I agree but it's more about learning how to use light to your advantage, I use an iphone for all my pics and they're pretty good.
+1. The iphone's camera is pretty decent, not that it can compete with a dlsr, but you can still get some pretty good pictures if you have good lighting.

Recently ordered from the new url (which I found through members on rep geek):
Haven't gotten QC pics for 4 days/no contact after emailing 2 different "departments". Someone put my mind to rest here

I remember seeing someone mention a modder from here can install gen hands on eta 2824-2.
anyone knows who that is?
I am planning to do that
If it's a vintage build, why not go with Gen tudor hands?

I personally think its crap. The depth might be ok. But the fonts are way off

I'd stay away from WSO parts - questionable/inconsistent quality

What you are referring to is a date wheel overlay which is bonded to the actual date wheel. I would either, inform/educate your watchmaker on its construction, and how you have to remove the, (different to removing a date wheel on its own), or send it to a watchmaker like myself who has experience with these.
+ 1. I've brought pieces to local watchmakers, but I feel like WAY more comfortable when sent to forum modder. Speaking the same 'language' is the obvious advantage here.

Beautiful pictures! Would send my watches just to get some good pics

I'm no daytona expert, but it does look pretty good. Source?

Hi Nghia,
Check out these links - they should explain how the forum works, and serve as a guide through your first (and believe me, many more) rep purchase.
http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/85981-hey-noobor-not-so-noobread-this-now/
http://www.rwgforum.net/topic/24786-read-our-forum-rules/
Especially pertinent is rule number 2 on the second link. If you can't find any information on one particular subject, try googling your query with "rwg" after the key words.
Welcome to the forum and enjoy your newfound crippling addiction!

Sorry to hear that man - best of luck in recovering everything!

As a side - isn't the 5514 supposed to have a 700 crown/tube set?
-
Imo you need to buy a genuine dial eg: http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1385247366/
And genuine bezel: http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1384971435/
And genuine crown/tube (24-700) : http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1385255127/
And genuine tropic 21 crystal either sd or service your choice: http://www.network54.com/Forum/207673/message/1378396517/
Then when you get your parts send them to phong and ask him to build you a 6239 using his mid case, pushers, case back, hands and movement. Do not opt for the movement conversion just a straight v72 will do, he will assemble it for you and send it back built. I've given you what I feel is the minimum amount of gen parts for a 6239 to make it very nice. All in you would be spending the same as if you recieved a watch from him with his superficial movement conversion, but with a bad a dial bad crown and ok bezel... If it were me, I'd spend the money he would have taken from you for the conversion and spend it on these essential gen parts
Slightly more work, same $, much better result
Just to add I can make you the same list but for a 6263/5 build, I just knew of this particular gen dial that's for sale and for a 6239 but there may be a big red dial for sale.. It will cost double..
+ 1
This will provide an awfully satisfying watch

I believe the feet for the vintage submariners/sports models were located at the 30 min and 57 min mark. Not sure about the width however
-
You could just sorta place the tube in the right spot and smack it with a big hammer.....
LOL This is what I normally do....doesn't end up working out the way you'd think it would!
-
What store did you grab that dial from dbane? Looks fantastic
