  2. I haven't had the chance to have the watch tested for water resistance yet so no dipping in the ocean on this trip Sent from my iPhone 4s using Tapatalk
  3. So we know that the AP Diver is an excellent diving watch. I wondered if it could withstand the atmosphere moving vertically up from the horizon At 600 feet above the Laguna Madre in South Padre Island, TX the AP Diver V3 worked flawlessly and I must say the view was beautiful Thanks to Angus and his team at Puretime for another excellent watch!
  4. Angus is very good at checking his messages. Why not try sending him a PM? I know he is very active over at RG you could also check with him there as well. No worries man he will take care of you~*
  5. Sneed, Sorry to hear about this problem. It's unfortunate that some newbies can mess it up for everyone.

  11. Here are some macro shots of the peeling metal plate: Scratches on the movement:
  12. I never had dealings with Robert but it is sad to read this story. I just finished reading a thread he posted on RWI about how the rep industry works. Reading this news gives me chills. RIP Robert you will be missed~*
  13. Jeffw69, I have seen you over at RG if you use the same screen name. Better Avatar over there You posted in my thread on rg. Does your pam 351m also have scratches on the metal plate and also the wire touching the crown rotor? I can't imagine they would be made that way.
  14. Is this typical of the type of quality we can expect from an asian 7750? Is this acceptable quality? On this image it looks like part of the metal plate of the movement along the edge has peeled off and is now touching the crown gear. I have not seen any other movements like this. This may damage the gear and if I wind the watch and turn it over I can slightly see that small wire move. What are your thoughts?
  15. So just to update this thread. I contacted the TD who advised to wind the watch 50 turns and let it sit and it should go approximately 40 hours. The watch actually ran 46 hours and 15 minutes before stopping. I checked on it through the test and near the end it was running about 20 minutes behind. So while that is good news unfortunately my pam saga doesn't end on such a happy note yet. Before discovering the issue with movement I noticed there were marks on the rotor that you can see thru the caseback. The marks are very angle dependent and not noticed on the qc pics. So I contacted the dealer initially about the rotor issue which is being handled. BUT... Today since the watch seemed to run well during the test I decided to put on a new strap and wear it today. Under the florescent lighting in my office I noticed two new issues thru the caseback I have been so hung up with the first two issues I have not really inspected the watch very well! So on a part of the movement in the back where there is metal jeweling if you hold the watch just right the light reflects and you see a bunch of scratch marks Also there is what appears to be a thin wire of metal that looks like it has peeled off of one of the edges of the metal and looks like it is touching one of the gears (maybe the crown gear)! I sent a pm to the dealer. I think I may have to send this one back for a refund.
  16. Hi RWG! I received my first two pams last week with the 237H being one of them. While I can only compare this to the other pam I have my overall impression is this is a very high quality rep! The crystal is nice and clear and the AR is very well done. I purchased the colorless AR version. The watch has a nice weight and feel with good presence on your wrist. I also put my first custom strap on the pam 237H which I reviewed here: http://www.rwg.cc/to...rwerk-machinen/ With all the great new pams coming out I know this one is not receiving the love it still deserves. Here are a few pics to help rekindle the flame -
  17. My pam 237H arrived and combined with the strap it looks AWESOME ! I couldn't be more pleased with the watch and the strap. This is currently my favorite combo at the moment and has been receiving plenty of wrist time. Here are some pics for your enjoyment: wrist shot -
  18. FxrAndy, That makes sense. Yes it is brand new from a TD. I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. Thanks for your help. Sent from my iPhone 4s using Tapatalk
  19. I believe it is the high beat version. It is the latest version out but someone with more knowledge than I may chime in.
  20. I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays. I recently received a pam 351M and noticed what could be potential issues. I thought I would ask in the forums to see if anyone else has experienced these issues before. So I have only had the pam 351m for a few days. The first day I wore the watch I wound the watch for about 20-30 gentle back and forth turns and went out for the day. Then after several hours of not looking at it when I looked again it was an hour behind but the seconds hand was still moving. So I adjusted the time again so it was correct and I didn't have further issues. That nite before I went to bed I made sure the watch had accurate time. In the morning when I am checking it the watch is 2.5 hours behind! The seconds hand is still moving! So I adjust the time so it is accurate and decide to wear it through the day. I noticed that it seems to be running fast. Other then maybe running fast I don't have any issues with the time. So last nite before I go to bed I verify the time is correct and everything looks good. This morning I wake up around 7:30 am to run some errands take a quick peek at the watch in the box and it is on time! Phew! Maybe it was a fluke. So I return back home around 8:30 am and the watch is still keeping good time! I didn't get much rest so I decide to take a nap. I wake back up around 12:30 pm. I go check the watch and the time is slightly before 9 and the seconds hands is still moving! I have left the watch untouched in the watch box and it is now 4:51pm and the watch is still at the same time right before 9 and the seconds hand is still moving but the hour and minute hand have not moved! Has anyone else experienced this? Is this an issue for concern because I'm feeling unsure of this watch now? What could cause this kind of problem? I would hate to have to send this watch back to china but don't want these subtle (or not subtle) signs to be an indication of a much more serious issue. Should I contact the dealer? Man I am really bummed out about this pam
  21. So over the past few months I have enjoyed looking at all the high quality custom made straps. We are lucky to have some great craftsman on this forum. I decided to contact xxxxxx xxxxxx after seeing the great quality of his straps. Communication with XX was excellent. He is extremely helpful makes suggestions and wants to make sure you are pleased with the strap. He takes great pride in his work and it shows in the final product. Honestly he made me feel more like an old friend than a customer. I'm glad he has shared some of his knoledge with me and I look forward to working with him again on another strap My idea was a distressed black leather strap with scratching, unfinished edges with a burnt and torched roller buckle! (I had not seen a roller buckle before and it is awesome!) The detail is awesome and the strap is extremely soft. I have not received the pam 237H yet but will update this thread when I do. MM takes awesome foto's if you have seen his posts - I hope my meager attempt below does his work justice:
  22. I wondered the same thing when I noticed a scratch on one of my watch crystals. I have not tried this technique yet but after reading several posts utilizing this technique on other forums this appears to be a useful solution. This is not my post as I found this online so credit to the original poster: http://www.justhidea...pphire-crystal/ How to Remove Scratches From Your Sapphire Crystal Posted by justhideandwatch | panerai, reference, watch repair | Wednesday 28 January 2009 5:00 pm I had always been told that removing scratches from sapphire watch crystals was impossible…but recently I got a tip on how to do this, so I figured I would see for myself. I recently picked up this PAM 00024 Luminor Submersible with a scratch on the crystal right under the “at” portion of automatic on the face. What you need to do is pick up 3-4 tubes of diamond paste in increasing abrasive grades. I started with a 5.0 micron for the most abrasive, and went down from there with a 3.5, 1.0 and .5 micron. I started by taping off the area of the crystal with the scratch so as to prevent the diamond paste from getting underneath the dive bezel. Then I started with the 5.0 micron, and worked that in to the scratch for about 5-10 minutes. Then I went down to the 3.5 micron for another 10 minutes. Then I went down to the 1.0 and the .5 for the final polishing. Initially I used my fingers to rub the diamond paste on the crystal, but found that a paper tower was a bit more effective. After about 30 mintues of work, I wiped off the excess paste, removed the masking tape, and cleaned the watch with water. This is what I was greeted with once the watch was cleaned and dried off. Hope this helps!
  23. Very nice! I have been wanting one of these Sent from my iPhone 4s using Tapatalk
