  1. On this gen pic I do see thick markers at 3,6,9 and a triangle @12. It could depend on the angle of photography, but the markers on the rep seems a bit higher embossed than on the gen. Is that what you mean?

@maxmsu: in this pic you can also see that the chrono seconds hand is supposed to be curved. So the rep is actually good in that expect. Also the minute hand is supposed to be curved.

Woo....Look at that double AR, it made the crystal totally disappear! B)B)

  2. I have been wanting the 3717 for a while, after read so many great reviews, finally pulled trigger - alone with a gen croc strap and a set of ETA date/day wheels ordered.

Got the watch today... what can I say? very disappointed.

THe dial is crap. The hour makers were not good quality at all... I tried on the GEN at a AD and the rep is not even close. The date wheels are in need of getting replaced right away and crystal needs to be double coated... but that is not the biggest problem...

just wondering, how many of you guys are happy with the dial?? am I getting the crapy ones now?? See picture, I don't have my Close-up camera right now, but you get the idea... the marker looks like to be a 2 stickers type. mine got one sticker missing... the 12 oclock marker is a glue job done by a 10 years old with school glue.

let me know what you guys think...

Also got the SFSO, amazing watch... however the lume dots on the dial are shiet... am I asking too much? post-105-1193120977_thumb.jpg

Oh...I'm sorry to hear that u have got the problem on your 3717. I'm lucky to see 1 time in AD; compare with rep. The main different : 1.) Double AR 2.) Bold font & indice on dial 3.) Mis-alignment of the day-date wheels. However; In my case the dial is quite good; after swap the ETA Day-Date wheel are much better than the stock one. Maybe u should contact your dealer to replace it. It's really a good rep IMHO!

  3. Congulations on your beautiful DSN111H; I noticed that your 111H use the "Thick Crown" as I descibe early in my review which is problematic... Have u got the "turning-back problem" with your crown? No doubt that thick crown much better look compare with my thin one. Also; I noticed that the dial font are wrong & "mis-shaped" ---> 12, 3 , 10

DSN should better improve this A.S.A.P

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  5. Dear All:

Recently; I received PMs from several members asking about the quality of DSN Ultimate 111H. Sorry I can't recommend u until I get a good one.

I'm not here to repeat the 1st one story; check this post on 2nd page your will found it.

    Ist one

The 2nd replacemet arrived last friday; this time no more major srcatches but the annoying "Turning back crown" still there + one of the screw got slip after install the strap only 1 times. I contact DSN & he replied me that "Turning back crown" is normal. But I owned DSN 113 white dial; It didn't came with the problem. It will be fully winded around 70~80round. As 111H' crown keep turning back when I wind; I need 100~110 round to fully winded it. After I wind around 30~40; I felt tension came from crown & it started to turning back. More round I going to wind; the turning back problem get more serious. I'm very disappoint & made my decision to refund; but DSN standup & give me the 3rd replacement. He told me this replacement assemble by a new case & let me keep the 2nd one for comparison.

I recieved the 3rd one yesterday & did the comparsion. The case size are exactly the same but I found 2 differents:

~ New design Palp-Crown had been used on 1st & 2nd; 3rd used the same crown with my 113 & got no turning-back problem.

    CG lever locked position:

    CGCompLockPosition.jpg

CG lever release & crown at winding position:

    CGCompWindingPosition.jpg

CG Lever release & crown at adjustment position:

    CGCompAdjustmentposition.jpg

From the above photos; you will found not difficult they're totally different. No doubt; The palp crown is much better look & closed to Gen. Beside the turning back problem; I also found the CG+lever set are same size. It's very difficult to open or lock as the crown got thicken. When I going to open or lock the lever; the crown seems band slightly before the lever lock back completely. From the side view I notice that the lever is not lock the crown at the center. I'm not sure whether the lever will band or damage the stem someday...

Can U see their different? Compare the position on CG lever u will know...

