  1. Actually I googled G Shock and they have some quite nice Ana-digi models at the moment. I prefer the Oceanus though, although the prices are pretty crazy...
  2. @Maxman - what's the big deal on G Shocks? They look Fugly to me!
  3. Two 7750's - zero chrono usage. Given the choice between a chrono and non chrono version of a watch I'm always inclined to go for the non chrono as there's less to go wrong. Most action my chrono will ever see will be to time a boiled egg!
  4. EMS shipping to UK is usually OK. I've ordered 8 watches without problems - the last of which was the HBB Green Magic last Wednesday. If you want something from within the UK talk to Reg (Narikaa). I don't think he's got any Hublots at the moment.
  5. @Watchmeister - yes I think you are right, although I don't think this is a dealbreaker and when you are in sunlight it lights up nicely. It's no Lou Ferrigno though!
  6. OK Here are the pics. The green on the dial and hands looks to be slightly metallic, so in daylight the dark green brightens up to a more lime green colour, like this : Here are some more wrist shots The green stitching on the strap and the clasp are very nice: There's a little bit of stand off between the crown and the side of the case on my copy: Clear caseback is nice
  7. Guys My Green Magic arrived today and It has had a couple of hours of wrist time. I'm not sure why but my initial reaction is of slight disappointment. Don't get me wrong, it certainly is an extremely credible looking rep, but there's a few things I find annoying. 1. The lume on my copy is pretty much nonexistent. The green colour is quite dark, compared to the 'lime' green of the gen, but it catches light really well. 2. It does not have a screw in crown, like most of my other reps. I don't know if there is an O ring on the stem but it still makes me a little nervous about water resistance. 3. The ceramic finish is lovely, but the watch does not feel as light on the wrist as I had hoped with the ceramic caseset and leather/gummy strap. To counterbalance this The caseset detailing is just stunning, from the knurled bezel to the sandwich construction to the engraving on the crown and textured pushers. AR is good with a slight purplish hue, and this helps with the dark green detailing on the dials and hands. Strap is really comfy I wanted a 'stealth' look and there is now doubt it looks stealthy! I have a big meeting in London tomorrow so no pics tonight, but will post some tomorrow. N
  8. Mine just cleared customs. Should be with me soon ready for photographing! N
  9. Have you seen what's embedded into the fuel tank? A Gen BR01 ... Of course the first time you pull up at Harry Ramsdens for some Fish and Chips some blighter is going to swipe the watch for sure! Also very cool is the belt drive (no metal chain to forget to oil). I never saw that on a Harley before. N
  10. @Picoweb : I'm glad your QC experience has been a positive one. This is the benefit of buying from a trusted dealer. Before I found RWG I tried ordering a few reps and homages from various sites, and generally my experience was very unsatisfactory - wrong colour watch, and even a completely different model one occasion. I hope your watch will fulfill your expectations when it arrives... Best wishes N
  11. Fair enough. Aliexpress has several acrylic displaystands around the 20usd mark
  12. At the risk of being called Fanboy ... I think building a good reputation with your dealer IS helpful. I've had polite comms with my TD for several transactions, and when the movement on my ExpII packed in I sent it back and he fixed it and shipped it back EMS free of charge. Now he may have done that anyway but I am sure that the polite comms (and the colour of my money) helped. Clearly experiences of receiving a different watch from that in the QC pics should be shared with the community, but I think this sort of thing is likely the exception rather than the rule. I've had just one issue with a QC image set and it was dealt with promptly. I suspect the TDs get quite a lot of email traffic as it is. Large volumes of queries relating to individual watch sales is going to slow things down so speeding up the QC process has to be in everyone's benefit.
  13. @Wolf : mine is now on its way. Have you received yours yet?
  14. would be kinder to your automatics to display them in a winder
  15. Again I think I know who this is, but will respect privacy. I have chosen not to publish QC pics for my watches, but I do post images and initial impressions once they arrive. You should take QC pics at face value. They allow you to see that you are being sent the right watch & strap combo, and demonstrate that there are no gross visible defects in the item. If you see an order number on the watch that matches yours, and an EMS bill with your posting details, then all is good. When I ordered my LV somehow the address got mixed up with another order, and the QC pics let me put that straight. The forum gives you a lot of information on what to look out for on each watch. For example pearl placement on a PO can be a little off. Some of these thiings you can spot on your QC pics. Ultimately you won't know about fit, finish, and function until the watch arrives. For me the whole experience - the waiting and anticipation is part of the fun
  16. That Longines Legend Diver is a thing of beauty! It's also not *that* expensive as a Gen ...
  17. Bryce It looks like an Alpha watch caseset and a 6497 style movement. Does this $100 watch look familiar? http://www.alpha-watch.com/details.php?myid=475 N
  18. Indeed. No idea about the name. Mind you, I think that of all the Swiss watches Hublots have the most confusing names of all!
  19. Folks, Came into a little tax refund so I now have money for the Green Magic. I placed my order with Joshua just now. Will post a review when I get it. Josh said the Green Magic is 'outrageously good'. I was a little tempted by the Ice Bang II with titanium bezel and C1 Super Luminova, but I prefer the 'stealth' looks of the Green Magic. N
  20. Sadly the Green Magic fund has been diminished by the (ridiculous) cost of having 4 new Glow Plugs in my car! Hopes for the first wrist shot are on Wolf ...
  21. Ah the 7ron watch! Well they sort of made it ... http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2011/10/tron-inspired-watch-finally-makes-it-onto-human-wrists/ Except somehow they took the original concept http://www.tokyoflash.com/blog/2010/10/tron-inspired-led-watch/ and made it with nasty matt plastic and cheap blue LEDs. No way I would buy that. I still hold out for a more gen looking appearance! N
  22. +1 for Josh When my Exp22 movement died, he repaired it and shipped it back FOC! His QC pics are good too...
  23. @Wolf - did you go for the Gummy / Leather or the rubber strap?
  24. Man! I had not noticed the custom datewheel - thanks for pointing it out. If I have money I will probably order one of these after Christmas. Anyone got any experience with the deployant buckle? My other reps have bracelets or Tang buckles.
  25. Folks, I was looking through Josh's site and came across this Green magic all ceramic watch: http://www.1-pc8838.com/0hbev10023-bang-green-magic-cercer-p-11749.html QC Pics http://imgur.com/a/hXpHo I've never had a ceramic rep before, and my only experience of ceramic is with my Gen Rado. Anyone got or seen this watch. Would be interested to hear your views on it. It certainly looks like an impressive replication. N
