  1. I don't know why my topic got put in this one, it said merged, anyway they called me back and said they had no record as putting that on this website and want to know who put it there. They are starting to ask me questions about this website and they want to know names and numbers of the owner. If this is a joke, it is not funny turning on me at this time, I have sent numerous pm's to the admin with no response yet.

Now when I try to go to any website on my computer, this is what happens: :black_eye:

  2. I have to tell everyone, this site has evidently been hacked by the FBI. I called my local office here and explained about this site but they claimed they had no idea what I was talking about, now they have my name, address, and phone #. I hope I'm not in trouble.

  4. After all the information that has recently been revealed, I think I will avoid Josh and Andrew. After being promised by Joshua to have gold plated replacement links sent to me after the bands I received from him had two seized screws, I have never received anything since February. I had to dremmel the links out to size the band. I have bought three watches from Joshua and am very happy with them.

  5. I enjoy when members tell stories about how they fooled or almost fooled ADs with their reps. But there is always the warning e-mail about how they were lucky not have watch taken or cops and swat teams called in for the stand-off and ultimate kill.

Just curious if anyone has ever had legal or other issues with their reps from jewlers or other???

Is it real or just imagined threat? I know a hardcore dealer might try to say something but can never imagine he would declare it a rep, take it and demand you leave his store....I don't think they want the hassel. Infact, I can rather see a AD just telling a rep shiner "nice watch" and laughing with the staff after the guy leaves.

I am not one to test the waters with ADs but I am looking for a local jewler I can trust that will work on my reps if I have problems or need serviced etc.

Please tell your scary stories here!

    What is ad?

  6. I noticed today that my 2531.80 had stopped, which did not make any sense, as I had not taken it off in a while. Fearing the worst, I opened the back, and discovered a rather amusing (If annoying) problem. The mechanism is held in place with a white plastic retainer (which I've heard also make good shock absorbers) but one side of the retainer had warped, and was preventing the movement's 'pendulum' (is that what they're called?) from rotating fully. It had obviously heated up and then sagged under gravity, when I last dried the watch under a very hot lamp. My sollution, was to re-heat the watch under the lamp, and I then jammed some folded up Post-It notes between the 'pendulum' and the retainer to create a suitable gap. I then chucked the watch in the freezer for a while. When I removed it, it had cooled, and, although the retainer had not returned to it's previous shape (it's a tad warped) it had enough clearance for the 'pendulum' to rotate freely.

Consider this a warning for anyone else who dries their watches under a hot lamp :black_eye::D

Well, I tried the microwave a while back for 1 minute on high. It was too hot to hold for at least 5 minutes and had a weird smell too. The watch keeps excellent time. Funny thing is, is still has a strange odor.

  7. Scooters: They trash us because our dealers don't sell A++++++++++++ Grade Super A1+++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Gen Swiss super reps. Those go for $10,000 USD. They're more expensive than the Gens because, well, you pay by the +.

    Our dealers only sell reps.

And they come with a genuine Seagall ST6, 6.00 movement.

  8. They are still up and running, but hardly as usual. A main payment method has been cut.

I am hoping that this is just Paypal taking action to protect their legal standing, and not the industry closing in on rep collectors as a whole!

No, they just take your credit card info, then call you back and inform you that Rolex has shut down their credit card charge access. They they ship cod so that after you discover that none of the claims about the specific watch are true, it is too late, the money order is gone. :victory:

  9. Im looking into puchasing a Submariner from trusty time and wanted to know for any of you that have bought these watches if the extra $150 you pay for the "Ultimate" is worth it in terms of the quality of the watch. I compared the specs to both these watches and they look about the same to me. Before i drop the $458 for the "Ultimate" i want to hear what you all have to say. If this has been discussed on here before, please feel free to point me in the right direction so i can read up on this issue. Thanks.

I say buy a second watch with that money. Do you REALLY need that extra service?

  10. I can guarantee you no-one can answer this as no-one has tested it.

If you need a fully working He valve, buy a cheap gen dive watch, like the SUG Nautilus.

I have been in chambers before under pressure beneath the ocean. There is tons of humidity in there. I wonder how well the inside of the watch would hold up especially in a salt environment.

  11. This company is one of only a few companies who will do small run consumer plating of jewelry and watches. I had a long talk with their owner several months ago about the realities of gold electroplating watches and it didn't instill confidence in me about the quality of Asian GP. Putting a 10 to 20 micron coat on a watch is very expensive ($300+) and they consider a 2.5 micron plating a heavy plating. I have serious doubts about dealer claims about 5 micron GP. Acording to this company, such a coating would not be cheap and would be of very high quality, qualifying as a specialty gold plate.

I wouldn't be surprised if most Asian GP falls in the costume jewelry range of 0.5 to 1.5 microns.

Wow, very interesting and helpful, thanks for the post. I have a new all-gold 18k Sub from Josh. I am wearing every day for the last 2 1/2 weeks. I will find out how it holds up. I don't do sports with it or get it wet.

  12. US member here...

For many US members, their Home States law is going to be of the most interest. The federal government leaves many many things up to the states... It wouldn't suprise me to find that different US states = different laws re: reps.

In my home state (Ohio) it is illegal under ORC code 2913.34 Trademark Counterfeiting to:

Manufacture (attach or affix the counterfeit trademark) whether or not the goods are intended for sale or resale

Possess, sell, or offer for sale the machines to manufacture.

Purchase or otherwise acquire goods with the counterfeit trademark with intent to sell or otherwise dispose of the goods.

Sell, or offer for sale, with knowledge that the trademark is counterfeit.

Under Criminal Rule 41 or Chapter 2933 of the ORC law enforcement may seize counterfeit goods whenever encountered.

Owning of reps appears to fall to the civil courts.... however selling (even on these boards and person to person) would be a criminal offense.

As Pugwash has been kind enough to point out... it is illegal to smuggle the counterfeit goods into the country... yes, the dealer is doing the shipping, but at your request so the buyer has some culpability there as well. Anyone who says that it isn't breaking *any* laws to purchase a rep is deluding themselves.

Like Ohio's law states, it excludes purchase and ownership but beyond that (sell), it's illegal.

  13. In the USA is is not illegal to own or purchase reps. It is illegal to sell them, like the scam sites, i.e Globalreplica, Bestswiss, Bluefakes, etc, too many to list here. As far as me selling one watch to an acquaintance or friend, that is a grey area. Nothing would ever come from it unless the watch you sold was sold as authentic and then after getting caught the seller claimed you said it was authentic.

  14. Well, I have this 18k bracelet and case (blue dial) from Josh. I have been wearing it every day. It has a little mark where when you pull up the little release flap, the edge hit the band. Now there is a little line across it. I had a couple of shallow, small scraps on a stainless band. I used an extremely fine grind wheel (dremmel type) and held the grind wheel by hand (about the size of a quarter) and the scratches came out wonderfully. I don't expect the same outcome if I try it on this 4-5 mill band, otherwise it will probably screw it up bad. My impression of 14k is that it will be more brown and not look as snazzy as the 18k. Any opinions about the 14k appearance is appreciated. :victory:
