I recommend one of those wind-up "Lemania venus" 30-min Chronographs. They are really fun to buy because there are so many makes and models to choose from, it's like car shopping! Not to mention that is one of the most solid and reliable movements currently available in the rep world, I have never read a post reporting a problem with one of those things. VC, Patek, A Lange & Sohne, Breguet, and so on... you can add complications like moon phases, calendars, or just simple dual-subdial chronographs. 41mm is the standard size and many of them look truly amazing, especially with that complex movement on display. That, and in investment in a nice leather strap and deployant, would be my choice for you. It sounds like after all those sports Omegae you're in need of some class!

Modern Volvos, at least those sold in the USA, are just fancy Fords aren't they? I know you want a luxury car, to go with that luxury watch, but I would say get a Lexus of some kind (ES300 or variant) because of the dependability and quality. If you have the money, get a Volvo... but be prepared for world-renowned Ford manufacture quality and service.

Still under 50 over on my ends!

Has anyone bought one of Tourby's pilot watches?
Corgi replied to Martyd3's topic in General Discussion
That's really beautiful. I certainly wouldn't mind having such a piece of art adorning my dainty wrist. -
I just hope I'm not too late...

But what about skeleton from the front...? Who can see the back anyhow! -

Wow... look at that Swan Neck Regulator, no surprise its so expensive! It is a shame he does not sell a fully skeletonized version, with artistic engravings on the movement. -
Hello I have owned my SMP chrono for a few months now, even used it to time something last week and it works perfectly... keeps great time, and resets hastily with precise accuracy. However, after I am done setting the time and go to screw the crown back in, the twisting motion of the crown makes little crackling sounds. It's really very quiet, like a little "snip snip snip" gentle bumping/scraping of metal. I am worried I may be inadvertently damaging the watch as I screw in the crown! Any thoughts? Corgi.

Life expectancy and durability of Yachtmaster Rep
Corgi replied to buytheplace's topic in General Discussion
The big problem with the sub-based replicas (YM inc.) is that the bezel ring glue weakens and the bezel ring falls off. This happens any time from within one week of arrival to one year like mine. The movements are also a game of chance. Your best bet would be to stick with a Swiss ETA 2836-2, however, some report generic asian 21J lasting longer than ETA, I can attest to this personally. I recommend taking a look at the 'nymphomariner' series yachtmaster (Narikaa - forum member) because it has tremendous value, accuracy, and is inspected before shipment. Canada customs also does an electrifying job if you know what I mean... No actually they do not touch counterfeit stuff at all or investigate it even remotely.

Start-Of-The-Week Wristcheck (26-27 Nov 2007)
Corgi replied to Victoria's topic in General Discussion
I think that on this appropriately-started wristcheck thread I am going to show off the watch I will be wearing this week, and it is so great to be able to do so because I work Mondays and wouldn't have time to share until the late evening, and I would have probably missed out. I don't remember who started this excellent thread but kudos to him/her, what a great idea to do it a little early before we have to rush off to work! This beginning of the week I will be wearing; Hopefully, *cross fingers*, my MBK Nautilus will arrive Monday and that will mean a whole lot of Patek Philippe going on this week... -
The deal was, you stay out of my threads, I stay out of yours. This thread is neither mine nor yours, it was originally started by "andrew". However, I will step up here and be the bigger man... you may think I'm an idiot, that's fine... heck, I don't consider myself the smartest guy in town, and I do not question your intelligence, sir, but you consistently insult other members here, and when you did it to me, it doesn't go away that easy (as you can tell). There is a reason I have targeted you - and you need to sit back, relax, sip some cocoa, and try to understand why exactly that is. A little politeness goes a long way my friend, and unfortunately when you decide to treat me with disrespect it gets to the point where you need to run screaming for help, cuz you know what, when it comes to situations like this, I don't back down that easily. Consider it my warning to you, leave me alone, for heaven's sakes, because I won't quit until you do. Please do not reply to this post, just read and stop. I will make the agreement further... I won't even talk about you, at all, but you have to do the same. If you have the nerve to speak impolitely towards myself then you will feel the consequences and that is something you clearly do not want. So do not quote this post, do not reply to it, just take it into consideration. This will be the last message I ever write to you (yes - crack a joke - "thanks god"), and it would be in your best interest to keep it that way please. The ball is in your court, how you choose to play it is up to you... but remember... for every action there is an equal re-action. For more information contact me privately, I will be happy to respond to any questions you may have.

