Wow, some really nice watches today. I'm Sporting the Monte on Folded bracelet.

That looks like the BK case. The little movement notch matches one i bought last year with same serial number
-
Wearing the 16610 today. The case has been re-polished again. I sure will miss it.
-
That dial looks very familiar to me.
The case will need a new case back as previously mentioned. If you're keeping the 7750, then just source the new case back. If you are dead set in using a v72, honor the investment with a better case. Will be leaps ahead.

No. Just measure and go

Lol How about a Hurricane Franken system? Franken Cat 4 for 4 gen parts and so forth...
I like that better. Then one can have a Franken Cat 6 watch and hold on!

For me, franken is a mismatch of gen and aftermarket parts. I do think value is added the rarer the gen part is.
For example, I listed a 16800 watch several months ago as a hybrid/franken based on a combination of gen and gen replacement parts with aftermarket(asian) parts
I have been calling my 16610 a franken, although some may call it über Franken because it has:
gen dial
gen hands
gen crystal
gen gaskets(all of them)
gen tube/crown
gen date wheel
gen clasp
All running on a fully serviced y3135 which has gen stem and date jumper. The case is an ST sterile case, which I hope to engrave soon if I keep the watch.
Now, my 7032 is a true hybrid(not as much as a franken) as it does have a gen valjoux movement(but not gen as being one previously installed on a genuine 7032 per say. Although to make it gen one could change the bridge and install a true genuine date disc) gen pushers and crown(not tube) and a few high end parts that are not genuine. I guess the source for the use of the word genuine should / could be revisited.
I would not call my 5514 a franken as it only has a gen 702 crown and tube and a gen eta movement. The gen eta movement was not NOE to the watch so it is pointless. Although the case has a gen like HEV system and it has a gen bezel construction and plexi, etc...

I have measured some gen crystals versus say Clark's and TCs and the thickness from the gens as I have found varies from 2.21mm to 2.18. With a gasket of 2.73mm I was able to get the right height. Patience is key. If you have a TC crystal(I think TC sells his at 1.8mm ) and a 3mm you'll be too high. Yours looks a tad too high, but not ridiculous. Water resistance is more important

love it!!!!Some people really have a knack for putting together a franken, too. Others... not so much.
What do you call it? A wowl?
-
I keep coming to this post for inspiration. WOW!
-
M have fun brother!
Woof, I love that 5512!
Same ol' Franken today.
-
again: VERY NICE!
glossy 14060 (16610 sized) dial time? nudge nudge
That would just be sweet if we can get a few of those built. E

Hahaha. Once school is over I will be able to set up correctly and experiment more with different lenses and light combos.
-
Thanks man. I was giving you grief.
Cerona, are you implying my sub is a $100 unit?
I'm still learning to shoot watches. Freddy and Ubi and Lhooq by far have some of the best shots constantly. It's all about patience and trial and error.
-
You can always buy a whole watch as a donor.
If the gen hands, dial, disc and stem fit then it's a good alternative.
-
Thanks C, I wanted to show the grain structure of the dial and had to play with the shadows a bit(I hope you were talking about me ).
-
This all day.

Back to the norm. 16610
-
Like that Burb strap for sure. Nice combo. The next step is a lume shot just to make sure.
-
That dial looks odd. The markers have too much lume or is it just me?
-
Haha. I guess it depends on who is doing the search Pete.I always found that once I started talking about my love of poetry and big men with moustaches or posted videos of me dancing...that people usually deleted me any way
I wonder if this gets rid of cached content or just takes your information for future storage.

I would love one for a project I have been holding off.
