  1. It looks cool but as you recognized it's on the lower end. As such it's not really accurate as the gen it's based on is a chronograph while this one likely has a basic automatic movement while the pushers likely advance the day date and lastly a fixed 24hr marker but perhaps you know this already. At one time I believe that they made one with the asian 7750 chronograph movement that would have been more accurate but that is long out of production. Watch Eden is a reputable dealer and you won't get fleeced. Everyone has a favorite dealer so some may steer you in other directions but in my books as long as you get the watch you want at the price you want it's all good. If that's the look you like I'd also suggest checking out a white dial, blue marker Aqua Terra. Watch Eden likely has one minus the extra dials that would be very nice first rep.
  2. Would anyone know if the Swiss version of the Abyss suffers from the same 'weak' crown issue or do the asian/swiss movements share them same crown?
  3. Funny, everything that I've read about Steinhart is that they are indeed made or at least assembled in Switzerland. The one thing that I think you can't argue in comparison to reps is that they have swiss movements and the diver models are waterproof out of the box - no mods needed.
  4. Just read the post again. You guys are going to get me in trouble, have bought 8 watches in the past couple of months and can't stop looking at these reviews! OK now which dealer was this from? Wait don't tell me.....
  5. Thanks for sharing and nice review and pics. Yours looks great and kudos for trying out the black version. I especially like that the pearl looks sunken on your watch. I've got the non-chrono version in blue and the pearl is raised, this looks much closer to gen.
  6. Calatrava that is a sweet watch my friend! Thanks for sharing your pics and review. Too many reps to buy.....got to stop reading this forum.....
  7. Hi, It sounds like the specific model you are looking for the DateJust II (which is the larger 42mm case size). I have a gen DateJust and in looking at the reps the most obvious tell to me are the bezels. Most rep bezels just look a bit too big compared to the gen's. Hard to describe but on the newer models the overall impression to me on the reps I've looked at is too much bling (I guess it depends if you like that or not). There are also so many dial combinations available on DJ's it's hard to say which is best or closest. So it would be a matter of comparing the specific dial you're interested in to the gen dial. Best of luck!
