  1. It took a lot of work, is well crafted and obviously sold very quickly, so I have a hard time finding any fault with it. That being said, I didn't buy it.
  2. I agree with V. The answer is yes. Many goods are "overpriced" but that is the nature of making a profit. People are willing to pay the price. As much as many of us would probably like reasonably priced watches with basic movements and features, saving the extravagant pricing for the special, limited edition watches with worked over in house movements, etc., the company isn't going to do that if it waters down the air of exclusivity that their brand currently provides.
  3. Looks good. Why does the lume fill look yellow in the first pics and white in the last ones? Do you know who originally made this watch?
  4. Interesting info. Thank you. What does a ST 2530 movement cost that has p/r? Oops. I just read it is hard to fit it into a case.
  5. lol. It is a reflection in the polished case.
  6. Nice. Is that croc strap a Strap Culture or a SanDave? Looks really nice.
  7. Cool straps. I recognize a few...
  8. It looks great. Good job. It reminds me of this one I just made for somebody: Do you have any other pics of your tats?
  9. Hmm that sounds a little more complicated than I was hoping for. Oh well, it will just have to wait I guess.
  10. When you guys say try Homer and Josh and Andrew, where do I find listings for homage watches for them?
  11. I recently saw that watch on Ebay...were you buying it or selling it Asad? Looks nice either way.
  12. There is some interesting stuff out there. To each his/her own I always say. It can't hurt to try something new.
  13. OK thanks. I'll check it out. Guys, as for Helenarou, I will have to re-evaluate. Now, on the black watches he/she sells, how is the finish? How does it hold up?
  14. Thanks for that info.
  15. That makes sense.
  16. Apparently there are a bunch of them. http://cgi.ebay.com/LUMINOR-RADIOMIR-BLACK...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/LUMINOR-MARINA-AUTO-Q-...1QQcmdZViewItem http://cgi.ebay.com/MECHANICAL-MANUAL-WIND...1QQcmdZViewItem
  17. A friend of mine has less than $200 to spend on a Panerai homage watch. It can say Marina Militare but not Panerai. Chinese movement is fine. I realize the lume won't be the best, it won't be pressure tested, etc. I personally have told him to not consider Helenarou on Ebay based on experiences I have read about online. Are there any other options? Obviously accuracy to gen is less critical. If it comes down to it, he can consider doing the CG and CG lever mods himself at some point. Thanks for the help.
  18. Check out the pictures. lol http://cgi.ebay.com/Militare-Marina-Radiom...1QQcmdZViewItem
  19. I am interested in info about Destro watches. What is required? Can you just rotate the case 180 degrees and flip the crown guard? Is a special dial required? Will the movement be "upside down?" Basically, can I just take the normal parts and assemble it as a destro or what? Thanks.
  20. I love the picture of the cat in your signature.
  21. This strap will be much too large for you. Also, if you want soft and thin, don't buy it. For your wrist, I would look at 125/75 or possibly 130/80. It depends on how far you want the short strap to wrap your wrist, where you want the buckle to be located and how much tail you want. There are many affordable strap options if you search through the dealer sections of the rep forums. Also you can check the sale of used straps here or on gen sites. There are also many lists of strap makers on rep and gen sites. I think once you start to buy nice straps you will realize that there is no "perfect" ONE strap. You will like to have many straps. So just buy what you think looks nice and don't stress on it. The later buy something else.
  22. Without the text or do I have to modify it to remove the text myself? Can you possibly provide the DIY for this? I really like your watch and would like to know. Thanks.
  23. That is frustrating. Well, olive sounds really cool.
  24. The pictures make it look a little on the medium brown side to me, but the leather looks great and the olive color sounds like a great choice.
  25. I would love a white dial homage watch like that. Any info on how to get the sterile dial would be appreciated. Both look great. Good job on the DIY.
