I really appreciate all of the reviews posted too. If I had more time I would write my own, but at the same time I usually buy the popular "tested" watches which have already been reviewed ten times over...

Oh no, ub7, you got rid of your colt? I really liked that watch - it looked great on you.

@Corgi: I am looking for more an everyday beater watch not a dress watch for now, so don't think the Blancpains would work. Just never really in a situation I need a dress watch. Sure, I don't dive either, but I like the PO.
Here are two of my favorite diving-inspired watches. If I were to get a "water oriented" timepiece, it would be one of these bad boys... simply because they are so unique and (most importantly) unrepped.

I think if you can live with bad subdial spacing you should get the Breguet Type XX Aeronavale in Titanium... it's a much nicer timepiece for the money in my opinion.

None of you are gonna get this one.......
a few more stumpers

That was hilarious!! It's so true, I remember we used to have this Korean kid in calculus class who scored 100 on absolutely everything while even the best of us "normal" kids were fighting just to get a B... how did he do it?!?!

It's true - I didn't think little pictures would make a difference but now the website loads much faster, especially when I display all of my posts in the control panel...

It sounds like you had a really great time! If you're looking for a gen, have you considered one of the more affordable Blancpains? They are very rare watches and quality is right up there with the most recognized Swiss brands in the world. Many are also surprisingly affordable, until you start piling on the complications of course! Omega, despite its servicing policy, is just not a brand I would ever get in gen form. Why? Too many reps already exist - and the exclusivity factor is too low. Owning a Blancpain, on the other hand, means you're a connoisseur who understands and appreciates the beauty of traditional horology.

...recognize many of these are very high end watch, which for the same price you could own a classic Rolex or even complicated Patek Philippe in some circumstances.
Also, the only reason I didn't put in the graham, is because I think half the forum would proceed to hunt me down and tear my head off. Lanikai first. So we'll call it a "passable".

gen has running secs @ 12. the rep, of course has the secs at 9...should have a rep with secs @12 some time soon.
According to the rumor mill it already exists, and they are just finishing up the loose ends. It should be HBB level popular when it comes out.

Narikaa can bring down enemies with the power of great savings!
Once he was in a bar, and was confronted with a terrible opponent - Navy SEAL trained with 20 years of experience. He offered the guy a nymphomariner at his rock-bottom discount price and the guy's head literally exploded. No joke.
-
This is a really clever watch. Monster size, great movement (ST19 manual wind chrono) and - wait for it- correct subdial spacing!

I've always secretly dreamed of working as a parking control officer. There's some genuine incomprehensible sadistic joy in writing lazy bastards tickets and knowing that with a few strokes of a pen you just made some annoying jerk's day that much more difficult.

Yes this forum is unlike any that I've seen before. I think that we're a much stronger community than those pompous stuck up millionaires at timezone.com
...just throwing it out there...

Have you EVER even been out of canada?
I have been to europe many many times. It was generally disappointing (aside from the joy of seeing family of course).

I don't really see the hype about New York as a city. It just looks like a giant collection of advertisements. Nope, nothing like the fresh Texas air to impress this corgi.

Victoria is going to be absolutely devastated :-)
I enjoyed the rating system myself but, if it makes the forum run smoother, I think its removable is a respectable choice. I think it might just contribute to increasing sociability between members, since now to agree with someone you're actually going to have to undergo the effort of writing a message instead of just clicking a button.

After watching that movie "Signal 30" I stay as far away from automobiles as humanly possible, unless absolutely positively necessary. For me, the quality of a car is directly proportional to the amount of airbags it houses.

I will trade you one poorly modded omega planet ocean; but you will need to add an extra $10,432 "superior excellence fee" which covers everything from excellence to superiority.
-
You can't do this on gold plate. Be advised.
