  1. Isn't that my red/black datewheel? Have fun Johnny!
  2. Thanks for all of your kind words. I haven't taken it off since I got it!
  3. http://cgi.ebay.com/DATE-DISC-FOR-ROLEX-SU...1QQcmdZViewItem Flat "3"'s would look nice in my vintage rollies, with ETA movements. Will these fit?
  4. A friend built it for me, I'm not a watchsmith, or have time to try! We went through a crystal or two before we got the fit right, I'm not sure how it was installed. @Nanuq I'm honestly not sure if it was sold as authentic. I may have just bought it because it looked old.
  5. I'm happy with it, I looked at a lot of pictures of these as it was being built. I wanted a distressed look, the hands and the datewheel bother me more than the insert. I did really good on the dial, so I'm still ahead of the game!
  6. WOW! Good spot ByTor! I got it off of Ebay long ago with an authentic bezel assembly, perhaps I got ripped? Oh well, it's definately faded and looks cool with the watch, but maybe I'll look for an authentic aged insert. The dial is as I bought it, it came with the patina that way. I want to age the hands, and the datewheel to look a little less bright and shiny. I'm sure it will be a work in progress for a bit, but I thinks it's a great start..
  7. It's been a long process, that was fun to watch unfold. I bought most of the parts on eBay and rep forums, and then waited patiently as it was built. There were some obstacles, and rebuilds, but the finished product looks and feels great! I wanted "as close as you can get", but as everyone knows, the 1675 case is always the stumper with these. Parts list: "GMT II TW best" case Authentic 1675 dial Authentic(?) bezel insert Authentic crystal Authentic "55" Jubilee bracelet, and clasp. ETA 2836 Enjoy the pix! It needs some subtle aging, as the case is a bit too sharp, and I'm sure the CG's arent 100%. Hands and datewheel look a bit too "new" to fit the dial. It is a great feeling watch though, much less "clumsy" than my MBW 1680. It was assembled by a friend on these forums who will remain nameless unless he wants to step up!
  8. Sigh..... I got two and am waiting to use them in watches, what little that I have seen on these here does not sound promising! Ubi???
  9. Hey! I PM'd Ubi today but his box if full! Anyway, he was going to check on a 1675 dial and the overlay for me. I have PayPAL ready to go, just have not heard back from him! Help!!
  10. How about a thinner 1675 while you are at it?
  11. I need one for a 15000 Franken I am putting together, and fabrication tips?
  12. I have a similar project in the works, and I went with an original dial. I waited patiently and culled parts from eBay (dial, older aged authentic bezel, older authentic jubilee) and it is being assembled now. The original dial just looks really cool, but I'm sure RBJ will paint it right!
  13. OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAH! Last version worked out OK??????
  14. Did it a while back, triple homicide with heavy DNA evidence. In a funny way I was honored to be selected to the jury..It was a very high profile/political case for the county I lived in at the time. I would do it again if required..
