  1. Yes Bluerex...Please do. Are you replacing the the crystal that came on a standard Joshua case? If so, please also let me know if you can tell any differences. Thanks a lot, Mike
  2. Hey Lani, It sucks here in Colorado too. Prices on gas and just about everything else have shot up as well. I was checking airfares last week, and it looks like everything has just about doubled since the beginning of the year. I know you guys on Oahu have a real freeway and much more traffic than the other islands (at least in Honolulu), but I was amazed by how many more scooters (mostly Honda Ruckus') I saw when I was on the big island this year than in years past. Oh, and look at the bright side, if you can no longer afford life's luxuries (such as car, house...) at least you can live in paradise on the beach!! Poor bastard like me would have to live under a bridge and try not to freeze may ass off in the winter!!
  3. I've read that DSNs fits and costs $85(?). Can anyone please confirm this? Are there any other sources? Thanks, Mike
  4. Wow. That's a bargain!! Your link links to a Canadian tracking site.
  5. Yep. It's #12. I also just ordered #7. That's the one I really wanted (I like the stitching) when I ordered the 12, but they were out of them then. They have since made new stock.
  6. disco, You must be confusing the 111 with the 177 I also mentioned in this thread. I just double checked Andrew's site and the $158 111h shows non-swan neck. And mine definitely has no swan neck. You will probably notice the beveled gears that aren't standard on this movement. I added those. @andy - The cannon pin does look good in the pix I posted, in reality though, it is recessed.
  7. OH...That's TOO FUNNY!!! Nice camel toe!!
  8. Hey Pug...It'd go perfect with this: http://cgi.ebay.com/Elvis-Burning-Love-Jum...1QQcmdZViewItem
  9. The SSD: http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showto...mp;hl=dive+test Although mine has never been diving, it has been snorkeling a few times and in the pool numerous times. I did open it up and grease the gaskets though. BTW, unlike the test subject, mine shows no sign of corrosion. But I believe that corrosion was due to the environment in which it was tested.
  10. Well, I won a PVD homage w/dagger swan neck on ebay for $70. I was going to use that one, except now I think I'll save that for an homage project since it has no Panerai markings on it. I ordered Andrew's $228 177 with dagger swan neck. I'll swap that movement with the standard Asian movement the 111 came with. That way I'll still have a pretty nice 177 and a more accurate 111.
  11. Thanks SS, No work needed on the tube, but there were 2 gaskets, a round flat one and a round "o-ring" type. I had to remove the o-ring gasket, but it still seals and is water tight, at least in my sink
  12. Thanks Athan. The strap is Strap Culture Legand II.
  13. Hey all, I just bought Andrew's $158 111h. All in all, it's a very nice rep. The biggest flaw I noticed was that the crown sat way too far out from the case. I moved it closer by filing the stem a little, filing the CG's contact points (or legs), and removing the o-ring style gasket. I was able to retain the other "flat" gasket which seems to still be doing the job of keeping the case water tight. Next up is a dagger swan neck movement transplant, then off to get cannon pin fix, and super lume. I'm also trying to get a hold of a V CG and will be buying a T crown. How does the crown placement look? A couple more pix: EDIT - to add a little more detail to the crown mod.
  14. AWESOME!! The corkscrew is probably the coolest piece of any race circuit on earth...Have fun.
  15. I use a product called Shoe Goo. It's water proof and can be removed if you don't use too much. Just put about 8 small drops spaced evenly across the back side of the insert and press firmly for about a minute. Let it dry overnight and you're good to go. If you have some ooz out, a little acetone (nail polish remover) will remove it and shouldn't harm the insert finish. I've used this on my sub and SSD and both have been in pools and the ocean without a problem. It's also a nice adhesive in that if you get a little between the case and bezel, you can work it out by rotating the bezel several times. it will probably squeeze out between the crystal and bezel insert in a little rubber ball. Good luck. Mike
  16. You forgot "...and all the chicks dig me". POOP ON YOU!!! <- That's you. (My wife keeps telling me I need to grow up...I have no idea why she thinks this??)
  17. And don't let it hitcha where the Good Lord splitcha!!
  18. Well that explains a lot...must have been the sugar cane I ate last year... (not really) Thanks for the offer, but not needed. We have it about once a month, except we cook it in a slow cooker. I even have a online source to order poi!! Interesting side note - My brother used to be one of the front desk managers at the Waikoloa Marriott (old Outrigger) on A-Bay. He became friends with the guy who prepared the food for the luau they had at the hotel twice a week. The guests think the pig they are eating is from the pig they see being pulled out of the imu. It might be, but that pig doesn't produce enough for everybody, so they also prepare additional pig in their ovens. And if you are ever in the Waimea/Kamuela area on da big island, the guy who did the luaus owns a restaurant called Hawaiian Style Cafe that is excellent. It's a local favorite. TONS of great food for little money!! But bring your appetite!!
  19. We were just on the Kona side late march / early april. We didn't find any lilikoi on the side of the road, but we did pull over and chop some sugar cane to chew on for awhile. There is a restaurant in Hawi called Bamboo that claims to be the largest consumer of lilikoi in the state. They have a chicken cordon bleu with a lilikoi sauce that uses kalua pig instead of ham that is outstanding. They also have lilikoi margaritas that are delicious!! They have live local traditional music on fri and sat nights. It's kind of pricey, but well worth it. Neat story about the building too. It used to be, among other things, a brothel during Hawi's sugar producing days. We'd love to make it our first home, but I can't seem to convince my bosses to let me work remotely (sonsabitches!!). The thing that really sucks is that my brother that lived in Hawi just moved back to Colorado last week. No more free room and board.
