The 3646 should have fixed lugs, so the 232/249 case won't do.
After seeing Kruz's (I think) post, I would say the Watchmaster case is by far the best. Pricey, though!
-
Shape of the bezel and the dials are slightly different, too.
If you can post a profile shot of the watch, we'll be able to tell if it's the old case or the new...
-
I am also puzzled by the total absence of any reaction from the rabid 'rep bashers' at Paneristi when thier ex-moderator has suddenly become a rep enthusiast. How come you are still welcomed over there when the rest of us would get tarred and feathered?
Probably because Jay is OG, and a good guy. Some Johnny-Come-Lately can't really flame one of the pioneers of the 'Risti online community and get away with it, can he?

Jay, that iOffer movement is Swiss, too. It's just using the cheaper Novodiac anti-shock system, instead of the Incabloc.
The crown centering problem isn't a recent phenomenon with DSN. My 010D from DSN uses the exact same case, and I bought it almost a year ago.
BTW, it's been perfect out of the box since day 1. I'm one of the lucky ones, evidently.

I still say those are way too patina'd to be Luminova hands...
-
Yep, I think FGD is right. A series only. They certainly appear to have a patina to them.
-
I was willing to do it on his auto PAM 240 as he is the only one selling them. What's even more interesting is the fact that since typing my post above, the watch has stopped wroking. Movement is now dead. I will be doing a candid review of the product and I have contacted Davidsen about the issue in hopes that he will rectify them.
He has already offered to send some crown gaskets but I am going to request that he send an entire watch that I can then make sure works properly.
Regarding the lever Peepshow, I am referring to the location of the "pin" that holds the lever in place. It is slightly too high on the crownguard and thus won't properly lock the crown.
Ah, I see what you're saying, now. That is likely a case of the winding stem being cut too short. Lightly sanding down the "feet" of the CG would likely fix this issue, were you so inclined...
-
I think the center seconds hand is a different size between the old and new A7750, no?
-
...The lever is not centered in the CG...
The lever shouldn't be centered in the CG. It should be offset towards the "top"/dial side of the watch....

I tried on a gen 252 in brussels and the AR was almost invisible, but also very slight and did not look like it made a lot of difference.
That about sums up how I'd describe the AR on my I series 210...
-
FWIW, my 002D has a noticeable blue tint to the AR. Neither my wife's 048H or my 210I do, however.

Do you mean the screws keep turning, if so you may have stripped the threads, A set od DSN spring bars will solve that problem or a tiny drop of 242 locktight thread lock will hold it in place.
A little bit of clear nail polish might do the trick, too.
-
No.
Looks like maybe they started drilling/tapping the hole for the crown tube too large? Definitely not normal. Sorry, I know that's not what you want to hear, since this was your one watch that you thought didn't have any QC issues...

The 111G in Andrew's ad is NOT using a Swiss movement, FYI. AFAIK, the E/F/G series Swiss movements are gone, full stop. Even the Asian E series movements are scarce. I'd check with Andrew about the availability of this watch, he's a bit infamous for not updating his website when things go out of stock...

I would take a look at the Mario Paci MP4
Fantastic call, d! One of my favorite straps from MP.
-
V that looks fantastic and a good investment no doubt...
I am actually surprised how good it looks on a 44m modern piece - especially with that strap.
I'd love to see it on a 232, 127 , 217 as well as 3636 , 6152 etc...
Well done mate!!!

I'd love to see it my my 210i!
Nicely done, Kostas! I like the thread that it's currently stitched with, FWIW...
-
...It was originally from Davinsen....
I doubt that. DSN hasn't ever made any 40mm PAMs to my knowledge.

Hmmmm Okay this isn

The gen definitely has a recessed seconds subdial. It is just hard to capture in photos.
-
That's not Angus' website...
Also, how is that dial any worse than any of the other rep sausage dials?
-
The canon pin is the metal post in the center of the watch that the hour and minutes hands mount to. The standard ETA pin is too short for use with PAM reps, this leaves the top of the pin sunken below the level of the top of the hands. When you upgrade to the long/H3 ETA canon pin, it's tall enough so that the top of the pin is flush with the top of the hands, as it should be.

I believe that Angus/PureTime is still selling his "Ultimate" 001B as well, isn't he?
-
It certainly should, yes.

P-Man, you have just painted a perfect scenario where it makes sense. But I have to say that you can buy crowns from an AD for substantially less (albeit you have to own a gen in the first place). But I just bought 2 manual wind crowns for under $150 (total, not each).
And no guys, I can't get anymore.
Kruzer, you wanna PM me the story, here? I've got a gen 002D I'd like to order another crown and CG for.
Best case for 3646 build(besides DSN)

I think taiji posted that his 232 case from Trusty was pointier than his DSN case. I don't know how close it is to the gen, though.
