mahand1 is a seller on ebay who sells rolex and tudor dials. Jerkstore was correct and thinking this is one of his dials, took a look at my ebay receipt and that's exactly where this came from. Seems that he has some decent tudor dials but this 1675 dial could have a better coronet.

Hey guys, I picked up these two parts for a 1675 build am working on and I have a couple questions. The dial was purchased on ebay as a "refinished" genuine 1675 dial, but the price was too good to be true. It doesn't seem to be genuine to me but it still looks like a decent dial. Thoughts? Next is an insert I picked up also sold as genuine, also with a price that may have been too good. It feels like the genuine inserts I've held in person but the color looks off. Was it perhaps chemically faded? Here are a few pics of the parts. Thanks for any help you can give

Thanks Relaxman. I bought all the parts to basically copy your build but I've decided against having the case modded. Just a bit too much money to invest in a rep for me. So I have the clarks crystal still to install, as well as a db3804, raffles hands and milsub caseback. Planned on installing a "refinished" gen dial I picked up on the bay (It's a good dial, but most likely not gen) but the idea of clipping the feet and using dial dots or epoxy scares me. O well piece by piece I suppose Thanks again, your 1675 is the shizzzz!!

Put a new insert in my cartel 1675 and threw it on a 93150. Not the accurate bracelet but it feels so much more solid. Now just gotta work up the nerve to replace the crystal, dial, movement.. haha

As the others said a dremel with rouge is the best way. Also I found simichrome polish with a microfiber cloth is a little stronger than a cape cod cloth, though it still wont get out the deep ones

One of the biggest tells to me has always been the edge of the rubber crowns on the rep. Both the 3 and 3.5 have an unfinished "lip" vs the smooth finished rubber seen on the gen. Either the AP diver is one of my favorite reps. I have mine on a donerix shark strap and I wear it at least twice a week.

It seems to me one of the reoccurring events for these scammers is the use of boxes. He even mentions that he got the box on rwi. A part of me wishes boxes weren't available. I know ebay will always sell them and also there are many decent replica ones but it just seems like we're helping these guys

The AP logo is now gold, along with gold outlines of the chrono dials. Also has the correct black datewheel

They never wear the expensive stuff in the limelight anymore . Although both Hillary and Bill have been seen in some nice watches.
