  1. You guys can make jokes out of paypal disputes, trade disputes, heated debates, missing dogs, and abominable mother in laws. Except the last one is rarely a joke.
  2. +1. Owning a gen is a matter of being able to afford it, AND being willing to spend the money on it. There are many wealthy guys around who are just unwilling to spend on the gens, BUT yet like their designs. So they go rep shopping. If this hobby is to be condemned, then what is the purpose of us congregating in RWG? Whats the purpose of RWG in the first place? We are gathered here to enjoy the hobby, not to pick at one another based on the 12000 different opinions we collectively hold on the subject right? To each his own. Gens carry with them the fine craftsmenship, original designs, brand equity, and admiration value. Reps would never be gens, but they emulate gens to varying degrees. Let everyone be the judge of their own watches, and be the ones who decide what goes on their wrists. Living with that decision is a natural consequence, for better or worse.
  3. I'll gladly supply you with real ones plus a beer or 6 if and when we meet. But don't camp here waiting to see a show man. lol.
  4. And thats a gen dial and hands set, is it not? very pretty
  5. lets cut OP some slack, he's probably new and unsure what to do. and yes, communication with the dealer should be good enough to resolve this.
  6. Issue with Zorrolondon closed. Sorry to disappoint you guys, no fist fights!
  7. Totally true, theoretically! For me, I can't really be bothered if the next guy waiting in line at the cafe or the guy sitting next to me in the restaurant is wearing a rep of my gen watch or not. To each his own, its still a free world, right? We can never stop anyone from wearing a rep, or wanting to fork out serious dough for the gen. At the very bottomline, its about living with personal decisions. I have said this before: This "gen vs rep" debate and "hang the rep wearers" drama happens mostly online. Walk out on the streets with a gen on your wrists, or a well made rep, or even a gaudy looking one.. you will find that the person who notices and pays most attention, is always yourself.
  8. Lol Baruch, personally yes I would prefer the Pride of Argentina to this as well but hey, there's a color for every guy!
  9. Different dealers will tell you different things. From what I know, some dealers can still get stock for noob watches. I don't want to be the doomsday prophet and proclaim replica armaggeddon just because I am not able to get the watches I want from my dealer. I am sure there are plenty here with better luck and resources than me.
  10. I think the model chosen is a matter of personal preference. To the OP, I have already mentioned this, ask your dealer to round off the pushers for you if you can. Also, I would advise you to get the dealer to service this watch prior to shipping. I did not spot any glaring defects other than the usual AP ROO rep flaws.
  11. envy and admiration to varying degrees, yes, but hate? unlikely. I happen to own a few gen AP ROOs, and I have the rep of for 2 of the gen models I own. People own reps for different reasons, and for me, it is a matter of trying out the "alternatives" and see the world would end if the rep is secured around my wrist. I would wonder why you are displaying animosity in your reply toward some of the opinions posted here. Owning a watch, in my opinion, is a matter of making a personal decision after going through a consideration of a variety of factors. To each his own I guess. You are definitely entitled to your opinion and I respect that, but lets keep the spirit of discussion gentle.
