Forum upgrades - new sections and other suggestions
Mike on a bike replied to Admin's topic in General Discussion
Well first off to echo earlier post RWI, RG both are a cluster F**ks to navigate the other RWG like this one is easy on the eyes (literally ) and quite easy to navigate so I am hopeful that does not change to much. Extra sections why not a Tudor and /or Hublot etc section/s, being responsive to member interest keeps a site alive. The scammer section I think is problematic for a host of reasons foremost being irresponsible posting of an innocent person. Sales thread well we are a little weak there IMHO. I took care of two trades posted with out prices this week no problem traders/sellers good guys took care of it after I prompted them. My take on sales thread is keep it as it stands now just police aggressively, only supporting members can sell all members can see and buy, post count will not work : I have five post I PM you have the money most guys gonna say no against the rules , I don't think so. (seller beware!) I am hopeful that the changes will be for the better and TRC sounds fine. -
marti look around they had it in a darker color I wood.

I use an infrared type, the two burners put out only 21,000 BTUs but reach temperatures around 700 degrees F by heating a metal U-shaped infrared emitter the grill works by completely separating the flame from the food. No flare ups even cooking and lightening fast, love this one.

Guys split it and call it a day you aren't getting anywhere. -
Kbh I take exception to people spouting derogatory statements about anyone let alone in the present situation about a person who is unable to defend himself and has been a generous donator to the forum with a payed membership. Well five years and a postmaster I would venture that you lost your payed membership when paypal went down. In my experience after a couple of months or so those who are going to join do others just hang out on a free ride, I am sure you are not one of those.

rrari1 You have made your opinion known fairly well in your prior posts in this thread I asked politely for restraint till this was resolved, now here is my opinion: personally I think guys who post here for a year and do not contribute by paying membership to the board are freeloaders on my dime and efforts. You want to dance try me he is not here to defend himself. paneria153 Fair enough just wanted to clarify my position in the matter.

"Lets me see if I can recap 1) He repeatedly didnt follow the rules 2) He was a colorful poster ( I also enjoyed his post) 3) He was known for his passionate convictions, which at times could be unyielding. 4) He was sanctions in the past through warnings and time out. 5) The mods hit their tolerance limit 6) He was bannned 7) Several members knew his actions would eventually get him banned. But was a surprise to him. He wants his donation money returned (I personally think that is a very reasonable request, but most forums would (not?) return it. But I think the money should be returned ASAP) 9) He may or may not have threaten some sort of action thru a third person - which has non positive benefits 10) His friends have come to his defense and maybe lobbying for him behind the scenes all while doing a sorta "intervention" for him. Did I miss something ? if I didn't the thread could have went something like this ? What happen to Z -He got banned Why ? -You know, Z was just being Z and the mods have had enough. The talked about it and they decided he would probably never going to follow the rules despite how many chances they gave him, But his post were good reading and he loved this place -Yeah, but no one is above the rules. oh ok, But since I have your attention. Can you tell me who has the best sub ? -" HartDoc I would say that is a spot on assessment, thanks for lightening the mood. PS Doc fixed some typos in bold hope that is ok.

panerai153 I am sorry that you are taken back but I still maintain that clearing the air in such a high profile incident is necessary and was done in a proper manner by the staff. Leaving a great many of us wondering is not healthy for the forum and if you took it as an indictment you have misread my intentions. In addition most found Rob 's rants entertaining and you will be hard pressed to find a member he has dealt with over the years not speaking highly of him. I will agree such behavior would not be tolerated on a Gen forum stuffy places that they are and as to other Rep forums you may be right there also. In closing I will remind everyone that the outcome of this is still uncertain and I beseech you to refrain from judgement until resolved. Though "Z" is banned he can read this thread if he so chooses I would hope you realize inciting him right ,wrong or indifferent is not good for the forum at this time.

Easy gentlemen let us not start another fire as I work to put this one out. Let it go..........................

Russ you might have spent time other boards but here we all help out on QC, think of it this way we are friends asking each other for second set of eyes. As far as flaws as you can read I missed stuff others saw as am not a picky guy. Now that the eagle eyes have spotted it yes lume on 50 sloppy and yes the hand is in indeed bent ask for another. At 400 they gotta get it right no matter if gen is 5000 or 20000 k these watches cost them peanuts to make. I have a parnis which is a dead ringer for a IWC rep same movement dial crystal you name it cost me 65 bucks shipped put another name on dial now 200- 300 hundred dollar watch. They can ship and sell at 65 with a profit so what do you think this 400 dollar piece cost to make.

Well I am happy you guys got wind of this and shed some light on the subject, Nothing I had not suspected already as far the process and reasoning behind the decision but transparency in high profile members banning is required if for no other reason than to quell other members fears of such a thing happening to them. Yes there have been PM discussions on this point gentlemen I can assure you. In specific regard I am saddened by ZK's ban as I am sure all who know him are, I am sure this was not a easy decision nor one I would have liked to been party to. As far as putting this sh*t storm to rest "I am pretty sure also that our Admin will refund any donations and that is regardless of the fact that I am sure we actually gave him a free upgrade at one point." should be under taken posthaste to avert future problems in regard. I am well aware of the precedent it sets but in this case an exception due to extraordinary merits is prudent.
