@ piberf -- That movement looks Swiss to me. Like Z3k0 said, needle regulator plus Novodiac shock protection plus straight spokes on the balance wheel = Swiss.
@ sssurfer -- I've got a Swiss E movement from DSN with a dagger. It has the Novodiac shock system, though, not Incabloc. There have been *some* Swiss movement with the dagger regulator...

That would be my suggestion as well. I don't know about the Fiddy, but his 44mm Luminor case uses smaller screws than either my Silix or Puretime Luminor CGs. FYI.

I don't know how much stock I put in the "water drop" test. I tried it on an old-school, Seagull powered PAM212 rep that I had and the water stayed beaded. AFAIK, no 212 reps were ever offered with sapphire crystals and certainly not the ones with the cheapest of all movements.
Having said that, why would AR coating be a waste of money on a mineral crystal? I'm not super-delicate with my watches, and I've never scratched a mineral crystal....

What vendors have the 082? The only one I know of is DSN.
Yep, just DSN.
-
That watch is a train wreck, LOS. You should send it to me so that you never have to embarrass yourself again by wearing it.

Hey TeeJay,
Is River located CONUS?
z
Nope. He's in the East somewhere, I can't remember if it's mainland China, Hong Kong, Singappore or where, though.

No, you don't need tubes with the spring bars. In fact, the spring bars are too thick to even try to use the tubes with them. The thing that tubes do is allow for easier strap rotation as there is less friction with steel/steel contact than there is with leather/steel contact. The spring bars rotate freely in the lugs, so you get the same effect as using tubes/screws. It all comes down to personal preference, IMO. I like the feeling that tubes (or spring bars) give. I will say that I've never had a lug screw loosen up because I wasn't using tubes, though.

If someone says "Nice watch", I just say thanks. If they ask if it's real, I tell them it's a replica. If they are offended by that, that's their gig, not mine. I'm perfectly capable of deciding what is and is not morally acceptable to me, thanks just the same.

DON'T DO IT!
That would ruin that absolutely unique balance between the cold tone of brushed SS and the warm tone of lume and strap.
With brushed SS goes silver, no doubt.
You created something unique, don't change it now!
Agreed, eleventy billion percent! I'm biased, but I'm not a fan of gold/brass hands. Don't change anything Savage!

Jay, DSN sent me pictures of my 010D before he shipped it out to me, because I had requested his older (version 1) 010 dial.
Perhaps he could do the same for your order?
-
That's a Swiss movement, but it's not a 6497-2. This is the older OP1 or OP2 style movement, not the OPX/OPXI that should be in a 111. Completely wrong movement for a sandwich dial 111. That's a great movement for any A-D series PAM rep you might want to build, though.
-
I just ordered 2 6497-1s from Ofrei. Ordered off the website. They were delivered today. Overall, pretty painless.
-
Sent the seller a little love note.
-
The quality of the decoration on that movement is leaps and bounds better than any rep movement I've ever seen. The pics are of a gen watch. I agree with Kruz, though, who knows what actually gets shipped to you.
-
Seriously?
A gen of WHAT?
It looks an awful lot like a rep 249 dial that someone had "Marina Militare" printed on. Are you asking if this is a genuine vintage dial? No way in hell...
-
Cool, let's do this. "Lyndonville" is in Charlotte with me, too.
-
I've had Pre-V rep buckles that were 22mm that came on 24/22 rep straps.
There's really no answer except to measure the buckle width (or compare it to the inside diameter of the lugs
).
-
Width = 24mm at the lugs.
Length is personal preference and wrist size.
-
Hey, I'm in NC, too. We need to have a NC/SC mini-GTG.
-
I don't think there are any 000's with sandwich dials.
savage
Correct, the Zero and Fiver have always been sausage dials.

I would love to see some Historic models that use the in-house movement that are base or only the seconds at 9 complication. I'm just afraid of what using the new movement would do to the already climbing prices of the "entry-level" PAMs.
I think every single one of the models you listed sounds better than 99% of the models debuted this year. The 026 re-issue is a home run, though.

Hmmm, I agree with your logic re: the 5 separate customers returning watches, Jay. I'm saddened to hear that he isn't shipping the replacements now, but is making you wait instead. Not cricket, IMO.
PM is on the way about the spring bars!
-
Jay, are you saying that DSN is waiting for your returned watches to reach him before he ships the replacements? That's bunk. Perhaps it's simply becuase of the size/value of the order?
Sorry to hear about all the trouble, again.
For the screw issues on your 210/a, perhaps you can use some spring bars from River and just paint the ends with some flat black paint? I LOVE the spring bars that look like screws, I even use them on my gen 002!

By that argument everyone who has ever jaywalked, exceeded the speed limit, parked illegally, or committed any number of other minor infractions, would be a hypocrite if they ever lamented the occurrence of another (slightly more heinous) illegal activity. Now it is worth pointing out that at least the U.S. residents on the board are not actually engaged in an illegal activity merely by possessing a rep watch. But I am sure that all of them have broken some law at some time therefore they are surely hypocrites too.
I don't buy it. But if you feel like a hypocrite for speaking out against child slavery, by all means, be quiet.
Perhaps hypocritical is too strong? Ironic, then. Surely you have to recognize the *irony* in someone who is supporting (financially) an illegal enterprise then lamenting a different illegal aspect (possibly, I agree there has been no mention of a link to replica goods) of that same enterprise?
I'm sure the kool aid drinkers that believe this is supporting terrorism would have us all strung up for for THAT, let alone child exploitation, and they would feel justified in doing so. The point is we don't *know* what happens to our money on the other end of the Western Union/PayPal/Moneybookers line.
At best the rep industry is loosely tied to this activity and even the shutting down of ALL replica goods manufacture wouldn't put an end to it.
That's all I have to say on this matter.

Chances are he'll send it for free, even without you asking for it free.
He has done so for me in the past, at least.
