My Wednesday watch: The black.

There's always going to be some dust or some occasional small dirt area on the pics, no matter how much you clean up the watches. Photoshop is pretty much the only way to get rid of dust 100%.

Nice shots & watches! You seem to have things pretty much technically covered. 3rd Hublot dial is overlit though. You might want to filter the lighting or shoot it from a side angle. Your camera also shows up in the reflection. Cleaning up the dust from watches prior to shooting is important as well. The devil is in the details. Practice makes perfect, and photographing watches is fun and can be extremely rewarding. Keep 'em coming!

Yeah, the dial isn't all that bad really. Not great, but at least it's better than having those stupid grey markers. But are you sure that dial is going to fit the Noob case? Check this article. There are the correct dimensions of the dial, and all the info you need. Gen dials won't fit the newer Noob cases.

I agree, the dial isn't all that bad, but the seconds markers are way too long. What Freddy suggested makes sense. The Noob dial itself is excellent. The only problem are those markers. The hands are correct black on the Noob.

Yeah they only sell the whole bezel, and I recall the price was something like $250. Doesn't make much sense to me.

The rep itself isn't utterly terrible, it's just bad... but the crown guards and that huge Submariner crown are just laughable. How can the idiots use the Sub cg's and install a triplock crown on a Explorer II? Because they use the same case for their Sub, it's "cost effective" this way. That's why. That means = typical cheapie junky.

I'm talking about the case and bezel shape + bracelet style (save the brushing/polishing). In that regard it's very much SFSO-like, imho. Or then my eyes are deceiving me. I dunno which is better. I talked with Dave123 (the official Breitling ambassador)... he's in the opinion that Swiss SFSO is more accurate. But I don't know, I'm not enough of a Breitling expert to say. All I know that Skyland looks really accurate to the gen, when I compare the pics. I should probably put it on my wrist to decide whether or not I like all that polished steel. But you know, that's always expensive. 3-4 years ago I would have bought this rep immediately. Now I have become a bit selective (unlike back in 2005, now there are WAY too many nice reps to choose from).

Yeah... if the rep wasn't so good, I would have bought the gen long time ago. I wear mine at least once every week and still love it as much as the day I got it.

Hey that's surprisingly good rep, considering it has been bought from the streets. Does the rotor function normally, with correct "friction"? And is the watch completely dead... the seconds hand doesn't move at all (not even just a few seconds) when you give it the "shake rattle and roll"? Does it react to hand winding?

Sounds good. You have once watch more than me. However I thinking about trading my classic ETA Bond Seamaster and getting the gen (when I find a good deal).

Once again: Thanks Francisco. Another excellent tutorial. Me and my clumsy, big hands would only do serious damage to these movements. That's why I leave all of this stuff to the professionals. PS: We could give you your own section but we're afraid that these articles would be "lost" in the huge subforum -> subforum of a subforum jungle/maze that RWG has become. Perhaps these articles would get more coverage and attention if you composed a post that has all these reviews linked. Then that could be stickied in Watch Repair and Upgrade section. You could update the post always when you post new stuff. You could also link them into your signature. Let me know.

Congrats man! Skyland is definitely an impressive watch/rep. I probably would have jumped to the wagon too, but I feel the design is a lot SFSO-like. And since I already have that, I ended up buying another super rep, Ebel Discovery, instead. And those polished Breitling bracelets... hmm... I could probably get used to them but damn they're "pimpy". I'll hazard a guess that you're going to put this on a strap, right?

Awesome DJ's! Really refreshing to see some DD's and DJ's occasionally. Usually it's 99% about Sub, GMT and Daytona here. PS: Do DJ's come with the Presidential band too? Your SS one has the Prez installed.

Is that a gen? Sorry this might be a stupid question, but I know next to nothing about UN... gens or reps. I've only seen Robbies watches. Either way it looks great man... congrats!

Just a clarification: WM9 models are Sub and YM (and the upcoming Sea Dweller), just like alligoat said. There is no WM9 DateJust. If you see other watches listed in the WM9 site, like DJ, they are the same reps that our dealers can get. Only Sub and YM are those "ultimate" replications, that are (so far) only available through George/BK.

I suggest you go with the SFSO. It's 2 millimeters smaller and (imho) way more impressive watch/rep. UPO lacks the 2x AR coating. And it doesn't look that balanced on the wrist. Rubber strap helps though... with bracelet it's a "hockey puck". It has nothing to do with wrist size, either... it just doen't look right (imho). I don't mean "right" that way... it's very accurate replica. When I wrote that review I was still in a "honeymoon" with UPO, but I sold it after I realized how much more I liked the 42mm version. On the other hand Breitling Steelfish is simply amazing. Despite being huge it's still "compact" (if you catch my drift).