I love that new crown... it looks like the original Rolex emblem decided to eat a little too many McDonald's.

Hi! Nice to meet you, I'm not really an "old school member" but I definitely have been here for a while.

77.... already?! VB, are you going Tanfoglio on us or what? I only have 9 with a Nautilus on the way... even now I can barely find the time to give each one the care it deserves!

I would reply to TTK's rambling but since he was man enough to tattle on me to the admin, I have been asked not to insult our precious little Neil in fear of hurting his feelings. I am a man (dog) of my word, and so, I will leave Neil alone with his compositions. Victoria is a friend of mine, and I think her post count shows just how devoted she is to this forum. If I ran a message board and saw that someone was this actively involved, I would be happy indeed. Let's not forget she has made financial contributions here as well. It is her right to get her money's worth. The fact she is a woman means little to me, I have more respect for her because she has respect for me... the mutual understanding we have with each other is enough to let me refute the obscene insults being spewed at her in this thread, where it seems like everyone is joining the bandwagon. I for one am very disappointed with many members here.

Hello, You are an embarrassment to the community here, Andrew. I used to respect you before I read this, but insulting a woman, over the internet, that just shows what kind of a man you are... you must be a real p*ssy in real life my friend... shame on you and I hope miss Victoria ignores this entire topic. She is a very kind person whose posts entertain me, and she has not broken any of the rules of this website thus your accusations are unfounded and downright insulting. You are a disgrace and for this post I would ban you from here forever. Don't like it? Leave. The Zigmeister: Don't like it here? Same thing, leave.

Do you think a Rep Watch value guide would be helpful?
Corgi replied to lnoblesus's topic in General Discussion
Richard Brown, if I may say with all politeness, is a [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored] [censored] Let's not make this even more popular so every single person on the street has easy access to reps. Let the masses get scammed, its better for us. You may hate me for being so harsh, but TOUGH COOKIES. I want to look exclusive and rich. That being said, the best replica value guide is this message forum. Do some careful searching and reading and you'll be knowledgeable and up to date with the latest models and releases. -
I have never done business with him before, but I have tried, and communication always turned me away. I hope you have better luck, and from the looks of things, it looks like you are!

"Is that a counterfeit watch?" "yes" zzzzap!

Does Patek Nautilus supposed to have AR?

I have been using Bittorrent to download television, films, music, and software for over the past two years. In fact, I've become so good at it, I have a little system where every 2-3 days I leave the machine on over night, load up a bunch of torrents and let them download, so the next morning I have a whole bunch of new things to watch, and so on. I definitely recommend it, although you may want to install a program called PEERGUARDIAN if you live in the USA, this will block your IP from being viewed by third parties. I am yet to find one virus embedded in a video file. This is just not possible as far as I know. Another good idea is to buy a .avi-compatible DVD player, because you can burn whole TV-series to a disc and then play it on your tv. These things you can get at your local wal-mart for about $60, so its a huge savings when you discover one legitimate DVD season of baywatch is about the same price. Watching video on your ipod is much harder, though, because you have to convert the .avi into the ipod format... there are a few shows available to get in ipod already, but they are rarely the latest releases. Anyway... good luck and trust me, you won't regret it once you get it. Addendum: EMule works best for music. This is peer to peer, not bittorrent. utorrent works best for bitorrent.

I'm sorry for your loss. It's always a shame when a nice watch you treasure and enjoy takes the trip to timepiece heaven. It sounds like you're pretty handy; ie: swapping out movements and so on, so I'm sure that with a little effort and investment you can get the watch running yet again! Good luck.

Joshua is the fastest service. His quality is also, generally, very good indeed. If you want the peace of mind knowing you are getting an inspected watch, Narikaa gets my vote... but you have to follow his routine depending on when he is making his next voyage to the markets of the far east.
