  1. [We should do a group buy of good quality round threes open 6/9 date discs for the ETA.

The DW on my old MBW 1680 red sub is perfect for the 16800! And it has a 2836-2 movement which is also perfect for a 16800/16610.

All you'd have to do is get some of those DWs from MBK- take a trip to Thailand!

  2. The 3035 is CCW like the ETA movements.  One major difference is that the DW advances CCW on the 3035 though.

YES!  This is why for the 16800 the ETA is a good sensible choice. The date wheel change orientation is not too bad a deal breaker for me as long as I can find a good date disc for it. I may actually use that approach in the end and use the 3135 for the 16600 when TC decides to get some good cases, or for my v3 16610.

  3. "I tried sending a PM to Stilty for two of his adapters. Does anyone know if he's still around?"

He moved a couple years back and afaik he has more or less dropped out of the hobby. The adapters he had worked great but they are probably long gone unless someone on the forum coughs one up.

You can usually get by with a standard brass Eta spacer from Raffles Time, Rouhelena etc and have it fitted to a particular movement/case combo by someone handy with a small lathe with a 3 or 4 jaw chuck. I made a few out of brass flat washers and they only cost around $1USD each but it takes an hour or two to cut one to size on my small Sherline lathe. Cutting them to size...that's the catch, it just takes too long and I will not make one unless I absolutely have to

Stilty's adapters were cnc machined and iirc they were around $20 each.

Figures. I was after the adapters for a 1016 build and to finish a 16800 using a 2892 and gen dial/disk instead if the y3135 movement.

  4. I have the current v-series TC Sub case, a genuine 16610 dial and genuine case screws (3135-5100). no movement holder and no tabs right now...

Gould work just fine. The screws need to be screwed in all the way prior to inserting the movement/dial/hands package into the case. Use the cutouts as a guide to which way the movement should be inserted. Once in, align the movement to the stem, insert stem into movement. Then simply release the movement screws out and this is how you keep the movement in there. It is the opposite if using tabs/screws. The movement screws should be all you need.

  5. I have no idea what you're talking about with the case ;-)  It's from someplace called "ST" you see...  They've since discontinued the 3035 case which is a shame because it was a lot better then the 3135 case they offer.  Yes, movement was gen but I purchased it as "Serviced" from Correctime here and it was definitely not serviced.  I sent it back to him to have it redone and he went dark leaving me out about $1500...

I have rebuilt this sub with a chronometer grade 2824 and TC dial and it's SCARY accurate!  Better than some gens I've seen actually...

I will be parting ways with this sub soon though, the financial hit of the stolen movement is still lurking and it's somewhat soured the pride I gained in building it.  Keep an eye in the FS section if you need one!

Shame about Correctime and his 110% gen issues. I hope you get that back brother.

The 2824-2 TC movement is very good also. I have been running a TC with this setup and dead on. For a 16800 build the 2824-2 may be a good option, plus the hands move in the correct direction in relation to the crown.

  6. I love it when some Hi-jacks this thread. I've never seen close ups to Helenarou's dial. It's impressive. Just wish they would come up with a closer to gen case case specs. Also, show some more updated pics of that improved MBW! Sent Via Tapatalk HD
For the money is not a bad dial. Too large for a gen type case, but in a silix case or raffles-time I think it will be perfect. The dial is originally a 29mm dial. I trimmed 1mm off but the HR hands are a tad long.
  7. Looks like a scam site to me as well.First off, they would all be in jail if this was really a Swiss company based in Geneva! The Swiss anti-counterfeiting laws are really harsh, and enforced with a vengeance. So I would bet that part is a hoax. Also while they list a bunch of movements, I couldn't't see any movements for sale, just watches. This may well be a phishing site, you sign up and it opens your computer to all sorts of bad stuff. Or folks take advantage of that wonderful 20% off deal and wire them the funds, never to hear from them again!

That's exactly what I thought. I couldn't find anything else on here and this is why I posted it.

The "magic" Swiss oil is such a cheesy thing.