    CGComp2.jpg

~ the 1st & 2nd screw (Thread-part) much shorten than (1st & 2nd only got half length of the thread part compare with 3rd)

    ~ the 1st & 2nd screw (Thread-part) much Thicken than the 3rd & they're not inter-changeable

U should notice the thread-part how short they're...So understand why they're so easy to slipped

    Screw.jpg

Up coming is the 3rd replacement (Good one) pictorial review:

~ Still remember many members complain about the dial fonts are much bigger & thicker than GEN; in the latest Ultimate 111H it really got upgraded; but the font espeically "12" & 1 or 2 indice are off or "mis-sharped"

    FrontShot.jpg

Notice that "2" is a little bit lower than the "1" on 12? the indice at 2 is "tapped" upward

    DialMag.jpg

~ 2nd upgraded of dial is more cutted deep to provide u a Sandwich feel; so it's good "Sandwich Dial" rather than "Sandwich Die"..

    SandwichDial.jpg

~ Movement engravement also upgraded; I found the Blue "Offincine Panerai" is much smaller than my 113 & the size should be same as GEN but it still "Outlined" a little bit...

~ The Incabloc shock protection part are also different; check it out

    movement.jpg

~ CG, Crown, Level; Old version good as usual

    Side story & special thx:

First I'm here to thank DSN; although this deal not so smooth & very rough. He really do his best to provide his service to me especially the 3rd one. Actually; I already give it up & want to get my refund. But my lovely wife who work with DSN behind me & finally got a good 111H for me. So, my second thx given to my lovely wife. This 111H is my 1st marriage annivesary gift. Some of u may knew she not like/support this hobby for me. I love U, Chirstine.

  6. Dear All:

I would like to ask whether it's normal or not? Swiss ETA 6479 with dagger swanneck-movement; when I winding the crown keep turning back a little bit slowly. Seems the movement keep good time. I own 2 of this movement; however; the other one haven't got the kind of problem. Dealer told me it's normal......any idea? <_<

    best regards,

    Raymond

  7. Dear All:

IWC CD2007 had been launched for a while. Just curious only 2 members posted their IWC on board. I still not make up my decision whether I should go for it or not? The flaws on pervious version had been fixed or not?

1.) Any dust inside the crystal? the painting on the rotatable inner bezel case this

2.) The mis-alignment problem of the Inner bezel fixed or not?

    3.) The Date-Day wheel mis-alignment problem?

Please kindly share your experience, Photos would be appreciate as well!

    Best regards,

    Raymond

  8. I was looking at my Explorer II rep today and I was thinking that it would be nice to have AR put on it. This watch appears to have no AR on it. Has anyone tried it on this model yet and is there any concerns with the Rolex Bubble. I realize the gen of this watch does not appear to have AR.

Are u kidding? What's the point for coat AR on your rep in case the Gen didn't got any AR?

Also, the ExpII rep are not well made. Too many flaw on them. I rather save my the money for another good rep.

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  9. This weekend; I sticked with my new Panerai 111H "My 1st year wedding anniversary gift from my lovely wife" ---- Chirstine: Thx so much! & I Love U.

    Which got from DSN for sure (No a very good experience this time, long story) :(;

Because my Canon ixus500 send to repair; just use my SE W810 take several quick shot.

Did u notice that the "Crown" upgraded?

  10. As I mentioned to you, Raymond, you have my sympathies over this NEEDLESS frustration. If his Quality Control is really becoming THIS shoddy, then I would have to rethink recommending people to him.

I still love his watches, but this is UNACCEPTABLE treatment not only to a repeat customer, but to any customer (and a fellow countryman). And for the price, sorry, it should be nearly flawless.

We'll see. I am still thinking of buying his PAM 249 without hesitation, though.

Thx for your sympathy & comfort for me. I'm no longer angry. Just a little be disappointed. As I told my wife I placed the order on Tue(2/10/2007); she curious asking me why I still haven't got my watch last night. I felt sad & sorry to my wife; but I can't told her what had happen. This watch is not only for me; for both of us.

I always be a gentlemen to my dealer. I did wrote a positive review for them when they did a good job & I also refer my friends to my dealer. I just thought I should deserve a better service more than that.

    Best Regards,

    Raymond

  11. Bottom line is, if you get a non-Quality Control issue Davidsen, it'll blow your socks away, especially the Fiddy.

EDIT: I forgot to mention that his 112 has to be seen to be believed. It's GORGEOUS. My favourite watch.

(Can't speak to the 111e, but perhaps others can)

The thing is, and I say this fully satisfied now that he's corrected the issues, his recent Quality Control and general customer service has been very bad. Almost to the point of being insulting, and I think a few people can back me up privately about that.

