  1. I also got the same question. I actually cracked 2 fingernails trying to pull it apart with my fingers. I even tried it with a knife with padding and no luck.
  2. I also have the same question. On my Ingie, the rotor doesn't seem to swing freely at all. The only way it swings more than 1 revolution is if I swing it pretty hard (whether fully wound or no power). The Zigmeister did respond that it could possibly be a defective click wheel, but for the past 6 days, the watch seems to keep pretty accurate time, but I do hand wind it every couple of days. However, on my watch, there are slight clicking sounds when the rotor swings. Dealers says that this is how the movement is supposed to be and the watch should make sounds if it is operating normally. I will be sending it to get serviced anyhow as this is one of my favorite watches. Is this really normal?
  3. I'm interested in this too. Supposedly there is 7th gen PO out there, but can't seem to find it. I think Josh/Andrew's is the 6th gen....but I could be wrong.
  4. I just wanted to point out to other members on the forum about some of the sales EL's been having. I wasn't aware he had these going on, but just wanted to spread the news in case others out there haven't seen them either. I guess he only offers the special price for a single day. Its already Day 4. Check it out http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=17028
  5. Supposedly there were two genuine versions. One with short and other with long hands. At my local AD, I saw a used Ingie with the shorter hands. With exception of the date font, the IWC Ingeniuer is one of the most accurate reps. The only other two that could be close IMO would be the Tag link chrono and the Omega SMP (after reattaching bezel insert).
  6. From a fellow newbie to another newbie, use the search function extensively to help build your knowledge base. However, that being said, I must second that the Fiddy from Eddie Lee is the best out of the box. However, it is not cheap. You must request his "best" model. With a relume, canon pin fix, and Davidsen hands, you can have a pretty damn accurate piece. I have one that's getting modded. Should have pictures up within a couple of weeks once I get it back.
  7. I was wondering if some of the more experienced members or those having the the IWC Ingeniuer could chime in. I just received my IWC Ingie and I must say it is a beautiful watch. The movement is a swiss eta 2824-2 automatic. I'm fairly new to the rep world (longtime lurker), but have purchased many in the last month (3 watches w/ swiss movements and 4 asian). I must say that this is the most accurate of the reps I have purchased, but this rotor seems to "grind". To clarify, when swirling the watch, all my other rep watches seems to swirl freely (w/ variations) whether they are swiss or asian. However, with this watch, it seems the rotor swirls 1 - 1.5 revolutions whereas the other watches swirl at 2.5-4 revolutions. Also there is a clicking noise when swinging it a bit harder. I'm about to send the watch to get serviced, but want to know if this is considered "faulty" or something normal out of the box. I've had a couple previous problems with my other watches, but the dealer bent over backward to rectify the situation, but I want to make sure this is a problem before notifying him again. Maybe I've been been spoiled with the other "best" reps and this is normal..........
  8. Will the strap be swappable with the original Ingie?
  9. I'd get one just so it could sit in my case and look pretty! Kinda too flashy for me to wear about in public unless I was pretending to be a rapper.
  10. So for the fiddy and 177h, the C3 is correct. THanks for the info.
  11. Was wondering if some of the PAM experts could chime in and help me. I'm sending my PAM reps from EL to be relumed (ultimate Fiddy and 177H). The only offerings in lume color is the C3 and C1. Somewhere I read that C3 lume was the OEM color. However on gens, the color seems more whitish with an ever-so-slight tinge of green. Is C3 the correct color? It would seem more C1 than C3 to me.
  12. I think all the PAM have C3 as the lume. Wait til others chime in to confirm it..... =)
  13. Thanks Gioarmani. Makes sense as this place deals with gens on a regular basis. Its Kent Parks at Everest in case others are wondering.
  14. Sorry for the noobish question, but can anyone tell me what the difference is between redial and dial relume? Is it the same thing? There is a US based relume service provider that says that they will not take anymore orders for redials, but for relumes they will continue to schedule.
  15. Marc Jacobs....however some gen can now be found at discounted pricing at the outlets.
  16. Better to spend your money here than playing the MegaMillions or Powerball. At least the proceeds go to a better cause.
  17. Anyone have suggestions for which glue is best for watches? Particularly gluing the bezel insert.
  18. Wow!! Over 950 members online today....people are out in force today.
  19. Ouch...that's almost half the cost of the watch. Watch is beautiful, but the rep strap is one of the worst I have ever seen. Makes it feel like $25 dollar POS off a street vendor. Thanks for the info.
  20. Does anyone have any recommendations for strap replacement on the Cartier Santos? The one that came with the rep is about to fall apart... Would you be able to fit a gen replacement strap on this watch? I know that the case dimensions are slightly off....
  21. It could just be an optical illusion. On my gen, it looks uneven from a distance, but up close, they are even. Guess its the eyes playing tricks, similar to the static pictures that seem to move.
  22. Here in chicago, the dealers claim that the Panerai brand is still very hot and selling better than ever. My local AD sold out of almost all the watches with the exception of 7 models. I've been tracking the price of the watches for several months hoping during the holiday season the pricing would drop a bit, but it has not come down even $1 from MSRP. I asked how the online dealers were selling for hundreds cheaper, but according to them, most online dealers are not authorized dealers and the warranty is void if purchased through them. Not sure if this is true or not. Although they didn't discount on the watch it self, the store manager offered to throw in 2 additional bands free of charge, so yesterday, I popped my Panerai cherry and got the 104. I've purchased several PAM reps to save some loot, but now that plan has gone down the drain. Not sure what the relatives will think of me when they get boxed chocolate for the holidays....at least I got some nice authentic straps for the reps.
  23. No one has any info on this watch yet? I'm definitely interested in this as well.
