and i can't find it .. any one can help me here . as i'm a noob ;p

Unfortunately this insert color isn't available (as a rep). But you can always try to source the gen part. I don't know if Ebel sells them separately.

I never cared about the plastic crystal on 1680... or the dome on the vintage SD. I don't know why... I know how legendary watches these are, but for some reason I prefer the sapphire models. Yeah I know... blasphemy!

Actually I wouldn't mind owning a vintage MBWs, but I don't want them enough to invest so much money on a rep. It takes about $800 - $1K to build a good one (I assume) and that's just too much for someone who isn't crazy about them.

1675 is an exception of the plastic crystal models... I love it... but there is no rep.

Or alternatively read my 16710 rep vs. gen comparison. Both watches (gen and rep) have correct gen crowns: 6mm twinlocks.

Most 1675 models use a 5.3mm twinlock. The size changed to 6mm at some point, maybe with 16750.

I don't know more, but I know all modern 16710's use a 6mm twinlock crown. I'm bad with numbers. Justasgood provided my gen crowns and tubes.

i knew there was some variation between batches and years but my god. i dont feel so bad about the noob dial now...

What did I always say? The Noob YM is excellent. At the end of the day it just wasn't a watch for me. I liked it a lot though... but it was just too blingy.

Hi, I am new here. I am located in the US and am going to purchase this watch from PT. Someone mentioned on here earlier that there might be a duty fee for having it shipped from the UK.

Can anyone explain or comment on how to get around it or how much it will cost?

It's highly unlikely that there will be ANY customs issues between the UK and US. I've never heard of any. PT will take care of you... buy with confidence.

Boy I feel stupid now. That's the classic case of "you should have read the fine print".

Yeah, it looked way too good anyway. And yep... lots of variation on YM dials: The YACHT-MASTER font boldness, the coronet placement and SWISS MADE at '6 all vary a lot. Even the date font can be thicker or thinner.

The WM9 Yachtie looks pretty good to me. Finally the U-shaped cg's and a decent YACHT-MASTER dial font. The crown looks great too. I'm sure our dealers can get this later as well.

So, if you any have more watches than you have appendages...it means you're a collector to a certain degree because some watches will be at home in the box.

Yeah, you have a point. But we're watch geeks, we have different standards... we even have people who own 100+ watches.

My 8-10 watch "collection" is NOTHING compared to those, so in that sense I can hardly call myself a "collector".

Where to draw the line, that's interesting. I think all people who own more than 15 watches are serious collectors.

I've always wondered this... how many of us collect and keep watches that they rarely wear?

I've always tried to resist becoming a collector, but lately I've noticed that I simply can't sell any of my remaining watches... and I had to break my 8 watches "rule limit".

Still... I definitely don't want to own more than 10 watches, I want to wear them all regularly. It's some kind of weird principle to me... I guess I'm kind of a practical person. I've always traded all the watches that won't get any wrist time. I've had some really nice ones that I wouldn't mind still owning, but then again I have never regretted selling any of them. There was always a reason for the trade.

So I'm definitely a "wearer".
