  1. I would have never found MQ with out you my brother! Thanks man! It was a bit of a head ache as this took me 2 rejections to get him to make me what I was looking for! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I still have the white dial and hands but I don't feel they have any sort of real attachment to my watch as they are service dial and hands and are not actually vintage but a remake of a vintage dial. I bought the watch hoping to find a genuine dial and hands with meters first. I'm sure I will and I'm sure it'll cost me some real coin but for now I'm totally content how the dial and hands came out on the watch. The date window isn't the best as the date was centered perfect on the white dial but I can live with it. Only other thing I'm keeping an eye out for is a gen 9315 bracelet Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. Big update so.. my build plans went from a phong build to then just buying a gen 1680 from the late 70s to finding a gen 1969 2.2 million serial number with a 1969 case back but full of service parts replacing most of the hard to find components.. so my journey for a red sub ended up with a gen red sub with a MQ dial and hands. I am searching high and low for a genuine METERS first dial and hands but for the time I'm happy with the set up I have being my watch is 100% true to what the MQ dial is.
  4. Useless comment with out purpose.. he is just giving encouraging words to those who may be pondering using MMM for a future build.
  5. If it's a V7 your first clue should be the bezel action. It'll be close to or same as gen
  6. What are the specs of this watch! Nice!
  7. Looks awesome.. one thing I've always wondered is how in the real world do these gens get their dials and hands so beat up and tarnished? Were the watchmakers back then just savage on their handling? Too many times I see gen vintage watches and the dials are beat..
  8. I've had many and never had an issue. Use the right screw driver and you should be good. The head of the screw driver should fill the screw itself all the way.
  9. Isn't vintagewatchmaker related to phong?
  10. Already on that route but if another IWC rep uses the same crown and tube it'll be much cheaper as a quote of 250.00+ is already a bit too high
  11. I am needing a crown and tube for this watch but looks like the dealers are no longer carrying this model. My question is are there any current models out there that use a screw down crown that is similar in design? Thanks!
  12. Matt is an incredible watch maker and an even more incredible friend! You're in good hands with Matt!
  13. That's the one on eBay. I was half tipsy and half awake when I bought it and didn't see the special quality but who cares.. it came in and it looks amazing. You guys are about to see something truly amazing here soon on my 1680 project.
  14. I don't but someone mentioned a dark lord roams around these here parts? Someone in a dark cape perhaps? I wanna see some subs to!
  15. Looks good though so if you're happy then that's the only thing that matters
  16. Would love to see other members MQ dials! Thanks
  17. It's very very hard to find a solid end link solid mid link 18k after market bracelet let alone the right clasp.. this would work for a Datejust as they are very common but I don't think this route would apply on a 116613
  18. Buy your seller before your product..
  19. The bezel insert is from a 16610.. other than that the bezel itself is a little worn Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. So here's the gen 1680 I picked up from VRF from a reputable supplier.. she is super healthy as far as case and movement are concerned. I've contacted Minh Quy for the dial and hands! Hopefully there isn't a terrible turn around time for the dial and hands.. also got a new bezel insert which is a faded fat font insert.
  21. Just bought this insert and was wondering if it's well.. a true "fat font" insert! Thanks guys!
