  1. I got a LONG way to go.... Grats on your 1000th!
  2. Incredible watch....now only if I had the patience....
  3. Here's pic of my Aquatimer. I used to use it as my daily beater, but for the past couple of months, I've been wearing only reps. I don't know what happened to me after I found this forum two months ago......with 9 new reps, I haven't had time for the gens....... I ponied up over $650 for the SS bracelet last year, but I almost never have it on. The rubber strap is so much more comfortable.
  4. I'd have to second that China would be the number 1 by far. From the several times I've been to China on business, everywhere I look there are people with replicas. You can see thousands on the street worn by the average person (Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong*, and Shenzen). Even in the factories of Taizhou or Tianjin, line workers are wearing Rolexes when their average monthly wages are $200 per month (at top tier foreign companies). However, for the high end replicas, I would think the US would be the largest by volume, but second to Europe if calculated at per capita purchases. I typically find on average that Europeans are more conscious and pay attention to fashion than the average American.
  5. All in all, the iPhone may turn out to the the next smash hit for Apple. From what I see, I may be one of those in line for a pre-order. Millions of consumers as well as corporate users may dream for the new iphones, but yet I could not see the IT personnel nor senior management giving the go ahead for corporate use. Cost would be only a single part of the equation. Corporations do not hand out these devices for employee satisfaction, but for business purposes. As mentioned in a previous post, some companies have bans on camera phones. I know that at my own company, they frown at us using our BB for personal e-mail use. Even if Apple were to surpass RIM in creating a better system, I think hell would probably freeze over before management gives us iPhones with MP3, camera, video, plus all those nice features outlined....
  6. The site goes down momentarily for me as well, but never for more than several hours.
  7. Hardcore Blackberry users will not migrate to the iPhone. For the majority of the corporate users (med-large corps), it is the ability to sync with their network and the reliability of the group push functions that allow RIM to still dominate the market. There are many competitors that may have more features and functions, i.e. Moto Q, Palm Treo, the new Samsung Blackjack, etc), but many of these additional features that do not really have much to do with business. They are more geared to the technophiles or the trendy consumer segment. In addition, the BES server is much easier to deploy and manage over a large network than its competitors. (BTW, BES servers can log almost anything done on the phone.....be careful guys.....but very nice for corporations to spy on its employees). That being said, the iPhone was probably not designed to be marketed to the corporate world, but probably geared toward the consumer market. I believe that Blackberry also saw that the consumers were willing to shell out money for a stylish and trendy phone as shown with their launch of the Blackberry Pearl. The iPhone may eat away at the 8100 series for RIM, but shouldn't make a dent in overall corporate world during its initial launch. I'm not sure about the rest of you, but with the exception of 2 people, the dozens if not hundreds of other Blackberry users I have met had the unit provided by their respective companies. I highly doubt that these companies would be willing to shell out the extra dough for iPhones..... Personally, my own Palm Treo takes a backseat to my BB 90% of the week. I like the functions on the Treo, but the BB is much more efficient at getting the job done.
  8. I have spent 99% of my life on concrete with rarely a plant to be seen and really had no desire to venture out into the "wilderness." However, as I upgraded to HD cable over the holidays, the Discovery channel in HD and these pictures have started to convince me I need to take a break and visit nature.....and no....I don't count the all inclusive resorts in the Carribean as "nature."
  9. Thanks fellas. I should have put in original post that the 104 is gen. I got about 9 PMs overnight asking about it....
  10. I got my PAM177 for tomorrow as the titanium makes for a excellent daily beater. Sorry no wristshot available.
  11. I'm a little behind the technology curve when in comes to photography. Regrettably, my only experience with me behind the camera was several years ago at a friend's wedding (that was with the disposable cameras left at the reception for everyone to take of each other). However, I just received from my wife a new digital SLR that I'm toying with. Please excuse the crude photos today is my first time behind the lenses directly from the camera. I have no program to edit these yet. Anyhow, here's couple pics of my PAMs. I will be putting up the other photos in their correct groups. PAM177 Watch is from EL and servicing done by Vacuum Lume is courtesy of Vacuum who has done an excellent job in addition to the canon pin fix. PAM104 Date mag only works when looking directly perpendicular (this is why I usually don't get mags...I'm still young) Pardon the crud on the back as it came straight off my wrist Still got a "best" PAM127 Fiddy from EL that I will be having Vacuum mod and will post pics once that's done. Enjoy!
  12. Interesting...... I do quite a bit of sailing, but the only time any water gets on my watch is the spray from the bow or from the bathroom sink.
  13. He's around. Best to send him an e-mail rather than PM.
  14. Same here. Once I walk into the house, the watch is taken off. I usually change my clothes once I get home and the watch goes back into the case.
  15. You should definitely send it back. I do not have any of the faults you mentioned regarding the watch. However, I do agree with Admin regarding the clasp. I haven't had the watch clasp pop open on me yet, but I could see that if you wear your watches real tight and flex or [censored] your wrist hard, the clasp may pop. While at the AD during the holidays, I did try on a gen HBB with the rubber strap. With the watch sitting on the wrist, it feels nearly the same, but the clasp is much more solid on the gen. Other than that, I could not find any other faults with the watch....but then again I'm not one of the members who go through everything with a 10x loupe
  16. Even crazier part was I had to fight to get it discounted down to $200 from $250......
  17. I actually purchased the gen with the SS bracelet, but after a couple of weeks, I ended up buying the rubber strap. It is MUCH comfortable and IMO looks much sportier with it. Only drawback, I should waited for the rep to come out with the rubber strap. The gen rubber cost me $200....
  18. Soon...I also gotta post some pics of the Dior gaucho bag I got as well.... Wife loves it....
  19. You can check out Sash. Got a couple Mont Blanc from him.
