  1. I just realized that my crown barely screws in by a thread or pops out. It is a gmt master II from one of the scam sites. The edge of the crown is hitting the inside of the crown guards. It doesn't even fit, geez, what junk. I have a dremmel so my question is how hard is it shape the inside of the crown guard as to allow the stem/crown to seat properly? Thanks in advance for any help.

  2. So did you get your press? How do you like it?

If you are talking to me, it is ok, although the crystal I had received was a wrong one sent in error by Krysworks. They sent a real Rolex crystal with the cyclops already attached. I cracked the edge of the crystal trying to press it on without touching the cyclops. I have a replacement now that I haven't taken out of the package yet. Hopefully it will fit. The cyclops is separate so if the crystal is the right size the press should work. Then the only thing left is to glue the cyclops on. I hope I don't mess that up.

  3. Basically , just wondering does many feel as bad as i have all day today , lmao? i dont hardly ever drink or consume as much spirits as i did on the 31st and believe me i am paying dearly for it, just wondering how u guys felt today? lol

I don't drink alcohol and I feel the same as any other day.

  4. that statement is more tasteless than that watch.

and bigoted and ignorant. i have dozens of gay friends. my sister is gay. we most likely have gay members here. do you also believe that all african americans are lazy and all asians are good students and all jews are cheats?

not funny regardless of the number of smilies. just offensive and juvenile...

Relax hot shot, it was just a bad joke. Go unwind your panties now, you act like a crybaby. I have nothing against gay people, at one time my best friend was gay.

    Without a doubt.

And you need to have had a taste by-pass, too.

So I'll be buying two... one for each wrist. :D

    ROFL.

  5. Can anyone supply me with the most complete collection of avaiable Chinese or Eta movements online complete with pics and specs (number of jewels). I have spent around 10 hours in the last three days with mixtures of stuff. The Chinese stuff is especially hard to find, only the ST-6 could I identify. I have many watches from the scam sites that I am documenting, taking the back off and figuring what is in there against what was advertised, thanks for your help.

  7. I had the same dilemma, and I tried to remove the cyclops... it was impossible without damaging the crystal.

The genuine version should be further inside than some reps. Some reps have the cyclops in the correct spot--they tend to use the glue-on date overlay discs that are usually mis-centered.

If you get a replacement glass, it may not have the cyclops in the correct spot either, and unfortunately it may be difficult to find a sapphire crystal that is that tick and bevelled.

You can purchase the cyclops separately (good luck finding one with the correct magnification see The Zigmeister's dilemma doing the exact thing here http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=1415 ) and glue it in with the UV cement.

Regarding the UV cement you don't need a UV light, and can simply go outside on a sunny day and cure it with the sunlight in a couple of minutes. Good luck!

Does the excess glue come off by a razor blade easily after curing?

  8. Carefull with that as a cheapo will likely have a mineral glass crystal which is more prone to exploding /breaking. Don't be worried about it - sapphire can take a lot of heat before it goes. When you apply the heat keep watching the cyclops closely- it will be very obvious when the adhesive pops.

Wouldn't a sodering gun have the same outcome but with a little more control?

  9. I'm sorry, but much as I would like to cooperate, I have only been royally screwed over once, by a person who had the misfortune to die suddenly, if not particularly tragically, shortly thereafter. I have no particular qualms regarding speaking ill of the dead, but the facts and circumstances attendant to his passing are not clear, and no arrests have as yet been made.

Thus, it may be best that I not provide anecdotal evidence that some might construe to be motive.

    Funny. ;)

  10. was obessed with RC helicopter for a long time... finally i recieved it as a early christmas present.. :1a:

it is a esky electric power 6CH 3D heli... i am still having problems getting it off the ground.. haha :bangin:

    any RC owner here?

Your model and picture matches absolutely nothing on that website. What are you referencing?

  11. I like the Harbor Freight press. When it can't handle an installation, I use the dies in a bench vise.

If I could only pick one low-cost crystal press, the HB would still be the one...

Well, when you press the crystal into the opening how in the hell hard do you do it? Everyone talks about what they use and not how hard to press. I don't want to smash the replacement, thanks.

  12. Seadweller, do you mean just pull it out as far as it will go?

I found a little packet of silica and I put it in a baggy with the crown pulled out as far as it will go. How long might that take to fix. The water is very hard here, I hope if it dries it will not leave little water spots in there.

  13. You need to have the crown open if you're attempting this type of fix. Even then, this isn't likely to work, I'm afraid.

Unfortunately, Reps aren't sold as water-resistant.

How do you get the crown open? I do have a case opener now, but I don't want to mess with taking out the crystal if I can help that, too much from now, just starting out.
