. Aftermarket hands from Hong Kong.
2836 engraved movement with date gearing removed (Original has a 2784).
Original vintage crown and tube.
Original Rolex Tropic 19.
Ofrei bezel insert which turned blue in the bleach.
Bond Nato strap.

Putting a gen rotor on a eta movement is like a square peg in around hole. can't be done pal. Look, read and learn before you post. Just trying to save yer ass from a mauling but then again its quite amusing...

Hi,
I've brought a couple of dials off of jdm by giving him a best offer and am very pleased with the quality and service and i didn't pay anywhere near USD350. The problem with Red Sub dials is that i've never seen any that are close to the real deal. jdm's look like white sub dials but with red lettering. As for Hong Kong dials in my experience they're cheap (USD100) but nowhere near on details.
Cheers

You got it. Seems to be a few of good quality refinished drsd dials around but i'm looking for a red sub dial but non are accurate enough to consider at the moment.
P.
Well spotted. Actually its the springbar holes that are different sizes which gives it the illusion of one being slimmer. When i modded the drsd i couldn't get a 1.3mm drill bit so used 1.5mm. Finally got 1.3's when i worked on the Comex.

Hi all,
This dial looks to me like what they call "chocolate dial" because of the way it fades and also distinguishable by the small "o" in the coronet. These are highly desirable hence the price. Not sure if they had "Patent Pending" backs though think this dial is later than that.
