I am looking to build my own homage watch. I was hoping to pick up a case set, asian movement, etc. and match it with a Davidsen dial.
Are there any fitment issues I should be aware of?
I don't know if you are asking me, but there are a number of options depending on the type of leather and the look you want. Generally it is beeswax and hand burnishing combined with edge dying or edge coating.
I'm not sure I would pay that from StrapCode. I have purchased straps from them in the past and not loved them.
SanDave sells a croc strap for less, as does Strap Culture from time to time. Then again there is always HKTan.
The thickest one I wear is 7mm thick. So, with the two layers on top of each other and the keeper (which is not thined) it adds up to about 23mm thick from the wrist.
But I have a couple 3mm thick straps that I wear from time to time as well. I personally prefer around 5mm.
I like it obviously. I can't really tell from the pictures but it is a sausage dial?
I wanted a sausage for mine, but the cost to relume was a bit much.
I have asked Davidsen for a no brand backfill dial but he doesn't have any.