-- They may not want to go on the record, as I have: I'm a little more brazen and the odd woman out here, so sometimes I feel more courageous --

Fortunately, he can be worked with when things go wrong. I have a thought he prefers repeat customers and not first-time buyers, but perhaps that's just me. I say this because he became more communicative after I bought my second DSN watch from him -- whereas in the first instance, it was like pulling teeth to get him to answer questions. Try not to bother him too much, as an aside.

He later apologised very cordially, though.

If this sounds like a mixed review, I suppose it is.

Near-perfect DSN watch = heaven on earth. But getting one these days is hit or miss. I fancy there are still A LOT more hits than misses though.

    Best of luck to all!

    Dear All:

U talking about Mr.DSN? Right! I got to say something here & now.

I deal with him 2 times; the first time is my first PAM 113 white-dial. Absolutely perfect right out-of-the box; the only issue is the movement didn't regulated -233sec/day. It's not a big deal; my watchsmith fix it within 10mins & only cost me USD$4.- ( u could read my review; hyperlink under my signature)

20th Oct.,2007 is our 1st year wedding annivesary with my wife. She let me pick a watch & she pay for it as a gift. (Some memeber close with me they knew my wife not support this hobby) The only condition she ask for : I can't sell it. As a result; I need something reliable & trouble-free. OK, I make my decision to grab the 111H from david base on the good experience last time. But my story just began.

Lightning shipment as usual; next day arrival (HK to HK). David told me that my 111H had been QC personal on last week & guaratee it's good. When it arrived; It really [censored] me off...Why? Check this out:

1.) Scratches are ALL over the case, CG: Left side, bezel, the case back is HORRIBLE! Too many of scratches i even can't count how many they're!! It just look like a used watch or second hand

2.) CG lever is crap! loose & low quality. I guess it's a normal CG provide in most of the cheapest PAM

3.) Crown: Crown had been banded. When I wind the movement; it just keep turning back (un-wind) itself. That's Funny ar?

4.) Movement: "Offinice Panerai" painting crooked & outlined. Also; I could found scratches (AGAIN!!!) , dirt on the movement. The most important thing is: I don't believe it's a ETA 6479 movement. Why? remember the crown turning back when I wind? It's a common problem on CN/Asian clone movement issue. WTF?

5.) Hand: The hour-hand misalign. e.g) At 6 o'clock; the hour-hand not point striangle at 6. about 1~2mm apart from it.

OK! I contact DSN for sure for the follow-up action. I mention all the above problem in my email & I just got the reply extremely fast within 15~20mins....(DSN always reply my email around 3~4 hours later). He just simply replied: Sorry to hear that. Ship it back to me. David.. I rush into the postoffice and mail back the "crap" to DSN after 3 hours i received.

After that; he promise to send some photos for my confirm next day. Yesterday morning; I received his photos & confirm to send it back to me.

This morning; I recieved my replacement at morning 9:30am. Guess what? The package not came from HK anymore; it came from GZ(China).....compare with the photos; it's the same watch.(Do u know what I'm try to say? Personal QC my AXX!) This is perfect? NO, I found another minor issue again.

In my definition; provide a replacement, willing to fix the problem = a Good dealer? NO they just provide their after sales-service. A good dealer should do what they promise to do. Send me the right item I paid for; Give me the quality u said to me. I don't want hear from any members said to me "They're reps; If u looking for a perfect one. Go get a GEN". I think it's a [censored]! Because of u; the dealers dare to scam us. because of u; dealers dare to send u the item with QC problem. Because of U; dealer always try to step toward push our limit. Why? we accepted! we fix it by ourselves! We just keep silent! It's not the way it should be, I don't accept.

    I'm a un-lucky bastard? I'm a perfectionism? Maybe yes. I really don't know.

Why we need this community? Because it keep us together, share our knowledge/information. And the most important things: Protecting us. So, Please, please, don't be a hero to backup your dealer when they did something very wrong. Otherwise; things will getting worst.

2 days ago if u ask me whether I will recommend DSN for our buddies? No hestiation; I say YES! Right now, I won't say that. I don't know, I just don't know.

    Best Regards,

    Raymond
