  1. Although I completely understand, this ruins part of my plan.... hmmm.... on to the next project...
  2. Not Avitt's... one of the other SoCal family guys... he wishes to remain anonymous with regards to ownership... but he brought like 30 watches and maybe 8 of them were reps.... This was an interesting GTG as there were more or at least as many gens as reps in the mix... the Panerai's made it probably equal as only 4 of them were gen...
  3. i would love to have a correct 063 caseback to complete mine....
  4. It was pretty funny though... we were looking at some watches as I am about to buy a gen Panerai and CC noticed it first... it is exactly catty corner from the watch store...
  5. There were some transitional 004 and 001 B series dials that were T's.... but like PAMman said, the majority were L's... i hadn't seen one with a T dial as high as 1579 though.... very interesting...
  6. this is really exciting... i'm in for one or more of the moderns when you get there....
  7. and when the gen's are taking a huge hit in the aftermarket with the economic downturn... it's not a wise choice... i could understand a killer 127 due to the price differential.... but a 111?
  8. At about $100 for a 1:1 and $222 for a gen.... well, if the 1:1 doesn't come with gen-like lume then I would say it's not worth the time to pursue it...
  9. As the gen uses a 2801 with a module, i would highly doubt that the rep would have the correct spacing... Maybe a seagull movement could be modified though as the gen is handwind...
  10. It's a combination of being in the right place at the right time... and lots of luck... Sometimes, I don't believe how lucky I have been... quite a few people have hooked me up... On the caseback... I wonder if I could get a blank caseback and get it engraved...
  11. the gen and the watchman were the same width...
  12. Ok.... just got this done last night... it's a gen crystal from an A,B,or C series (6mm cyclops)... the design of it was completely different than the rep as it had the cyclops area hollowed out and then a cyclops set inside that hollowed out area... Props to projectologist, the newest pledge for the SoCal family for helping out with this one... and to all the guys in the family for their continued help and counsel... this was the piece that brought me back into this hobby, and i'm glad it did... Thank you to The Zigmeister as well for making this a masterpiece... Panerai 063 replica.... ETA 2893-2 movement / The Zigmeister Lume / Genuine Crown install by The Zigmeister / Genuine Crystal and Crown Guard install by me / Lello Datewheel... strap by Schwing, procured from H_U... If anyone has, or knows how i can get, a correct caseback, let me know please.... i have the b100/500.... need the Cxxxx/1500 OP6524 to complete this! Beginning pic... replica crystal / watchman cyclops / replica datewheel Intermediate pic...replica crystal / watchman cyclops / Lello datewheel Final... genuine crystal and cyclops / Lello datewheel
  13. As someone who lives in Southern California, I think I should become your best friend.... you know, just in case!
  14. Any chance you would share the graphics files you used? Would save the rest of us a bit of time in creating them... it's only fair as I have an HBB on the way because of you
  15. Who said anything about gang? It's family... big difference... I don't dislike you though... but I dislike this internet persona you portray on here... you make a lot of assumptions without knowing the facts... like with me, you don't me from Adam but you have me pigeon-holed into some jealousy thing... which couldn't be further from the truth... the saddest thing to me is that you'd probably be a friend of mine if I lived there or you lived here seeing as we share the same passions for watches, driving fast and the life... but I'd have to slap you around a lil and tell you stop being such a jerk... Best of luck to you though in your further postings.... like I said, thanks for the entertainment... and think about what people said in this thread... i think your original point was misunderstood, but you gotta stop shouting at the rain...
  16. Geez... only Robbie could get CC to spit venom.. amazing... having spent a lot of time around CC, I can tell you that is quite the feat to provoke that... chinkiechunkie is not so chinkie and definitely not chunkie by any stretch of the imagination... i believe the moniker is what some would call sarcasm... As for the SoCal guys... well, let's just say, we're a tight-knit bunch... we help each other out as much as we can and socialize frequently... so, insulting one of us brings us all out... Projectologist isn't SoCal family yet... but he's becoming one of the boys... And as for loving you... don't expect that anytime soon... but you are our favorite punchline... so, feel proud that you're in our nomenclature... the worst thing you can call someone when we get together is a "RobbieG"... I get called it the most because I am so anal... Thank you for one of the most entertaining threads in a long time.. and for reminding us why we shouldn't be a "RobbieG"...
  17. wow... looks legit to me... a lot of Panerai are going for bargain prices right now...
  18. I don't love drama... but if Klink used your username there to post an official position of RWG on his board then you would feel the same as I do... there is an official position of RWI supposedly written by me that was not written by me... It's not drama, it's identity theft.... when I see the name lanikai, I believe it is you... and the posts by that username I attribute to you...
  19. i was created, then posted, and then banned without my knowledge...
  20. I've been told I have been cloned.... it is not me over there...
  21. I would like to publicly thank TT for making this happen.... it was a shame to see a good guy being pinned for something...
