That looks like quite a funky piece! I like it!

Meh I still prefer Macgyver.

You are buying a watch for someone? You must be very generous. I wish I was your friend indeed..

I have this one on order... should be here by late november... its pictures like these that make the long wait IMPOSSIBLE.
-
Pshhh... I could afford it

I always thought this was a women's watch... PS: Does anybody know how to make this photoshop effect?
-
This scared me... I didn't read the message and thought to myself "Oh my gosh... miss Victoria has quite a collection going on there...!!!" My next thought was.... "I wonder which of our dealers carries a version with such realistic cubic zirconium!?!??!" Then I read an explanatory post and my breathing/heart rate settled back down...

She is going to love this watch. I hope you got the version with 14K gold wrap, because it really is a huge improvement... it is a significantly thicker plate that holds very well on the inside of the bracelet. I look really good wearing this watch. Really good. You can spot the bling from a mile away... However, I can already feel the bezel coming loose so be careful and try to remove and re-glue with a strong paste otherwise it might fall off and cause an embarrassing moment!

I shall wear the Submariner this Monday, Wednesday, and Tuesday.

What a brand new aquaracer should NOT look like...
Corgi replied to jkarpas's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
This is such a hassle and inconvenience... I sometimes have difficulty to believe that actual human beings place these watches into envelopes and dispatch them in the mail in such a condition... I cannot understand how some people can be so unethical. ...and its also bad for business, and a waste of time for the dealer... now he has to re-ship a new watch and re-pay shipping and do it all over again... why not just get it right the first time? It's not hard. "This watch is no good, this other watch is correct, let's put the correct on in the envelope instead of the other one." Does this not REGISTER in the MINDS of some of these "people" ?!?!??! I too feel your pain, and have received many aesthetically and functionally damaged timepieces. -
A lot of people perpetuate the 'servicing myth' claiming that every mechanical watch dies and cannot last more than about five years... that is just simply a lie, perhaps started by some people who have made a very lucrative profit from its spread across these forums. I have a 30-year-old automatic 21-jewel orient that has never been serviced and still works. I have a 100+ year old Patek Philippe that died in 1983, was serviced, runs perfectly still and has never been serviced again. Servicing a rep is money into the TRASH BIN. Why? Because a correct service will cost around $200 (cheaper services are not recommended, as they do not fully overhaul the timepiece and can sometimes even affect it adversely even if performed by "swiss trained technicians".) Some people will disagree with me.. those who have spent hundreds of dollars on this probably.. but what is the point of servicing a $200 watch for $200 when, after it dies in 10++++ years, you can just get a new one because, more than likely, you will be bored with it anyway!!! Not to mention that, if it has gold on it, it will have probably peeled off by then. This is an issue that really burns my biscuits. But it's your money, do with it what you want! You can even take it and flush it down the toilet if you want.... if you think hard enough... you may be able to convince yourself it a positive gesture towards the longevity of the watch, 'cuz you don't fix what ain't broken! What a fun and unusual watch. I bet it would be a great conversation piece, and a hit at your next party, poker game, or casual get together with friends. My only question; does such a "porno piece" actually exist in some gen form?

This is actually a pretty nice watch. Unfortunately, I can't afford it just now -
Rolex experts wanted - Whats wrong with my date font?
Corgi replied to perry563's topic in The Rolex Area
It is EXTREMELY difficult to take a picture of a watch's date magnification area so the date is clearly visible in my experience. Can you tell us how it looks in comparison with the below pictured watch? -
Get it from NARIKAA. That's my advice. I no longer trust the drop-shippers.
-
I like this watch; subtle and classy - a true businessman's piece.

You can't start screwing it back until its fully in. When it's at the time-setting position, push it back (without twisting) as far as possible, then press it in gently, and only then start to turn. I have a feeling you're just screwing it in too early and thus the date gets changed prematurely. Do NOT screw it back in until the crown is PUSHED as far as possible towards the watch itself. The chances of the exact same mechanical defect in two different watches... you have more luck to win the lottery... which is why I think it's something you're doing wrong. At least that's my opinion. Good luck!

It's actually not bad at all. While the day-date layout is really unusual for gens, I would think the average joe would have extreme difficulty finding legitimate reasons why its not genuine... Good buy !

This Halloween I am going to be wearing a watch that I really like. The timeless and elegant Cartier Santos 100
-
I wish you could still get the one with correctly-sized font.... that would be great. Oh well.

The most expensive rep I've purchased, that is to say will purchase, is an MBK Nautilus worth $450. It is, however, the pinnacle of replica horlogerie with flawless construction and actual quality control. Other than that, $330 would have to be the limit on a regular China.

I definitely show off my timepieces, but because I live in Canada, they spend a lot of time covered under sweaters and sleeves. I like to exercise restraint when wearing them, however, because it makes them appear more 'real.' It's a pretty good tell that the guy with rolled up sleeves constantly playing with his Rolex; adjusting it and fondling it, while positioning in the direct angle of vision of anyone in the vicinity, is probably wearing a fake.

One day it could be worth thousands and you will be kicking yourself. It looks like a cool piece to restore.
