Standard REP crown on Joshua case:

Maybe I'm not following correctly, but are you saying the top pic above is gen and the bottom pic above is standard rep? If so, I think they look pretty close...closer than your t crown picture below to my eye...

    T-crown automatic on Joshua case:

What am I missing? Or is it slightly different focal lengths and angles of photos?

  2. Welcome Grimey.

    I started with this one:

    http://www.trustytime88.com/index.php?main...;products_id=94

I liked it so much that I decided to make it a project watch. It will cost me 4 - 5 times as much as the original $158 when I'm done, but to me, it's worth the cost to have the fun of building the watch. When I'm done, it will have the following:

    Andrew case.

    Andrew dagger swan neck movement.

DSN sapphire crown with chieftang AR.

    1:1 V CG.

    T crown.

    High cannon pinion fix.

    The Zigmeister super lume.

But it's not necessary to go to that extreme. The watch is nice right out of the box.

BTW - that's it in my avitar pic...about 1/2 way done.

  3. I think this is the copy of the valagranges movement that we have seen in the choppard. (loud rotor)

My questions are after reading Joshuas description on his site and his anouncement of the watch here on RWG

    a. "Faux PR", does it move at all, ie does it on a full charge record 7 days but when not worn wind down to 0 in 2 days like the IWC porto?

    b. "one peice crown with O ring", is this a screw down or not? with a crown that big it would not be hard to rip it out if it was not screwed down!

    c. How is the lume, this should have outstanding lume, i could live with good lume like my railmaster has but this should be outstanding! Josh can we have an honest lume shot please.

All good questions Andy. I'll be interested in the answers as well

  4. Looks great. I am planning to buy a PVD 45mm rad. Of course Davidsen is priced at $420.

By the time you get the Swiss 6497, and a sapphire crystal and change out the dial, and possibly the hands, what do you think your savings will be?

I hear ya OS...If I wanted a nice complete watch, I probably would have done the same thing.

But I'm more interested in playing around with this case and parts in my parts bin (OK, not really a bin...actually a shoe box). I have a sanitized 6947 w/dagger swan neck I've been looking to use. I don't even know if it will fit in this case, but I'll find out.
