  1. "Looks like the font on King's version is a bit oversize too" This is the exact problem with my current GMT. I often browse my local official Rolex dealer ( minus my rep). Man... the dial on my watch is huge compared to the Gen. I think it has something to do with the crystal they are using on some of these reps.

  2. I think these are referred to as the Root Beer GMT. Its been awhile since my last purchase ( 8 months) and Ive got the bug again. Ive found 2 versions of this watch. Does anyone happen to have one? If so could you please post pics. I dont wear my reps in public unless I have a long sleeve shirt so Im not too concerned with being called out. I love the two tone sport models and this one seems to have allot of charisma.

  3. Ive been following this watch for the past week and find it amazing that no one has posted detailed pics. Yes the dealers have pics but their poor quality factory pics. Im really interested in seeing detail pics of the crown tube, rehaut, dial and CGs. Lastly are Andrew and Josh offering the same watch? I know from time to time their watches differ as they sometimes source from different factory's.

Why not go for a vintage 5513? The one pictured above on top of my "Sub"-ramid has been with me the longest. It started as a Gilt dial and I modded the case, CG's, added an aftermarket Gen style bezel assembly, Gen Crown, tube and gaskets, a vintage rep rivet bracelet with Gen spring bars, a Clark superdome crystal and I re-lumed the dial and hands. Pm me if you would entertain buying it as I have a Gen 5512/5513 Gilt dial that I am raising funds to by a Gen 1520 movement.

Anyway, good luck in your search. I have a Gen 14060M (bottom center) and I hardly wear it. I much prefer the acrylic vintage pieces.

    Regards,

    Kurt.

    Umm.... WOW!

  5. Wrong. This hand stack is correct for the vintage model.

This is rather nice looking rep. I would just "vintagize" it a bit, enjoy it... and forget about the flaws. I'd probably drill the lug holes though.

Thanks By-tor for pointing out that build quality is just as important as correct font or placement of the coronet. I get so tired of threads that praise certain reps that have such obvious issues such as print quality on dial/date wheel. While other watches with very nice dial print get slammed for a incorrect coronet.

  6. Manuel, sorry, but this is not real !

Get on look on the web site.

May be this is real!

    this is not real,

wile thank you for your interesting support.

    ;)

Dont worry about rep homework. Go to ebay find a reputable dealer ( lots of positive feedback). Look at the exact watch your buying year, model, ect. Compare pics and dimensions Try this site http://catalog.antiquorum.com/catalog_asta...t&s_batch=1

Spend hours looking at fine details. All the dealers outside of a few drop ship so really you have no control over the quality of watch your going to get. Andrews watches seem to be the best of the drop shippers on this site. Im kinda [censored], the last 2 watches I bought have had defective sapphires (not from Andrew). I know if this is happening to me its happening to others. I now have a 5 day old watch in pieces due to a sapphire that the edge basically chipped off. Im searching for sapphires online not my Idea of enjoying my watch.
