  1. @Stephane : there are 2 Breitlings which meet my standards as far as their look is concerned : the SFSO and the Navitimer...

    I got both now :D

I'm probably finished in the Breitling section...

@REK001 : on CQout... I'll PM the name of the seller if you're interested. The prices are not cheaper there, but you find watches our dealers don't carry.

That was my second purchase there (after a Quartz Hublot, which is far under the Bretiling as far as the finishing is concerned).

Price was 95 dollars shipped... unbeatable against the Quartz Navi from our dealers : this time I feel I did two hits in one shot >> quality and price. I love that :D

  2. b16a2,

    I can't do anything against experts ;)

Indeed, it's a Quartz (seconds @6 and non recessed date are surely a tell), and I have been looking for one for a while. The ones from TT and PC were not enough for me, especially their caseback and dials.

That one breathes quality. I was not aware of all the details you mentionned, thx for that, I learnt a lot about the Navi.

It came with a bracelet, but I usually don't like Breitling bracelets, so I took my spare SFSO black strap, and it gives the perfect balance to this watch. I'm not always a fan of gold, in this case, it's just fine.

  3. You should get 2 days before it runs out.

The Swiss movement isn't that expensive, but the AR-coated Sapphire doesn't help keep costs down.

Lest we forget, the Asian Fish has Mineral Glass, not Sapphire.

Something like 80-90 dollars now ?

My "water drop test" on the Asian says Sapphire... But as it's not a 100% reliable test, I have no mean to secure this information. The only way would be to try to scratch the crystal...and guess what ?

  4. (...) The Fish uses a Swiss ETA 2824, just like the genuine Breitling.

There's no way to tell without opening them up, basically. They both operate exactly like their genuine counterparts.

Just to have everything said, there ARE also Swiss SFSO which come with the Sellita SW200 instead of the ETA (remember Azerbyjam thread). If the movement is basically as good as the ETA, it is NOT an ETA, and therefore I would not make the difference in quality of movements, but as Phoband said, "only" on the AR. That's a bit expensive (for me).

  5. Updated on 15th August

    - added an inexpensive HBB RG...Well, it's full of flaws against the gen / high end rep, but as I can't and don't want to afford 700 USD++ in one single rep, I found this to be a good way to have a nice looking watch on my wrist. I'm very satisfied with it indeed : the finishing is correct (don't look robust actually, but OK), the Quartz movement is for me the right alternative to a faux-chrono, and the "wow" from some colleagues show that the HBB design is indeed a special one, and that noone (at least in my neighbourhood) have any clue of what Hublot is.

I just would like to mention the price, as it's really remarkable : 41 GBP shipped, i.e. around 82 dollars. About half of the cheapest Faux-chrono from our dealers.

    - updated the overview accordingly.

Still waiting for my Overseas to come back. I miss it ! Really....

  6. I'd say 100% fake, for owning one

The GMT version has a display caseback, only the standard one has a closed caseback.

Besides, the gen has silver markings, not white...

No AR. Well, not sure if the gen has AR or not...

But it's true, the Timewalker series are damn accurate reps. Especially the latest "simple" one. Difficult to make the difference.

  7. This guy is doing well. He has sold a few other scams too with 100% feedback.

These guys have usually buddies (shills ?) who buy from them and build their wrong reputation.

I would never buy very pricey watches on ebay. And if I had to rely on ebay feedbacks, it would never be under a score of several hundreds.

  8. About a Montblanc Star : "I had this verified by the manager of the local AD, who confirmed its authenticity"

About an HBB for which I requested the serial number to have it checked by an AD : "I am currently on vacation, let you know it asap"...

Sure, the best moment to sell something is when you're on holiday !

  9. How about just fixing the wheels. It's not hard or expensive.

The date alignment problem is one amongst others... a cheaper quartz version would solve many other issues, linked to the Asian 7750 (I won't go into details, we all know and it's an already debated topic). The worst thing is that these versions often exist, but are not carried by our dealers.

  10. In fact I bought it from a boards member, who got it from WBK who is a dealer on RWI.

In this matter the deler is not that important, you can get FM crazy hours from almost everyone. I would just pay attention to the dial fonts, some are more accurate than others. Otherwise, I would get the cheaper one, FM curvex are excellent reps for a low price.

The modified movement is indeed the funny thing there, replicating a very expensive movement... :whistling:

  11. Both have often recognized to be buddies, that's not surprising. Some say they are the same person, which I personally don't believe, and Madamoiselle V. you're just saying it with more objective reasons, they're not 1 but 2 (or more) persons.

I was just wondering about the same structure in the domain name and emails. But maybe it's not really that important.

  12. Well, the skin has been changed to "old format" topic view...Better? Or worse? Personally, I think this look better. There was something with the design that did not make the different posts as separated as they should have been.

Much better, thank you, that was the only disturbance for me...

As for the green colour : well, some like Two-tones Breitlings and some like black PVD coated B&R  Nothing to say about that.

And I forgot to mention : the decision to "clean/enlarge" the dealer section is a wise decision...

    Thanks !!

I have no layout issues with Firefox under WinXP or MacOS X.

  13. Hi,

looks good. Well, I liked the other layout too..

Which I will have to get used to are the members profiles on the top of each post (mixing with the conversation). I preferred them on the left. On the other hand, we have more room for our pics, that's true :D

As for the rest, I have to explore...
