You might get a replacement from the dealer but sometimes not. If you are not adverse to trying things yourself, here is a post where I explain to a member how I replaced a pearl.

Thank you so much for the link.

IMHO - Never trust Craigslist. I guess GAFS hasn't regulated that site, yet...
They look like crap.

I noticed on one of my subs that on the bezel at the 12 oclock postion, inside the little triangle, that little white bead is missing. Is there something I can buy from a craft store to do myself?

Not to crap, but I wonder how good that HF press really is... I have had a lot of HF stuff blow up on me one way or the other... but the price on it is very tempting...
I decided to go with the press from Findingking, hopefully it will work. The crystal I received already has the cyclops fitted to it, hope that is not a problem. I got this one: http://www.findingking.com/StoreFrontProfi...&i=58098396
Tell me if it will work, thanks.

Ok, so I am not very good at this... I thought the end link was supposed to be split but the reast of the watch looks great to me... what do I know.,,?

I wonder if you could get the job done with this thing?

That looks perfect, thanks for the link. But I'd still like to do this tonight. I will most likely never replace a crystal again.

it really depends on the type of crystal.
if it is a sapphire (which i'm sure it is not cuz the original one wouldn't have smashed if it was) then hand pressing is easy for some cases.
if it is an acrylic (vintage), then i'd use a rubber block.....some people use a hockey puck with the correct size of hole hollowed out......and a vice to tighten things down, instead of using your hand. you will want to put even pressure on the plastic crystal and the ball of your hand might not apply it evenly.
The one in the watch that broke was glass for sure, I took the pieces out. The replacement is supposed to be sapphire.

I just got my replacement crystal for a Rolex replica whose face was smashed in. I don't have a press yet but am so tempted to try and just press it in by hand. Can I do it that way with the heal of my hand with a terrycloth towel over it without breaking the crystal? The old gasket is still in there, is it glued or will it pop out if I use a very small screwdriver? Thanks for all your help.

Any X-box 360 owners here? Just curious as I got one yesterday
I have had mine for one year now, it rocks plain and simple, especially good if you can play on hdtv.

I won't be active on the forum from tomorrow until the 11 December.
I will try and respond to PM's as quickly as I can, but most likely, I won't have any time except on the weekends to participate in the forum itself.
This ONLY affects my forum participation, NOT any planned, existing, or pending watch work that I have in house.
My participation on the forum is limited, but I am NOT going out of town. I have some personal stuff on the go for the next two weeks - that's all...
For those that have PM'd to me today, I'll try and respond before the weekend is out, for the longer PM's or those asking for watchmaking consulting, I am unable to respond...I just don't have the time.
Thanks for understanding.
RG
Have a great time away!

Well, now it's at $810. I sent a warning to the current high bidder.
That's nice of you.

Does anyone know the answer?

Anyone?

Does anyone know where I can find the right, # or code to order a replacement crystal for a Yachtmaster? I have seen a few sites but do not have a clue as to what size. There isn't any chart or similar aids, thanks.
-
Use a blunt knife, like a butter knife.. put the blunt rounded end under the bezel and twist, it should pop off..
Thanks, but how do you reinstall the bezel with the stuff included inside.
-
It is a Yachtmaster.
-
To remove the bezel, my understanding is to just use a razor blade and pry it up correct? Can anyone explain how to put the bezel back on with the parts involved?
-
I think you mean "Where's Waldo?"
No, WHO, dammit!

Thanks for the responses, I was just thinking in an anally conservative way. I figured if it stayed wound around the halfway point, then there would be less stress on the spring. I basically nothing about the inside of these watches. I have ordered a case opener and a few other things and we'll see what happens. Can anyone recommend a company that sells the tabletop viewing devices (magnification with lighting). Thanks.

The first time I wound up my Pam 126 by hand, I did it to the halfway mark (20 hours). Then after only wearing it around eight hours, the meter worked it's way up to 40 hours. Is that normal? After getting up this morning (watch sat for 6 hours), the dial is still maxed out at 40.
-
I just received my first Panerai rep from Joshua a couple of days ago. It is the 126 model. I like the Rolex reps the best but this is a tank of a watch, very interesting, nice finish and I like the power reserve dial on the face. The see-through back is cool.

Have you asked Ann Landers?

I had my watch 2 inches under the surface of my pool for like 1-2 seconds, then went inside and rinsed it off lightly in case of any chlorine. I then dried it well with a towel. Thirty minutes later I notice there is some misting under the crystal. I put the watch out in the sun, should that fix it? It's a Seadweller from one of the rip-off sites, ha ha, otherwise I like it.
