    Hi all,

I have started a rolex 1016 build and currently have the watch pictured above. Unfortunately the dial that I have above has slightly aged lume while the hands do not and I am wondering what combinations of dial / hands would make for the best build. Trying to keep the budget low so please take that into consideration. I currently have an ETA 2824 in the watch but could also use a DG2813 that I have arriving soon.

At the moment I am considering this face / hand set from Yukiwatch:

    Thanks all

  2. You've fouled the keyless works, I haven't worked on a DG28 but from what I have read it is a horrible movement to deal with. If you have the tools maybe give it a try to fix it, worst case you destroy a cheap movement, if not, the movement generally sell for not too much on the bay.

  3. If having an elongated stem is all you get then that is the least of worries in reps. You can say that you dislike the lack of QC all you like, or that it should be more reliable, but you're a grown man spending your money how you wish. If you think it could be spent better, then spend it elsewhere.

As for it not being free, it is what it is. We know when we buy reps that they're not as reliable as gens. If that's a problem, then don't buy reps.

  4. Hi everybody,

I have decided to embark on my first build and have decided that it should be for a Tudor Snowflake. I've chosen black due to it being far easier to find the bezel.

In my research and through asking people around here I have discovered that I will need to get

Dial / hands (I'm thinking the yuki offering looks quite good)

    Case

    Movement

    Crystal (T19) (ordered)
    Rolex crown (703)

Rolex or Clark tube (not sure where to source this)

I have heard of people getting a "cartel" 5513 and converting it. I was wondering due to the problems I have had recently with the movements in rep watches if anybody knows if it is possible to purchase just the cartel case so that I could purchase a TC 2824-2 which I would trust far more.

So in summary does anybody know where I could source these parts and any other advice.

    Thanks in advance

  5. Hi and welcome. Great purchase in my opinion, I like the Chrono a lot (and the gen blue one is fabulous). Have my eye on one of these with the grey dial for quite some time already. This looks well on the bracelet and also fine on a NATO strap with a touch or orange.

Wish that they could replicate the Tudor Heritage Chrono Blue. Such a nice watch.
