  1. What makes you so sure of that?
  2. The irony of this is that although Lello's crown was actually thinner than the gen (1.85 I think) it still looks thicker because the bevel is pretty much spot on. The quality of his crowns varied and some almost had no bevel on one side (I think he was hand finishing them before they were plated), they were plated brass and a bugger to fit but they did look the part, and I'm afraid to say that I agrre with one of the comments that this looks like a bigger rep crown. Why 2.1mm when there were enough posts with measurements taken from at least two gens that says 1.91. It is indeed the bevel that is again the problem. Here again are the best photos I have of a gen crown and shows exactly the problem. You can see that the bevel is about 45 deg but it only bevels the ends of the teeth from their trough to the peak only. It is when this extends beyond the teeth onto the crown that the narrowing occurs. The other thing is that they look slightly rounded. Not convinced until I see a third party review - especially at the price.
  3. Only sunglasses, same as when you look at SL!! It's non toxic and even though the company has a glamourous name don't be fooled!! The interesting thing is that it is rare earth Europium based which I think is the same active component as regular Luminova. Super Luminova has an extra ingredient I think - correct me please.
  4. Just a quick thanks to one of our members - Cracker, who very kindly ordered some of the Lume from United Nuclear (I love that name!!) and sent it to me free of charge - how about that!! Thanks a lot. This stuff is not sold outside the US (which is why Cracker got it for me) and I have to say that whilst it is not as good as super lume the colour is almost C3 and the glow is very very good. It would certainly be a cheap substitute for less discerning members who maybe want to have a go, or those with cheaper type reps that cannot justify the cost of a proper re-lume. It would need mixing with a varnish to use it but ids so cheap you can experiment to you hearts content. Personally I will stick with SL as it is the gen stuff, but then I can be very anal at times!!
  5. Good grief Veni - youv'e gone strap mad!!
  6. Blimey you don't ask for much!!! The rep movt is based on the Venus 175 (not Lemania) and is made by the Tianjin Watch company of Tianjin - China. This movt is used in their own domestic market watches and was not made for the rep market but just happened to be perfect for some models and is called the Seagull T19, here is a link to them - maybe you could email and ask them if they could make a new version of the Lemania instead!!! They have a range of watches and that some look very familiar!!! http://www.zhonghuawatch.com/tjho_all.htm
  7. I did post this on the old RWG thread but he is a well known scammer and this is not the first time he has done this. He claims that watches are shipped within EU to avoid customs etc - STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS SCAMMER
  8. Guys, sorry if I have caused confusion on this - all I can say is that I have done 2 fiddys now without the need to change the pin, and my PVD project with Davidsens dial is also without a pin change and his dial is thicker than a standard 111 type dial by .2mm. The only issue I found was to make sure there is no excess lume under the hands as the clearances are tight but it does work. The 183 dial is a lot thicker than the others at 1.25 so the fix will not work on this one.
  9. Never!!
  10. Ditto - welcome.
  11. Don't remind me!! Hello and welcome.
  12. G'day mate (even though I am English - I am surrounded by Aussies and Kiwi's at my work). PAM's are my thing - welcome.
  13. No thats a different wheel - sorry.
  14. I don't want to know!!
  15. Not sure - still treading softly!! I will look into the 7750. As soon as I find the right printer we will see.
  16. It's also such hypocrisy to build a hommage watch (as someone over there is doing without any screams and shouts from the others) - which is essentially the same thing as our reps - a fake!!!
  17. Send them on in - just got new stocks of lume so plenty to go round!!
  18. It could be done - I would need to prepare artwork. I am still looking for a better printer than the one doing the 7753 who struggled with it. The set-up cost for making the screen (and they cannot be done in a batch so are done individually) is what makes this expensive so unless there was a lot of interest then it's not worth it. The 2893 is a about to become rare and because it's' the one Panerai use it's worth doing them (and I have 2 2893's myself!!).
  19. Thankyou Gentlemen , your praises are most humbling.
  20. Fortunately for them any jeweller will immediately spot it as a fake - yeah right!!
  21. Thanks for all the advice guys but the clue was in the title - the area on the back of the hand is like a callous - a toughened area of skin from the CG rubbing over the past year!! The wrist bone is the same (I have a fairly prominent bone) and is abrasion rather than reaction. The pics were just a quick snapshot without spending ages correcting it so they look more red than they actually are.
  22. I have a full parts list for the 2836-2 but you will need to be more specific as there are a couple of parts that it could be. Is this an ETA part or is it a piece that is made by the Chinese rep factories?
  23. Dave - you took your time!! Welcome on board.
  24. Now you can see why - its radioactive burns from the lume!!
