What's the Accuracy of your watches (specify movements)
By-Tor replied to mobile11's topic in General Discussion
From reps, the Asian 7750 movements have been the most accurate for me (generally). A21J's are funny. They can be spot on accurate, running in COSC standards or even +/- 60 secs. I have lots of good experiences of the cheap A21J's and wouldn't mind purchasing more of them. Right now I don't have one though. For some reason I never got into the whole accuracy thing... it's pretty meaningless if you have 5-10 watches that you rotate every day. -
Did you sell your both Noobs Pugs? I think I will have a hard time to resist the new BK SeaDweller if it's going to be repped with the same standards as the Sub and YM. @Dani: Yeah I think you hit the nail on the head. Trends come and go, but the real classic design will always look great.
-
Yes it's the same model. Noobmariner came with Asian 21J movement (low beat) = my review watch. ETA 2836-2 (high beat) = Paul's watch (Pam111). Who really knows if it's genuine ETA or not... but if it is, the price is really nice. I doubt it though... most of those ETAs are Chinese copies these days. But if it has the high beat 28.800bph movement and it works... who really cares.

Good morning! GMT for today.

Hi Vlad, that watch is Noobmariner with the rehaut engraving. Yes, it's very good rep for the money. I would try to source it without the engraving though. Go to my section and see the review of the Noobmariner.

Very cool! So you decided to finish the project anyway?

Quick tell on most Rollie reps.... how easy to rectify?
By-Tor replied to robsa's topic in The Rolex Area
Nobody is going to "spot" any of the best Rolex reps in the market, unless you're a hardcore Rolex WIS and can have closer look. The ordinary, dull and tiny stainless steel bracelet screws (God forbid) look exactly the same on gens and reps. Where do these "myths" and "truths" come from? Has ReplicaCenter updated their Grade AAAAA++++ reference guide? Real Swiss made TRL... and now Ladies and Gentlemen... the 2009 upgrade: REAL SWISS MADE STAINLESS STEEL BRACELET SCREWS! What next? Someone comes up and tells that you can definitely smell the difference between gen and rep? The days when we actually had "quick tells" are over. Of course reps will always have occasional QC problems though. -
Awesome pictures! And of course... awesome watches. Gens and reps. One of these days I gotta attend these European GTG's. Seeing all those members' watches in one place... priceless. Thanks for sharing. PS: This picture reminded me again how much I love the Electric Blue Seamaster. The Bond bracelet makes it perfect.

Hmm... I knew Dave doesn't like the classic steel Sub... but knowing his taste... I'm sure a few feminine pink diamonds on the bezel could change that.
-
Wow... great wrist shots, everyone! I'm boring as I don't have so many watches... so I gotta rotate the same old, same old. I hope you won't get bored of them, I surely won't. My black ExpII for Tuesday. Amazing replica.

No matter what the dealers' info say: You don't have to hand wind it. It's actually recommended that you WILL NOT hand wind it. Just shake, rattle and roll... and wear. If you want further information of this, search Ziggy's articles for more.
-
I love the Dweller, but the design isn't that far off of the classic 16610... so I doubt it. If I didn't have this, I'd get it for sure.
-
...to photograph, but a real joy to wear.
-
Could depend on the rep, yeah... but check this out. Here's my genuine and replica (polished and properly cleaned) 16710 side by side. I really tried to take a shot in proper light exposure (when I was doing my review) and show the difference but it was really difficult. Yeah you can probably see it, but if this kind of difference is a big deal to someone I think he's in dire need of therapy. All that "superior" 904 steel stuff is just marketing hype which (of course) does its job. People who have never owned gen Rolexes think they're something special and "larger than life". But I can assure you: they're not. They're stainless steel base metal automatic watches... just like their rep counterparts.

Excellent work. This was one of the missing reviews in the Omega Guide. Well it's no more. Thanks for this article!

I'd say there are five-six excellent modern Rolex replications: WM9 16610 Submariner v2 WM9 Yacht-Master are in the league of their own. Then: Rolex Explorer II Noobfactory version (black dial only) GMT IIc "Ultimate" Euromariner latest WM9 16610 Submariner v1 Best Explorer I's are very good too. Daytona Seconds at '6 ain't visually bad, either... as long as you stick with the basics ie. black and white SS models. The whole Noobfactory line is very decent (TT Sub, Noobmariner SS and TT, YM, DeepSea v3). "Spotting the bracelet color" is absolute bs. The gen and (polished & cleaned) rep steel are virtually indistinguishable unless you have them side-by-side, in exactly correct lighting exposure.

If my brother tried to sell a rep like this to me, I would definitely kick his arse. Seriously: Welcome to the forums. Just forget that piece of junk and get a decent Sub from the forum members/dealers. Hunting the watch is half of the fun. Good luck!

Pepsi day.

Hey Pugs, congrats man! Now let us see more pics!
-
Yeah it's worth modding... sure. But only with this: Sorry man but it's a terrible LV Sub. Absolutely horrendous.
-
Dave, I was one of the guys who convinced Andrew that a BCE rep would sell. And that was long before you even came to the community. Andrew was really skeptic about it. That was back then when only half-decent Breitling rep was the Navitimer. I've always liked the BCE. That polished bracelet is the only reason why I haven't purchased one yet. But yeah, for once we agree about ONE watch. It's a freakin' miracle actually. I still hate those diamond bezels man. Sorry.
-
Yeah, the standard stuff and usual blues: No way make accurate spacing for El Primero-powered watch, etc. But would the Tricompax 7750 be that far off? I don't think so. At least not disturbingly so. Having a 7750 version would be much better than having no version at all. Here's some guy's lucky wrist wearing the Rainbow. So... am I the only one who fancies this watch?
-
Wow indeed! I absolutely ADORE Zenith, but only their classic ELP models. The new Defy Extremes are just gross. This is very, very nice... although Seagull ST-19 is no El Primero, it really "dresses up" these watches so well. Now we only need a rep of the Flyback chronos, like the Rainbow (which is my personal favorite). Like this, they can't replicate it accurately... but so what. Just make a quality rep that has quality feel! Enjoy! I sure would! PS: Does the crystal have AR, or is it just a light reflection in your photos?
-
Ditto. They're all fugly except the Pepsi, which is indeed very nice. I'd still prefer it with all-brushed bracelet though.
