  1. Yep. I got lucky with the pearl. Anyone had any issues with waterproofing on their 45.5mm UPOs? I've been treating it with kid gloves but I want to wear it out with the kids today, and it might get wet after a nappy change handwash (the kids you understand, not me!)
  2. Oh! I've not seen a gen 5711 in the flesh, but on Patek's web site the images show a clear caseback... http://www.patek.com/patek-philippe.html?pageId=44565&backgroundId=3&lang=en& were you thinking of the 5120?
  3. Thanks guys. Got a Noob Factory LV on its way to round off my collection.
  4. +1 on hearing about QC / reliability issues on this movement. I am not going to mod my watch, and valued the reliability of an ETA movement over the 3135 clone. Could not understand the price differential either.
  5. I am wearing my Nautilus right now and I have to say that the extra hole does not bother me that much. On close inspection the sticker on the rotor is the bigger tell is it not?
  6. No.3 VC Patrimony. Has both modern and classic design elements. Interesting to see the Ulysse sub watch in amongst all these rose gold plain bezel tourbillion watches. Good luck with the choosing!
  7. That's very nice indeed - see how nice and clear the date is when you aren't lloking at it straight on. Shame WM9 is gone.
  8. Answered my own question and ordered a Noob Factory LV from Josh on an ETA movement. It seems to be a very good out-of-box replication.
  9. Glad I bought it. Yes! Glad the blue is hard to capture in a photo. No. I want people to appreciate how striking the dial is!
  10. All my reps come from Joshua at Perfect Clones. Last night I took 'Glamour shots' of them all which I posted in the pictures section: I have been very pleased with the service from Josh. I have even asked him about sourcing other watches and he's been very transparent in his responses. Hope this helps N
  11. Here's my unboxing pics. It's not a bad replication imho
  12. Folks, I've been looking at the Project X LV sub that Josh and the others are offering. It strikes me that the CG and the cyclops are two of the biggest 'tells' on the out of box reps. The X does without both and looks much cleaner imho. Any opinions from someone that has one? Thanks N
  13. Guess I got lucky! Mind you I only noticed your pearl being low because you mentioned it...
  14. Folks, I have ordered 6 watches from Josh and I am very very happy with them. My Exp II movement packed in so it is returning to Josh to be fixed. Here are the remaining five. UPO Nautilus Blackbird BR02 Datejust two tone
  15. Here's mine. Orange is the new Black don't you know ... This and my Nautilus are on a whole new level of replication imho
  16. Does shill bidding still go on. Absolutely! Is it legal - well it's a violation under UK and US law.
  17. @the_sazerac : Nice watch, specially with your skin tone. What's your wrist size, and is the bracelet / clasp comfortable on your wrist? My orange bezel looks good against light brown skin (I'm indian) but I've had to sand my clasp at the edges to get a comforatble fit... Must get round to taking a wrist shot... N
  18. Well I did practice on an old powder coated hard drive cage first! My 'goal' was to see if I could remove a sharp edge from the cage with minimal removal of the powdercoat on either surface. Actually with a small piece of emery cloth this was easy so I went ahead and had a go on the clasp. Then just for fun (because I really am that sad) I then had a go at poloshing up the surface of the cage. Got it to a nice shiny finish with the oil, so I felt confident I could brush out any scratches I made on the side of the clasp. Took me back to metalwork classes at school ...
  19. Thanks. Used some 600 grit sanding cloth & oil to smooth down all edges and corners on clasp. It makes a huge difference!
  20. Folks, I took my UPO to be resized by my friendly local watch repair man. The fit is great on my 7" wrist, but the underside of the clasp is very uncomfortable Something at the end of the clasp which bears the bracelet extender for diving is giving me grief, But when I take the watch off I can't work out what it is. Anyone else had this problem. Otherwise the watch is fantastic, probably the best rep I have. Thanks N
  21. My 45.5 Orange bezel UPO has just cleared customs and will be here soon. Will be interesting to compare the black and orange versions...
  22. Yes we have quite a few Costco's in UK - How else are we going to fill our little chocolate box gardens with the most humungous garden furniture and patio heaters you ever did see? I once used my Costco card in California and the till said "Costco welcomes overseas member" How cool was that! Anyhow, the policy for refunds in the U.K. is restricted to 90 days. After that they will replace the item *if* they still have it in stock, but they don't keep long terms stocks of the same line. They tend to get a batch of something in, and then once it is sold out, they get a batch of some other similar item. I don't know what would happen if you rolled up with a defective Breitling, which they not longer carried in stock. Likely they'd offer you a choice from the other watches they carry in stock. Also as far as grey market swiss watches, I though the maximum discount anyone can give is 20%...
