I totally agree! Thanks for the tips.

...my friend, selling a cheap and poor watch, doesn't give you the right to describe it and showing pictures of a much better one. I also warned this vendor, that I would have sent back it, if different from what advertised... Now it's a principle for me to get refund. If I won't, never mind, at least this thread will be useful to suggest you guys, to stay away from DHgate.

I can't hide that deep inside myself, I also have the same worry.... This long waiting to see the first dial totally reprinted, makes me feel a bit nervous. You have to know that this guy is VERY VERY busy all the time. He has several employed people working for him (around 15), but the thing is that I definitely want him personally working on my dials, as the last time one of the employers put her hands on my dials, she didn't make a good job (maybe he is paying too low salaries . I couldn't believe it when he told me that they have an average of 100 dials per day to re generate!... Now this guy went to Switzerland for a few days (I was informed today about it and I'm not sure he finished the two dials he should... I will find out tomorrow morning.

Thank you very much for your precious informations. I'm also intentioned to get this beauty right, so your tips will be very useful. Let me study the situation carefully, then I will decide which way to go... I'm not sure if I will manage to get a refund for the scammy watch though..., the guy already took away the item from his products and is not answering anymore But this won't stop me to hold on on this UPO Will let you know...
-
The watch I've got, it's 15mm thick, so I don't think it's thinner than the UPO. Maybe the one you have it's less than this... This has the Asian 21J inside, maybe this is why it's thicker.

Can you tell me if yours have the logo too large, or if it has it at the right size? And in case, where did you get it? Here are the two 6th generation reps shown by By-Tor and Flavor Flav. As you can see, the second one has the logo oversized... and it was got from Joshua.
-
Said by you By-Tor, I guess I should follow your suggestion. However, just to avoid misunderstandings, the one I've got, it is a 45,5mm, but with 20mm lugs and it's not the 42mm version, otherwise, i would have kept anyway. I didn't mention it so far, but the bracelet on this watch I received, it's totally crappy, as it has empty links and not solid ss... Consider also that I would buy the 6th generation anyway, because the 20 mm bracelet on this giant, looks quite strange to me. I'm sure you also noticed that numbers are not exactly the right font, although the dial is very crisp. It's not the recovering of the $, but just the principle, as I really warned this guy very clearly that I would have sent it back, if it wasn't the same watch displayed and described... Anyway, I noticed that on your Omega best rep watches review, the UPO 45 you show there, has'n the logo oversized, as it is on Flavor Flav watch, he bought from Joshua... Can you, or anybody tell me where I could find the UPO 45 with the small logo?
-
On DHgate, you at first make the payment to DH gate, rather than paying the seller. Then, only after the transaction is completed, with item arrived and accepted by the buyer, they give the money to seller. You are entitled to open a dispute and get refund (but not shipping cost and import tax that I paid), in case the item was not the same as advertised. This is why I think I could get refund. But as I definitely want to get the best PO 45 rep, I was wondering if it is really impossible to find it with the logo at the right size. If not, I could even decide to sacrifice this watch, only to replace the logo on the good rep I'm going to buy... Does anyone knows if logo is always oversized on the ultimate version?...
-
I decided to open this thread, hoping somebody will be still interested to this great watch. I did it, because I just received a PO rep. After over three years during which I only purchased from our dealers on RWG, I decided to gamble buying from a seller on DHgate. He was advertising and also showing pictures of the latest ultimate 6th version PO, for just USD 120. I told him very clearly that if i would get something different than that, I would have refused it and shipped back, asking the refund. I know, I was looking for troubles and I knew what I was risking... ..., in fact the watch it's much different from that. The bad thing is that it has 20mm lugs... Anyway, before I send it back, I want to show you a couple of pictures, because after I read the Flavor Flav review (in photography section), I noticed that this watch has a very well done dial, where also the Omega logo has the right dimension. I also have an idea of the possibility to use this logo, to replace the oversized coming with the ultimate rep, but after a little mod to eliminate those wrong wings on feet. (see pic on the bottom) I'm wondering if this watch I've got, it's just the same old version which also all the other dealers were selling before this last 22mm lugs version. Would you think it could have sense to keep it just to use the logo? I would appreciate your opinions guys...

New 6th Gen Po Review And Gen Comparison Shots!

I made a careful analysis studying the dials pics of gen, rep 7753 and rep 7750 of this Pam 251. Pics have been resized to match as better as possible one over the other one. They don't line up 100% all over the places, because of some distortion due to the slight different angle of shots. But I believe that the main subjects of this analysis, as indices dots and main types, are quite right in proportions, so it is somehow possible to make a trustful comparison. If you like to try, just download (drag and drop) these three images and put them in one single Photoshop psd file and play with the three layers to see the differences. From this study, I traced and figured out the size of diameter of the indices dots on each dial, because this is probably the main flaw of these rep dials, especially on 7753. The results I came up with, are: GEN = 2,1mm 7753 REP = 2,4mm 7750 REP = 1,9mm I did that, because speaking with my printer, he told me he has in stock some spare dots like these ones and so, I needed to communicate him the precise size, to check if he's got the right replacement. If so, we would be able to upgrade the dials, replacing the dots with correct ones. Other considerations regarding other elements are: - Main type on 7750 rep, look too small, while on 7753 rep, it is quire right in proportions, just very slightly too high. - Numbers 20 and 10 on minute subdial, on 7750 rep are too small. - Wouldn't need to mention the T swiss made T on 7750 rep. - There are also other minor tiny differences, but they are unimportant to me. Minutes hand on reps is around 1mm too long. This is what I managed to do with these pics I found around. If anybody of you would have further informations, to contribute to this thread, it would be great. Gen: Rep 7753: Rep 7750:

You opened this thread and this is fine for me, really. Although I would have waited to see the first dial totally re printed, which I will receive early this coming week, along with the new DWs runs. Didn't want to advertise yet about this possible chance to re print dials, until I will be 100% sure about the quality... But as the secret is now revealed, I will answer to your questions: - 1) Blank dials can be even raw brass, or already painted, or whatever..., this doesn't make big difference. The best situation would be actually having the dial which comes on the rep, delete everything and re print it totally with correct fonts, proportions etc..., plus superlume of course. Not always this will be possible, as i.e. some of the vintage Pam dials, have engraved numerals to be filled by superluminova and sometimes also covered by transparent varnish. In these particular cases, as my printer is not willing to produce dials from scratch (for legal reasons), we would need to source them somewhere. Actually i'm not 100% sure that he will be willing to print brand names and logos, on blank dials... But I'm confident that especially if they won't be many, I could persuade him to do it. He is an authorized printer, who has the formal permission from all the watch companies, to re print their names to "re generate" genuine dials. Factories from Switzerland call him directly when they need to re print dials, as they sometimes collect returns or dials to restore from big dealers. - 2) Files would be perfect in Cad format, but of course, any graphic file would be also good, if very well made. The good news is that my printer, already have many cad files, or clich

If the watch was supposed to come superlumed, I would ship it back right away, asking also for a compensation as a refund for this bad service..., maybe an extra strap, or box etc... If the lume sould be re done, there's no point to be upset about the white hands and in the meanwhile you send away the under dial and hands for relume, send back the upper dial to the seller for a replacement with L swiss made L.
-
the watch is looking quite good to me and the strap is very nice too, (where is it coming from?) Reluming these sandwich dials, it's pretty easy, so I would definitely go for it, sending just the under dial to one of the modders. if you are able to disassemble it, otherwise ship the whole watch, so that he will also make a full check up. I'm not sure if the correct pinions are available somewhere, as recently I didn't follow up this issue. Regarding the CG/crown, if you are not planning to replace the crown with a better one, I would surely add a gasket inside it, as this probably will solve the matter of lever being loose.
-
I just spoke yesterday to my printer about this issue. He answered that he is not willing to make dials from scratch, but he won't have any problem to re print existent dials, even with names and logos.
-
This was my first intention. Actually I would have preferred doing it on 251, replacing the dial on the 7753, with the one of 7750, and bezel or case as well. But the thing is that 7753 and 7750 dials are different and not interchangeable. I would prefer 251, because I already have the 196 (I'm re printing the dial of it) and also because I'm still missing a white dial watch. 188 is too similar to my 196 and also, the black numerals make too much contrast, for my taste. Also, the recessed dials on 250/251, makes the whole dial much richer.
-
I know this is not a present subject matter, as this rep was out a while a go, but I hope some of you is still interested about it. Useless to spend words about how rep makers can be so obstinate and perseverant in making such silly flaws. They keep correcting some and making wrong something else. My personal opinion is that they do it on purpose, just to keep for them selves the chance to make an upgraded model later on..., but this is just my 2 cents. Breaking a rule I imposed to my self, this time i could also be willing to spend lots of $ in a rep with 7753 mov. But how can we do that with such evident flaws? Paradoxically, the 7750 version has less flaws than the 7753, although the recessed date makes it recognizable right away. To make a very good rep of this model, we would need to re print the dial completely, on 7753 - 250 and replace dots on 7753 - 251 (which I'm not sure if it's possible, I have to ask) This is one of my favorite watches in the whole panorama and I would really like to have it. Right now I'm very unsure of what to do. As some of you might know, I'm trying to make some dials totally re printed. I don't want to spend more than these words about it, because if the first two dials (which I should receive next week), won't come out very well done, all will be useless then... In the meanwhile, I would like to know your opinion on this 250/251 issue. Here you can see some pictures with rep vs gen. Any comment will be appreciated!

... maybe the correct dial will not be a Holy Grail anymore soon... ... but forget what I said...

How can they write on catalog AR coating and sell watches without AR?.... We are not talking about our dealers (with all my deep respect I have for them )
-
My supplier here in Florence (Firenze), has them in stock. Not sure about the price, but it should be something around

What do you think of this hybrid 036 with black dial and with polished ss CG, to better fit with the titanium/polish SS bracelet? I think it's great, but I'm going to re convert it to original state.
-
Maybe it's been said already, but 036 has AR coating. See two specs, one from official source and one from an AD:
-
Yes, but out of joke, to make it really 1:1, you would really need it side by side. Not to mention if you want your jeweller doing it for you. Personally I think I will leave it as it is, or I will make sides polished... ..., can you imagine going every day to compare your case to the one behind the AD shop window, until you get it right?

Pam bracelet is a piece of art. However, there are watches more indicated to be on bracelet, than others. Models with bezel/case polished/brushed are the best with it. What doesn't let me wear my Pams more often with bracelet, is that the genuine bracelet has the links getting narrower when approaching the clasp, while on the reps all links are the same width.
-
...good advise.... I will need to buy a gen, to copy the brushing..., then if i will re sell it, I might waste just a few hundreds of Euros...
