  1. Oh dachshund, you and me... we're such dogs! I would love to move to TEXAS one day. I always wanted to visit a genuine rodeo...
  2. I always wondered on the quality of Silix's "faux chrono" Daytona... If this was PayPal, I would tell you to file a disagreement IMMEDIATELY before the other party can move the funds. Perhaps MB has a similar option?
  3. Hi... the watch died three weeks ago.
  4. I agree with the sentiments on solid gold... it really makes a watch. I am pondering buying Joshua $700 solid TT datejust but... I don't want my testicles served on a plate either...
  5. I will definitely be tuning in this time... is it just music or are there messages from members? Can one call in? I would love to hear one of TTK's famous rants in hi-fi stereo.
  6. All of my pants are fat pants.
  7. Since it is Texas... I assume everyone has a rifle of some sort... I betcha the Rolex employees will gang up on her after the mall closes and propose a duel in the parking lot after dark.
  8. This classy brown vintage-style bracelet's bulk and thickness are the ideal complement for your Panerai's tough and rugged design.
  9. They could have really picked a less distressful word than "exception." But I share your frustrations... my two Mullers are taking way longer than expected to arrive.
  10. If you want to polish plated gold, use CONNOISSEURS dual-side polishing cloth. They come in a red box. I recently tested them against a TT link, 14K 15mil gold wrap. Even after strong rubbing, the gold remained - and returned to its original luster. I would use Cape Cod for watches like SS Breitling, where the polished SS scratches really easily.
  11. She should be careful... those ADs won't think twice about dispatching some police (this being Texas, some "sheriff's deputies") and hauling her a-- off to jail regardless it being a "just for fun display" as she claims. The lady is, in my opinion, playing with fire - and may get third degree burns as a result! Did you like my fire metaphor? I did.
  12. I definitely agree with those of you saying there are more than one person answering e-mails. On my time, if you e-mail Joshua at around 9:30 at night, you can practically have an instant message chatroom with "him", although continuity is lacking in terms of responses. Once I was speaking with him about my YM, e-mailed him a few hours later, and got a reply to the effect of "what YM.. you never told me about it"
  13. How do you forcefully remove the thing?
  14. Fantastic picture.
  15. Hi, Today my father was walking down the street when he heard a gentle "plunk" below him. Thinking he had lost a key, he looked down only to notice a small metal ring on the ground. His vision poor, he assumed the item was a key ring that fell from his dangly keychain. Upon closer inspection, it was the bezel ring of his less than one year old YM rep! Luckily he spotted the undamaged part and is planning to carefully superglue it back on... that will keep it safe from budging! But I, as the owner of a new TT sub rep that cost roughly $400, am extremely worried to lose mine! Can anyone comment on the general quality and robustness of the glued bezel ring in Josh's TT sub in relation to the YM? Is there anything I can do to prevent the piece falling off in the future and creating an embarrassing moment? Has this ever happened to you? Are dealers keen on replacing these obviously defective items? (I am talking about the blue ring, not the entire bezel itself... just the little piece on top with the numerals...) And to those of you with SS Yachtmasters from the mega-dealers: BE CAREFUL! Best regards, Corgi.
  16. I am feeling good about my TT sub. Today at the station I was complemented from a stranger. This never happened before... it is a watch with a twinkle that really catches the eye!
  17. Narikaa... That is an outstanding timepiece. Is this a gen? if not, did you buy it from one of the dealers here or from personal contacts? Just curious... maybe when you're in GZ you can try and bring some gold Mont Blanc tie clip...? and Patek 5036...? ;-) I'm sure whatever you bring... we'll be happy.
  18. Omega SMP Chronometer. Very good value for money it is...
  19. He looks expensive to me.
  20. AR is an important feature to giving the watch a "genuine" feel and look. Without it, you must understand that anybody in the know will smell something suspicious. I personally believe the ETA movement is a much better choice than the Asian counterpart. Let's face it, quality control... you can't beat that.
  21. If you want a gold watch, you have a few options to choose, in no particular order...: 1. 18K plated, "5mil" - This is the most popular, and you will start seeing slight wear after about one year, and serious wear after two. I have had good experience over all with it... definitely decent. 2. 14K "wrap" "15mil" - This is a more expensive, but heavier application of gold. I made a recent purchase, and it looks stunning... very real, and excellent quality. 3. 18K Solid - Rare, available on certain reps, very pricey, but lasts a lifetime. A good investment if you really really adore TT datejust on white face. 4. 18K "wrap" "15mil" - Another rare layering of gold... I think only the constellation is available in this configuration. Expect results similar to #2. 5. 18K plated "3mil" - Just recently coming out on the market in some newer reps, like my new Franck Muller Conquistador Cortez. Dealer report suggests it is "good value" and "will certainly last long with careful wear." We shall see, when the FM arrives. Experts; feel free to add to the list in case I missed anything. And please.. no bickering over the actual vs. stated amounts in mils. My chart is what the dealers say, which may or may not be accurate representations of the product.
  22. pictures would help a lot here to determine if it is real. I think you would have a lot of trouble getting it serviced by an AD if you bought it in eBaY.
  23. How much for the watch with the correct dial already inside of it?
  24. I would love to see a PAM 8 days rep that can last that long.. I may just buy it! Sadly, I do not think these will ever come on the market...
  25. Rep Submariner.. serviced and waterproofed?
