  11. Triodus was originally supposed to be Troydus X, pronounced T-roi-dus X. A nick name for Troy from one of my buds. So what happened. As I was signing up for a brand new Hotmail account about 15 yrs ago, my dumbass misspells it Triodus instead. I do believe that I was liquored up at the time. I just kept it ever since. "SOF"
  12. Go with the Gen Strap. I've had both and the Rep strap sucks. It attracts dust like a magnet. The finish on the gen is far superior as well. It is well worth the cost. "SOF"
  13. Looks great! I am a big fan of the 4-ring straps. have several myself. "SOF" PM Sent on bracelet.
  14. I think the Black looks better, I would go all black with no stripe, But that is my preference. I have a 4 ring Zulu on my monster, all black. It looks awesome! "SOF"
  15. Dude, That is freakin awsome! be sure to post photos when you get done. Good Luck! "SOF"
  16. Looks like the real deal to me, you can really tell by the finish of the rubber. I had a rep band and you can definitly tell the difference. It appears to be one of the older versions with the engraved wings, the newer ones have the recessed wing logo on the buckle. Great looking strap. "SOF"
  17. Yeah the new list price for the Diver Pro strap is $110 in the Brietling Dealer price listing.
  18. Thanks Bro, This is great info. I have avoided the temptation to mess with mine too much so far!
  19. Find your nearest friendly AD. You can go on the Brietling web site to find it. Not much luck finding these online. Sometimes over at the Time Zone forums one will pop up for sale. For the $85 it cost to buy a new one from the AD, it is worth the peace of mind having a new one and one that you know is GEN for sure. Good Luck.
  20. I thought you guys might find this interesting. So I purchased a GEN Diver Pro Strap for my SOH. I got it home and installed it and noticed that there was a gap between the band and the lugs. After some reasearch and some info from some of the other forum members I realized that I had the wrong size band for my watch. The Diver Pro comes in three different sizes, 18/20,22/20 and 24/20 I believe. Anyway the SOH takes the 24/20, I got the 22/20. So what was I to do? I could spend another $85 to get the bigger size(I still may). Enough of my long story. It drove me crazy with the gap between the band and the lugs. So I started thinking about what I could do to fill the gap. I came up with some very small o-rings, just the right size to go over the ends of the spring bars and about 1mm in width. Once I got them over the ends of the spring bars they filled the gap nicely. I know that this might not work for the super picky. But it is just quirky enough of a fix that makes me like it. Besides I've seen enough strange stuff on lots of watches that unless someone really knows what it is supposed to look like, no one would know the difference anyway. It has kind of grown on me so I may just leave it and spend the money on something else (more watch stuff of course). Check out the Photos and I hope you enjoy! Unless you know to look for it, it is not really noticeable.
  21. OK Guys, First I must apologize for not posting my photos. I took some and I can't find the damn cable for the camera. The wife put it somewhere and she is at the movies so they will have to wait. I have a better camera at work anyway so I will take some photos on Monday and post them then. So here is my amatuer quickie review. Please keep in mind I am only going off of comparison with photos of the Gen, I haven't had the chance to go to an AD and see it yet. First thing that we all wondered about, the Ceramic Bezel. It looks much better in person than in the dealer photos, it does have a really nice shine to it. The numbers don't look as big in person as they do in the photos. The color depends on the light that you observe it in. In bright light the numbers look brighter than in low light. The definitly have a grey/silver tint to them in lower light. With that said, it is very impressive. Next is the markers, the border around them is not terribly large. Perhaps bigger than the Gen. I will have to wait until I see it to make a better determination. I will say that as is typical with a lot of Reps, the lume is slightly un-even (not completely uniform) on some of the markers on my watch. Not too bright either, but I have seen worse. Crappy Chinese QC. The Band looks really nice. I had to remove three links to fit it and thought I was going to be OK until I had one of the screws act like it was stripped. Luckily, I was able to get it done without removing that screw. So as has been reported earlier the screws in the band are an issue. The clasp is really nice, my only complaint is that there appears to be a fingerprint on the inside portion that was not wiped clean so it has imprinted itself. A little work with the Cape Cod cloth will probably remove it. My only other observation on the band is the spacing between the end link that mounts against the watch body and the second link of the band. It seems to be slightly raised and have a larger gap than the rest of the links.( I may just be looking too hard). The Crown looks pretty nice, seems to be larger than the standard Sub Crown. Crown Guards are Fat. They look Ok to me. But without seeing the Gen I can't say for sure. I didn't have any problem with any of the settings. Yes you can quick advance the date. I set my GMT hand for Zulu time and then set Local and don't plan to change it again. I don't want to temp fate with this movement. So far it is keeping good time. So with all of that said. Overall I am still impressed with this watch. It looks awsome! I am definitly pleased that I got one of the first batch, especially if they aren't going to do any more of the "Correct Hand Stack" models. It wiil be getting so serious wrist time for a while. Hope this is helpful.
  22. Hoorah Lanikai, Let us not forget the sacrifices made by those who fought and paid the ultimate price so that we all, those of us here in the USA and our brothers & sisters around the world, can enjoy the freedoms that we have. "SOF"
  23. Well I couldn't stand it any longer. I ordered one from Andrew this morning. Now I get to wait impatiently for the rest of the week. "SOF"
  24. Price is posted, Drumroll please.......................$388. Josh and Andrew both have it up. Time to spend that hard earned money!
  25. This is a subject that stirred up some heated debate last year. As The Zigmeister put it then and now, there is only one way to do it right. "SOF"
