  1. Not the first one he has done - nice price for this Breitling Aveneger!!! http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...item=8914486699
  2. Just saw the same thing - down right dirty rotten scammer!!
  3. The 212 is a domed crystal like a smaller fiddy type.
  4. No need to file them down if you ask Davidsen for the short tube hands - they come already in .44mm - perfect fit on the pinion. The only ones I have definitely not been able to do without changing the pinion is the 183. The fiddy is the perfect candidate as a slight angle on the hands is almost impossible to see because of the optical distorting effect of the thick crystal.
  5. Newlite is another product from RC Tritec. It's like Luminova without the super!! I think the glow time is slightly less and it's cheaper.
  6. I have indeed had a set of the black capped hands through here. Like The Zigmeister say's they do an admirable job that is a good solution (permanent or temporary) for the less fussy among us to the cannon pin problem. I will add that I re-lumed another fiddy this week and was able to get rid of the pin problem just by filing the minute hand tube down and having a very slight angle (but not noticeable) on the hands - works a treat and under close scrutiny looks better than the cap. One thing about Davidsens fiddy hands is that the circular end of the minute hand is a larger diameter than the rep one which is much more accurate, so I would be getting a set of them cap or no cap anyway - also the finish of them is much better than the rep ones too - they are a must have mod!!!
  7. No they are all mineral (as I discovered to my dismay!!)
  8. You could always commission a run of these as that is the only way we will get them in sapphire!!!
  9. Well my 7753 powered daylight is accurate to within +/- 20 seconds a day. I dont think you could ask for more than that!! They can all be adjusted anyway so it's not a big deal if they are not 100% when delivered. If you really want precision you should always go for an ETA movt wherever possible.
  10. Very interesting - conflicting news from some of the rumours circulating around.
  11. Bit of a sore subject at the moment as it's back to the drawing board for the 7753's - bloody frustrating I can tell you. 2893's on the back burner until this mess sorted out.
  12. There will be another run of these once the cyclops are done as quite a few might want them doing after having the new cyclops fitted. Will update the post nearer the time. The ones I have had back are very good. The tint is a blueish purple and looks very cool. However the one crystal that had a rep cyclops (not made of sapphire) came out the worst as the cyclops had newtons rings visible on it. This will not happen if the cyclops is sapphire (which they will be soon!!).
  13. Mine should be with me from Homer tomorrow - I hope!!
  14. Nice job Rob - damn fine piece of work, especially considering how it looked at the beginning. I doubt I could do nearly as well on something like this.
  15. What I cannot understand is that the prototype crowns that were shown in the original old RWG thread on this were damn near perfect, so why the hell are they so completely wrong now!! It would be so much better to not bevel the edges at all then at least the appearance would be much better. The whole crown problem is such a simple thing, I fail to see why it has not been corrected. Remember these from the old RWG - prototype next to Lello crown (middle) and rep crown. Original thread here: http://www.replica-watches-guide.com/forum...=33049&hl=crown And the crown protoype that was eventually settled on by everyone So how come we don't have this?
  16. Sorry for the bad news - I have not fitted it yet so I will just return it to you with the other bits as soon as they are ready.
  17. Thanks for all the praise fella's although I should admit that I do not always get it 100% each time as a couple of people already know, and I apologise for the odd mistake!!
  18. OK here are the pics as promised. Excuse the crap quality - no time to mess around with photography for this but they should clearly show the problems. Thickness 2.13, a bit too much but better too much thab not enough (or is it). Now the head on look - looks a little rounded, as you will see why. Now we see where the problem starts. Teeth only 1.31 wide +/- .1 (difficult to measure accurately) - way too narrow. And here's why - our good old friend the overdone bevel. See how it extends beyond the teeth onto the side of the crown. It is not the angle that's wrong but the amount. The bevel should just be at the ends of the teeth only and no more, so all the bevel has done here is to narrow the teeth. And again. Here is a little reminder of what it should look like. Now there is room to remove some metal from the outer edge to reduce the width so reducing the appearance of the bevel, but the teeth are still way too narrow for that to achieve anything- they should be about 1.65 wide. So there you have it - draw your own conclusions.
  19. It would certainly be popssible to shave a little off the outer edge and indeed that is what I would do, but the inside edge would be more difficult without some sort of lathe altough I'm sure some people would manage it. Have a look later when I get the pics up.
  20. @ Markus - it has arrived. My opinion is at risk of upsetting some - I'm going to be brutally honest here (sorry Markus but it needs to be said) - they are not what we hoped for. The bevel is still the same as the reps crowns. In fact it looks just like a rep crown only thicker as the extra width has been lost with the bevel. I did think that enough photos and descriptions had been posted prior to them being made, but it seems they were largely ignored. There was little wrong with the rep crowns apart from the bevel going too far into the meat of the crown and extending on to the side wall. All that was needed was to have a 1.9mm thick crown with just the ends of the knurled teeth only being bevelled. Back to sqaure one as far as I am concerned. I will post close up pics tonight.
  21. 4th version - nice to have a 7750 but the bezel letters are still wrong. C'mon Eddie whats going on here. In your post saying it was on the way you mention it having the correct bezel font, but it aint!!!
  22. The details are all there - one of the pics has the prices and ordering info - I can tell you that I just had a reply about the PVD buckle straps and he only has 2 left, so not sure how often he stocks up.
  23. Theres a Tan Pre-V with PVD buckle that would look nice on my 5218/201 project.
  24. Check this thread on the Risti's site http://www.network54.com/Forum/353391/mess...AT+THIS+BARGAIN The watch they are talking about is here: http://www.chrono24.com/web/en/suchen/u/in...nzahlgesamt=200 Now there is no way that is a fake - the seller might be but thats a gen in the pics or I'll eat my!!!
