  1. Shipping everything to The Zigmeister, whichever mod you have to make, it's always the best and safest way to go, as he is far the best! ...This being said, it doesn't mean that sometimes somebody could manage making some mods on his own. I might be wrong, The Zigmeister could say that, but I think to remember, around one and a half year a go, I made a post about how I managed to take away the old cyclops and put a new one on a Pam crystal and The Zigmeister thanked me to have done that post. Anyway, the misalignement could only be along the ray of the crystal circle. This can be easily avoid using a premade circle cardboard mask (dima), with externally the same diameter of the crystal and a squared hole (widow) of 6 x 6 mm (or 7 x 7), previously carefully cut in the right position (see pic), so that you just drop the new cyclops in that hole and the right position can't be missed. This window, in case of the Pam 063, stays at 4,5 mm, from the crystal edge and you can make some tests, before you disassemble the old cyclop, until you get the right position. I made it several times already and recently with two very powerful cyclopses 1,8 x (Watchmen) and they work very well.
  2. Several comments above are 100% sharable... I think that when somebody insinuates that your very well made and upgraded rep, is a fake, he (or she), would say the same even if you would wear a gen, because very few people can spot those little things, only actual experts, or crazy people like us rep's maniac collectors So the best way to react, is to behave as it was a gen, simply saying "do you think so?" Personally, I tell to all my friends that my reps are reps and my gens are gens... , because I can explain in details to my friends, what's the sense of it... But sometimes, to somebody i don't know, it's better to do not say anything about it and let them think what they want. But, the owner of a gen, if he really cares about his honor (and his status symbol), could always say: Do you bet?..., let's go to the AD shop and let's ask them if it's real or not...
  3. If you use the right method, there's no way to damage the crystal... Don't forget that Pam 063, needs a 6mm cyclops, not larger. I'm thinking to make a tutorial to replace the cyclops, but I will do it during the Christmas holidays, next days...
  4. ..., Ok then, how can we solve this matter? Any ideas?
  5. Hei!..., I like more your avatar, than your comment here! ... I thought there was a B serial sometimes..., somewhere..., somehow...
  6. I use a soft cloth (to clean glasses lens) to protect the CG and pin, and small pliers to put the pin back and it works fine to me..., I hope this helps.
  7. I really don't think the Palp crown could be wrong here. Perhaps there might have been some differences on crown thickness on the 063 productions, but there are surely some that have thick crowns. Here is another pic of a gen.
  8. Yes..., I also heard it could come without AR..., I was just talking about this with Chieftang... But is there a way to make sure?
  9. Yes, you can bet!..., the feeling it's really great. Owning a genuine I think can give you something different than this, but I wouldn't swear which is better!
  10. ...yes, I'm sure yours and mine 063 will be unbelievebly close to the real deal then. Don't forget that the genuine uses a 6mm cyclops and not 7mm.
  11. Hi guys... just thought to show you my 2893 Pam 063, after all the upgrades I made on it. Right now, only the AR coat is missing..., then it will be perfect! Mods made: - Genuine tritium hands set (from Adam-co) - 1:1 crown that I further polished (from Palp) - Correct datewheel (from Lello) - 1,8x sapphire 6mm cyclops, as for gen. (from Sssurfer) - Dial re lume - Genuine alligator strap (from Panerai Firenze boutique) The total cost, included the rep price, is over 1000 € Here are a few shots..., let me know your thoughts, if you like.

  13. Hi all, I was wondering if anybody ever replaced the crystal on a Submersible Pam. I just got a Pam 199 from Josh, which looks really great, but as you probably know, it has the cyclops carved into the crystal and so, if I want to replace the cyclops, i need to replace crystal as well. Any suggestion where I can get one?
  14. I just had my 063 back from re lume here in Italy. I'm not really sure if they used the superluminova, or what else, but right now it works well. I will ask if they used the superluminova and if not, if they could anyway... It's the company which makes also my datewheels, so we now know each other well and maybe I could also ship them the superluminova, if they don't have it. I will let you know.
  15. Thank you very much my friends. Your tips and opinions are very useful to me and give me a more clear idea of wht to do now. I saw a couple of interesting Pams on internet US shops, very reputated I think. The only reason to buy a watch in the boutique here in Florence, is to get a Pam 228, only 100 pieces made in end of 2005 and available in florence shop only. Would you believe a limited edition of just 100, could mean it would loose less value? If not, I will go for the preowned on the internet. Are you sure if I buy in US, I won't have to pay custom tax when it gets here to Italy?
  16. Hi guys, I know several members here posses at least an authentic watch, so perhaps somebody of you could help me in this. I have a couple of genuine watches, but none of the very famous ones. I have the intention to purchase a genuine Pam. I'm not sure if buying a preowned one, or if go for a brand new. And I'm also concerned if buying it overseas, as right now it would be a much better deal for us Europeans, to buy in the US. I'm also wondering if these watches, immediately loose value, (as it happens with cars), or if they could keep their value, especially if you buy a limited edition... Any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you.
  17. I agree, it should be all features working and so, I'm afraid this will remain just a mission impossible!
  18. I'm going to have a look at it in person on this coming wednesday and I will let you know my impression.
  19. But not fat enough, and most important, too beveled anyway, at least on mine.
  20. try under the desk of the prettiest colleague of yours!
  21. Sure I remember, as I own one of those. Unfortunately, it has black dial, instead of brown... The crown on it was a bit different from the others, but wasn't correct anyway. This one looks much better and I hoped the narrow gap between case and crown, was due to the pic perspective.
  22. HEI GUYS, AM I DREAMING, OR THEY JUST STARTED TO MAKE CORRECT CROWNS!!??!!!!
  23. YES! this looks as the real thing. This is not only looking as the real thing, but it has the same mov as well. (perhaps just less bps). And don't think the bridges are not correct, because 036 didn't have swan's neck bridges! HEI GUYS, AM I DREAMING, OR THEY JUST STARTED TO MAKE CORRECT CROWNS!!??!!!!
  24. I understand what you mean and I respect your opinion, but I can't agree with you, because despite to all the features, they managed to keep the design very sober. Thats I think is why the GMT hand is black and small and no GMT scale is there, but a very small and elegant night/day indicator. If you campare this dial to a chrono + date, this is much simpler. Its natural that we don't have all the same taste, but it's a shame, as if we were all enthusiasts, they would maybe produce the rep.
