  1. Where did you get the watch on the left?
  2. Also, just FYI, Debaufre has a LE edition with a sterile dial and a central second hand using the ETA auto movement for a good price on their website. I think there is a $50 off coupon out there on one of the gen watch forums as well.
  3. Good call.
  4. I just met up with a watch guy locally who has a Ticino in white dial. I held it and tried it on. It looks nice. Compared to the Debaufre, it isn't as nice. It is also thinner, so there could be some concern of the large crown digging into your wrist depending on how thick of a strap you use. There isn't a lot of lume on the white dialed version just FYI. I think the people to buy Ticino from in my experience is sizzlinwatches. They have a website and are on Ebay. They will give good prices if you contact them and have great customer service. Sometimes they are liquidating out older stock for less money. I would personally go for the newest Ticino big pilot. I prefer the hands, lume and case design. Pricing is more like $120-150 though instead of ~$75. His is the older style Here are some pics of his watch: Sorry I don't have any side by side comparison pictures. Must have been due to all the beer.
  5. Anything by Kent is killer in my book.
  6. I was looking into building an unbranded white dialed version with PVD case, with black hands. I gave up on it though... Your picture makes me regret that. Very nice watch and very nice strap.
  7. PVD 112. Is that a fantasy watch?
  8. I love the stealth B&R. Is that the real thing or a rep?
  9. Looks good, but we need more pictures.
  10. I have not purchased from Helenarou. However, I do know someone who did. The first watch he got had a fogged crystal and oxidation on the movement. The replacement watch had bent hands that scratched the dial and a movement that works only intermittently with about 18 hours of reserve. Just FYI
  11. Thanks for the compliment. I really LOVE taking photos... I have always been into it. Since I got a nice digi cam I have really been getting back into it. I have also started to really enjoy taking still shots of watches... I have so many pictures. Maybe I will post a few here soon. Some are better than others. But there is nothing wrong with learning and getting better.
  12. I am not sure how it will hold up...I'll have to give it a lot of wrist time to see. I think the distressing could be good or bad depending on what you want. I personally would prefer less...
  13. Thanks. Homer is generally well received, correct? Where can I read more on this add on module? I am curious about how it functions, how reliable it is, how easy it is to have serviced, etc.
  14. I used a bunch on it actually....the leather isn't the best unfortunately. It is quite dried out. But I think this will motivate me to try again.
  15. Well, these aren't the best pictures. I'll have to take better ones later, but I thought I would share. I broke down a WWII ammo pouch, tossed in a SC PVD sew-in buckle and this is what I ended up with. I left the original white stitching for effect.
  16. Thanks. I love this watch. I was looking all over for a quality big pilot homage and this fit the bill nicely. Of course if you are willing to go Chinese instead of Swiss and you want to save a chunk of change, you can always go with Ticino. Their new case design is much better. Or if you want to spend a good bit more, you can pick up an Azimuth Jagdbomber.
  17. Selling Pam homage GMT with ETA 2836 + "GMT module" http://cgi.ebay.com/GMT-WATCH-v2-44mm-STEE...7QQcmdZViewItem
  18. Thanks for the link. That is a sweet looking Hammy.
  19. That's hott. Where are the pics of the fully assembled Hammy?
  20. Thanks for the comments.
  21. What is the significance of your signature picture?
  22. Cool. I know a guy who does custom DLC for guns. I will have to send him an email.
  23. Is Ebay the best bet? What do you search for? What are some available, relatively inexpensive 6497 options for movements out there? Any pocket watch recommendations? What about the Cortbert movement? Is that an easy swap? Where/how do you search for that? I won't even ask about Angelus 240, I already know the answer: hard to find and even harder to afford.
