What I have found is that on the plain dials you can file down the minute hand tube to .44mm then it fits the top of the cannon pinion properly. The cannon pinions are all the same size on the hand fitting whatever the length of the pinion. But you have to make sure that the hour hand does not touch the seconds hand. If the dial has been re-lumed then it is a bit more difficult as the second hand now has to clear the raised lume leaving less clearance for the hour hand. On the Fiddy the second hand is much smaller so the hour hand clears it no problem. Then the minute hand (filed down to .44mm) or Davidsens hand will pop straight on. The Lume on his hands has very little excess under the hand so there is almost plenty of clearance between it and the hour hand - recessed pin gone!!!

I hope to be able to supply the wheels ready done. I can do this because I can buy them as ETA spare parts unlike the 7753 wheel which is not available as a spare (unless you are a brand name).

This was mainly from my fiddy. Everytime I bend my wrist the CG digs into the hand and it rubs on the wrist bone as well.
-
It's not an allergy but just a consequence of the CG and caseback rubbing the skin!! Not painful or anything like that - just one of them things!!

Look - this is what happens after wearing these lumps of steel for too long!! Scarred for life
-
Yeah!! Artwork for these is in progress at the moment but I have so little time for all of lifes little variances that I cannot go any faster. I hope to get moving again with this in the next week or so but it could be another few weeks until we see the wheels.

No the lume on the hour hand is wider than the minute hand and should be. Also the circular end of the minute hand is a slightly larger diameter than the standard hands which is also better. These hands are really very good and they are in super lume.

You do not need the capped hands for the fiddy. Just get the normal hands and they will fit perfectly and no recessed pin anymore. I have done this to two fiddys already.

I've seen the Gen and it's definitely C3. I cannot think of any PAM that uses a different colour except the Tritium types (there is a PAM 24 that uses a very light grey Tritium) and maybe some of the ltd edition Radiomirs use a whitish lume. It's confusing because in the Panerai brochures the lume looks white. I had the same problem judging my 188 which looks white in the pictures but is also definitely C3. Also some photos show the lume as green but that is a result of it glowing slightly under photographic lighting.

No just the standard crown - one of the better ones luckily.
-
Good grief I still got it wrong - what am I doing, it must be friday
-
Now all we need is the Arktos and the PAM 24 and 199 to come out with the 7750 - perfect for converting to a swiss 7750 (unless these are the new movts).
-
oops - it's a PAM 124 sorry.
-
Why it's a PAM 090 of course. I say the date mag is good on this rep!

Fear not my man no need to chase me the lume will lume

Just looking into getting a DLc coating now as the TiAIN is a little too purple tinted under some lighting - not sure now waht Panerai actually use to coat them. I will give a proper answer about the dial later (at work so have to earn my keep).

Wasnt until I went to fit it that I realised it was too big so I had to line up a standard dial on the new dial and score a line with which to grind to!! Simple as that! Ubi and Euno - thanks for your help, the next dial will have a little more orange. I did do another with the old radiomir colour but it looked way too coral pink and I didn't like it at all. The numerals are wrong - I know, but not a lot can be done about that. Crucially this is marked as T Swiss T not T-Swiss-T which is also a shame

I have a lot of photos of Pre-A PAM's some of which seem to be a sort of yellow colour. Some are more orange than yellow but it is difficult to gauge from photos that may not be colour corrected and as far as I can tell this is not far off. It is very slightly more yellow than C3 lume.... Euno - can you send me some pics of your Tritium if its easy to do. I had to trim the dial using my hand motor (like a dremel but more adavnced). This is only a prototype till I get the proper dial for the series so any help is welcome on the colours. The lume is a mix of C3 with some yellow fine grain dental porcelain stain powders mixed in. I think for the next OP logo dial I will add a little orange as well. sssurfer - sorry for keeping silent on this but it is/was a prototype for - guess what - my next service; PVD coatings. Just got to finalise the pricing but it will be very competetive.

Thought you might like to see my new project. I had the case PVD plated by a UK company that has done a proper TiAIN coating. The case and bits were beadblasted then coated. I used one of Davidesen's dials, which is unusually a sandwich dial so I was able to fill the pierced numbers with lume (coloured yellow) so that the lume is flush with the dial (just like some of the Pre-A type dials). The correct dial for this to match the caseback (5218-201/A) should be the OP logo without sub seconds which I hope davidsen will release soon (he is working on it) so I can fit it to this. Anyone who buys these dials should be aware that they do not fit the standard PAM case, they are 35.25mm whereas the dials we are all used to are 34mm so you will need to reduce the diameter if you buy one for an existing PAM rep. I will make Davidsen aware of this and hope he can correct it, but he makes these dials to fit the cases he supplies which are different to the ones we are all used to. My other criticisms of these dials are the surface finish which is matt and should be a satin, and the screen printed lettering for Luminor Marina etc is not bold enough - it should be whiter and slightly raised, again like the dials we are all used to. Next on the list is the PAM 27 PR to convert to a PAM 28.

Update to that - no good. The 44mm crystal is too big. The Arktos and Subs have a 32.75-33mm crystal.

Try Jimmy on ebay here: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Aftermarket-crystal-...1QQcmdZViewItem It should be the same size but have not checked it.
