  1. Update - the cyclops maker phoned me esterday and the cylops will be shipped today using UPS so it will only take a couple of days to cross the pond to the US - getting excited now!!!
  2. Gentlemen, the datewheels have been ordered and paid for so in about 4 weeks or hopefully less they will be delivered so that they can go off to the printers. So think we are looking at 6 weeks maximum. Patience is a virtue- as they say!!!
  3. Rep is on the righ!! Nice work Rob, now I will definitely have to do mine. It could be the C had a bit of dirt covering it rather than Rob touching it up!!
  4. I can tell you about the 63 - the faults are: minute hand 1mm too long, date numbers wrong font but a fix will be available in a few weeks, the date cyclops is too small and not powerful enough and again is about to be fixed very soon. Crown is the other thing that needs sorting and again will be available soon. Make sure you get the 2893 version as this is a proper GMT movt
  5. Thank the lord for that. My other one will also be on the way in the next couple of days (they assemble them to order) - at least there was an immediate response from Ken with an apology for the mistake. Not sure if it is in desperate need of servicing yet and if anything did go wrong I would swap the movt for a swiss 7750. Have just had the back off and see that the movt is the old 188/196 etc asian 7750. It has the shiny but brushed looking plates - not the matt silver type that is in the 212. Also there is a rather nasty looking plastic spacer ring holding the movt in place - will have to keep the back on!!
  6. If the rep has an asian 7750 then yes it would. I do know that the PAM dials in the 44mm Luminors are exactly the same size as the gen, so if the case has been copied from an original it's likely the dial dimensions are the same.
  7. Sorry dude but it's for a friend who has already paid. The advantage I had by using Angus was that he did the deal with Honpo so the price was 76,000Y not the 100,000Y that Ken is. Actually my own theory is that Honpo and Ken are the same!!
  8. who's he trying to kid - 0 feedback as well!!
  9. It seems that the Chinese made 6497 is beginning to show it's hand. I have just had one here where the centre wheel (this is the gear that is visible in the centre of the movt and is driven by the mainspring) had seperated from the lower part. This meant that it would wind briefly then the hands would spin round as the gear loosened so allowing the mainspring to unwind. This is not the first one that I have heard of with this problem.
  10. Ken is Honpo's agent in the US. He usually does not answer emails at weekends but will in the week. Angus (Puretime) actually got this from Honpo (but was also dealing with Ken) so the price I paid was the Honpo price.
  11. Veni - you cannot be serious. You should really not let this guy get you down like this. What is he - nothing!!
  12. I bought my first rep about 2 years ago in Greenwich market. A Patek and an FM for £40 each (not too bad!!0, then last year on holiday in Beijing I visited the Xiu Xiu market - bought a PAM 111 with ETA for £100 (shows you the markup we have to pay) from a dealer (the whole end of the top floor in a dept store sized building were watch dealers all with a box under the counter with the swiss movts!!) and that was it, hooked. Found old RWG first by accident one day last september so have gone from 1 - 14 PAM's in less than a year.
  13. Apart from the killer 187 and my PAM 24 all are Swiss movts, and the 2 former watches are an easy upgrade to swiss. I understand about having a gen and maybe one day I will but at the moment these will do for me. I have 14 altogether and it has got to the point where I don't know which one to wear sometimes!!
  14. Yep, definitely just a cheap asian auto with a stuck on rotor plate.
  15. Man - I almost slept with it on!! This one has just about pushed my GF's "pathetic male" tolerance level to the max!!
  16. By the way did anyone know that St George was in fact Turkish and that he is the patron saint of several countries!!!
  17. Just thought you should check out this seller on ebay - watchpool - http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Watchpool-Shop-fur-Uhrenfreaks Got some very interesting stuff in his ebay shop.
  18. Man you got that right - that's one lovely strap!! I'm a south London boy - Brixton!! 2nd june is ok with me, I work in Knightsbridge so easy for me to get anywhere - or come to knightsbridge!!
  19. Mmmmm - just can't seem to take it offf!!
  20. I am not suggesting that every dealer describes it like this to be dishonest or misleading but in the cases where they are described as such (you only need to look at Silix or Perfect clones websites rather than some listings here) to see what I mean. There are some that clearly say Synthetic sapphire that I know for a fact are mineral glass.
  21. David if you can wear the fiddy you can wear this no problem. It's the same diameter just a lot thicker/taller. The quality is superb. Only flaws are the dummy He button which is laser etched He but should be engraved, the date is sunk down the same as the 188/196 asian 7750's but is less noticeable due to the matte dial (not so much shadow). The dial is beautifully printed although I understand tha the blue lettering 1000 is not quite the right colour, the bezel clicks around at 1 minute intervals as smooth and sweet as you like!. The pusher locks do up nice and freely unlike a lot of the Daytonas that I've seen. The CG lever snaps shut nice and tight so I would be confident enough to take this baby deep in the water (making sure the caseback seal is lubed and tightened down properly). One fault on mine was that one of the strap screws was stripped but found a spare fiddy screw for it. Also had to cut a small bit of the rubber band where the tang goes to accept the QR buckle. Date pusher is a genuine pusher but does not work because the movt spacer ring has no cut-out for it - so it's blocked off! The strap is probably not as good quality rubber as the gen but until I can compare side by side I will say that it certainly looks the part and is very well and accurately moulded. They send a spare strap with the watch which was a nice touch!! My formal opinion is if you want it and can afford it what are you waiting for - unless it's a 7753!!!! (Don't forget there are still rumours circulating about possible availabilty from our dealers so no need to rush as I don't think Honpo will sell out overnight).
  22. Thanks dude - though my original plan was to be the first on RWG - but you beat me too it as you took the direct route!! What's the number on yours?
  23. At last the story almost ends - I say almost cos there should have been 2 watches but only 1 in the box!! Still for the moment I couldn't care less - enjoy the pics. This shows the AR coat Final wrist shot - might see that a few times on the FRWC!!
  24. On my way in 10 mins!!! It's so exciting I can barely contain myself!!
  25. Don't you just hate the holier than though's 187 owners!!! Of course pics!!
