  3. Gen tropic or just tropic has a certain shine that clark Christal don't achieve u need to have it side by side and have a closer look to see that ... also tropic is just a tad clearer in real life again really hard to see ... still in some eyes don't make difference ... at stephane ... yes thats the case back i have on the way ... mmmm Laz
  4. @ kelster ... i have that style as it came on the DRSD ... the one i purchased now is the circular one ... @ lancelot ... i have striped mine course actually tribal did and even aged it a bit Laz

  6. yep i agree with takashi and stephane and pretty much also with others ... 1 thing to note is build the watch that u will be happy with ... we all have a bit different taste to what needs to be done to make it good for yourself ... Mine 1665 MBW was build by tribal a year ago but i constantly been upgrading it ... here is what he done i will start with the ones that are basic and needed imho: - CGs Shawed - lugholes drilled to take gen bars - gen bars - gen 585 end links - casebook color engraving striped and vintagized - gen insert and pearl - gen crown and tube - gen tropic 39 flat top - dial and hands relumed with night rebel lume - ubi flat 3 DW overlay installed - general overwork of the case and polishing etc ... - next on my list change of case back with GW one ATM i have a DRSD case back as my 1665 came with DRSD dial but i decided to instal GW dial there fore the DRSD case back - HE valve mod The sick thing is it never ends many members know and been there but then again this is why it makes it so fun ... take ure time also and be patient ... my 1665 is a 1 year project and still ongoing one ... NOW here is the out of the box state when i received it : Here is how it looks after 1 year ... Huuuuuge difference well for me at least I leave u with a double wristie with his modern contra part ... inspired by stephane Wish u a nice project whatever u end up with will be fine as long as ure happy with it mark my words! Laz

  10. Love the Doxa no doubt great tool watches i love how they incorporated modern technology and kept the watch design 30 years old Since they reped ORIS and the likes i cant see a problem to rep this also acquiring a gen is not such an expense ... and im sure there is a lot of fans of this one here on the boards ... i personaly know a few members that would pick this one up for sure Here is a Doxa GMT SUB750T Sharkhunter Watch video review ... btw doxa uses eta mvt. for their watches

  12. To bad m8 ... u got me going there for a while all do this is no watch i have desired still i was looking forward to a good end ... and then the last to pictures Well we all learn some day and still experienced members sometimes make exception and try the luck of the draw but usually ends like in ure case with dissapointment. Hope it did not set u back to much ... don't go crazy down the pub with booze ... aint worth the aggro regards laz
  13. Amazing values no doubt ... again i agree with all pretty much ... this dial makes sense only in restoration of gen watch or white to red transformation ... buying this for any Frankenstein is pointless IMHO. Kind regards Laz

  18. Hi, here is the specs of my DJ 16014 Franken: Genuine dial Gen 16014 case Gen crown and tube Gen 62510H jubilee bracelet Gen 555 end links Gen plexy crystal Clark hands 3055 datewheel ETA 2836-2 Built by kelster and his watchmaker from parts collected by W.Genzo that was the previous owner of this baby I had luck to persuade Genzo/A to part with it as he has another DJ franken project near completion and also a gen modern SS DJ So regarding cost split per parts better ask the mentioned members ... hope this helps.
