A watch that large looks surprisingly good on Hamilton, considering how small guy he is. All F1 drivers are very small and skinny little fellows... for a good reason. However their wrists might be thicker in relation as driving those monsters 320 km/h can probably develop your forearms... at least a little bit. I agree, it's very good looking watch.

This kind of question is pretty difficult to answer as well all have our personal tastes. It's like asking "what kind of girlfriend should I choose... blonde, brunette, fat, skinny, fit, etc." Whatever works for someone, might not work for someone else. I have written articles of over 40 reps... most of them are high quality "super reps". Check my section (link in my signature), maybe you could get some ideas. Good luck!

Hey DS, that's a beauty!!! I'm wearing this magnificent blue today.

Tag Heuer Link Chronograph 7750 Automatic Review
By-Tor replied to Maxim's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
The newest model of Link Chrono is indeed amazing. The gen I mean... with open caseback and 2xAR. It's very high on my list when I'm considering my next gen. It's a stunner and I suggest everyone who aren't TAG fans, to go and check out that watch... highly impressive quality and finish. Scoobs bought bought one. HERE are the pics. -
Tag Heuer Link Chronograph 7750 Automatic Review
By-Tor replied to Maxim's topic in The Tag Heuer Area
Great work. I have sold my Link long time ago, and I almost bought this "brushed bezel" version about a year ago from a fellow member. I also think this is the nicer version, although not quite as accurate as the "polished" one. Still very good rep though. Yeah I would definitely AR it, although the gen isn't AR'd, either. The reflective dial was pretty much the only reason I traded mine. Beautiful watch, and the bracelet is amazing. Thanks for sharing this review. I added it to the TAG Guide. -
I use 9:10 in my Rolex photos. Works better as it doesn't cover much of the dial text this way. If you set it further then the distorting cyclops screws it up a bit. 1:48 works just as well. Here I "slipped" a bit.

Do the straps sometimes take away from the watch?
By-Tor replied to mickeypro's topic in The Breitling Area
This is just my personal opinion: I simply don't like straps with ANY watches. PO with the rubber strap is an exception. And I have a general dilemma with Breitling: I don't like those polished bracelets, either. But SFSO with a brushed steel bracelet is pretty much perfect diver watch. I don't like it with a strap at all, although your white version is a little dressier... brown strap doesn't look "out place" on it, but personally I'd wear it only on a bracelet. -
Are Stainless Steel Bracelets Unfashionable Nowadays ?
By-Tor replied to RIBOOWW2's topic in General Discussion
No I don't think so. -
Chief is the man, apparently!

Lovely shots again Robbie! My Sunday watch has very accurate AR as well... ZERO, just like the gen. And I love it.

What a beauty! Congrats... you make me

DOC'S POST But who cares... more TAG threads the merrier. I have become a big fan of TAG lately. For some reason most of their designs speak to me a lot. I'm considering another gen TAG... maybe the new Link chrono with open caseback and double AR. Awesome looker!
-
I think Doc posted about this too. Well... I know how desirable the Monaco is to many. And yes, it's a legendary model in many ways. But that design has never done anything for me. But people who like it... I think it's a great candidate for a gen because they're not going to replicate this anytime soon.

Nice ones. I assume these are frankens? Precisions, Air-Kings and Oyster Dates (and even ExpI's) are very affordable Rolexes, and make very nice collectibles. They're mostly affordable because of the small case size. When I say "affordable" I mean compared to the likes of Sub, GMT and Daytona. Same thing with vintage (smaller) anything. Lots of affordable good quality vintages from other top Swiss brands out there too... Omega, Zenith, Ebel... small size doesn't make them any less desirable if you like that style. Thanks for sharing man.
-
There aren't many good frankens/scams of modern Rolexes. I mean the sapphire models. They're either gens of reps, basically. And with the "eye" and expertise that I have developed in RWG, I can spot the visual problems (and of course all reps) immediately. So I'm in pretty safe waters (as a buyer) when I get to see actual photos of the watch for sale. The risk to get any aftermarket parts is minimal, really. Vintages (plastic crystal models) are a different thing. There are lots of scary frankens out there... some of that stuff is so good that even our best experts can't be always sure. But then again many of these best experts (who build these scary frankens) are our members.

Thanks mr. Zinedine Zidane... oops, mr Ziggy Zumba for another fine article. This myth apparently dies hard. And if you think about how few bad reports there are of the new A7750, I think the Chinese have really managed to put out a decent chronograph movement. No need to avoid A7750 at all. All of my high beat 7750's have always functioned perfectly, without any problems.

Help, what do dealers do to evade customs?
By-Tor replied to chin-up-27's topic in General Discussion
But then again...exaggerating the crime is useless too... buying a counterfeit watch isn't the biggest of crimes. In some countries it's not even a crime at all. In my country it was still 100% legal to buy counterfeit watch for your own personal use. I don't know if they have changed the law lately... but they only wanted the vat 22% for it (if the customs stopped it). Even if your watch gets seized, they're not going to shave your head and throw you to jail for buying a knockoff watch. These customs have much bigger concerns... like drugs and weapons for example. It's a slight annoyance if that happens and you might get a threatening letter from Rolex (that you can wipe your arse with). In most countries that kind of letter is equals toilet paper (legal wise). Thank god corporate pigs like Rolex and Microsoft can't write the laws for us (at least not yet). It's completely different thing if you're trying to import large amounts of counterfeit items for commercial use. Then you're in deep trouble. PS: In most countries the customs law is downloadable in pdf format. Check your local customs homepage and read what it says about counterfeit items. It's simple as that. -
Good deals can be found: I netted my 16710 with all boxes and paperwork, in excellent condition, for $3500+. And that was before the economy took a dive. ARTICLE Why would I pay $6000 for the same watch to the AD... those bloodsucking bastards who charge 400EUR for a basic service? With the difference I can buy a Omega, Breitling or TAG. Even two.

What's on your "radar", and what you want replicated in 2009?
By-Tor replied to By-Tor's topic in General Discussion
This should be added on the list as well. Old version of Breitling Blackbird. Much nicer than the new one with ugly date at 12'o'clock (just imho). This is probably my favorite Breitling chrono now, as I don't like the blinged pimp bracelets (and don't care for the straps, either). -

I'm amazed how many much variation these requests have. This is probably the best WIS forum on the Net. When I see your dream watches, I actually feel a bit embarrassed with my unimaginative redneck Rolex, Breitling, Omega and TAG collection. Great watches. Keep 'em coming! -
HERE is the classic golf club thread. It's at RWI so you have to be a member there and logged in. Without a doubt this is the funniest thread I've ever read... the whole thing is pure comedy. Caravaggio = ex-Paneraifreak = good man, good member and a serious humorist (I hope).

Absolutely no reason to shy away from the sales forums... especially now when the preowned prices have depreciated dramatically. TZ SALES FORUM is full of Subs, for very good prices. At least you can keep checking them out, and if you find a good buyer with lots of references and allows PayPal protection... go for it!

Very nice black SMP. Maybe even the best one available right now. I had a black GMT with Asian 21J... that was surprisingly accurate and good rep as well. The same maker probably made this as well.
